Pretty much the same in a W140? Great job! It helped me gather courage to plan to replace lower control arms myself.
I appreciate you don't want you hands near the spring when its compressed but I don't much like the use of pipe grips which damage the coating.
What's needed is a spring compressor tool with handles that can be used to lift/install the spring when compressed.
Keep producing the videos. Excellence in quality and information.

Excellent video, very informative. Just wondered if there was any kind of bushing or insulator between the bottom of the spring & it's seating on the wishbone.

How you can detect a broken spring? It makes any noise?
Several signs may indicate a broken coil spring in the car:
- Knocking or noise when driving over bumps.
- Uneven tire wear.
- Axial displacement of the wheel.
- Low ground clearance.

How important is the function of the socket on the top of the spring? What if it separates from the car body and stays on top of the spring and stays on the lower control arm?
Unfortunately, it is difficult to say something without proper diagnostics.

I noticed that the rubber shim had a 4 dot marker. That makes the height of the body to the ground excessively high!!! Recommended is only 2 dots!!!

How do you know when it’s a spring problem and not a shock problem
Thank you for your question! Unlike the shock absorbers, the first sign that the spring has gone bad is its height degression, which will be visible in the vehicle clearance.

you guys cut out the parts of finagling the springs in and out of car. Its not as easy as this video shows. fighting for wiggle room is not fun as you have a spring under compression. trust me people its not as easy and quick as this video shows....
