Steven, I am a 54 year old Nigerian that has lived in the United States for 34 years. I went to boarding high school and university in Nigeria before I moved to the U.S. Very little is known about our continent and culture. People around the world will be as intrigued with our culture as we are with western culture. You can do a series on musical instruments for example. You can start with percussion- ie is drums, gongs, bells, etc. Nigeria has all kinds of talking drums. The igbo Ekwe is probably how the whites got the idea for Morse Code, which is the precursor to the telephone..... You have to value something before you can sell it. Wode Maya's success stems from the fact he highly values his African heritage. You can do a series on African martial arts. The Benins warriors have fighting techniques. Asaba people have a form of Judo called Ige. In the north there is a UFC like fatal boxing called Dambe.
You’re my generation. I strongly support your advice. We have more than enough in Nigeria and Africa to showcase to the world. Nigeria alone has over 300 tribes with different tradition and culture. I support Music because it is like football. It is a unifying factor. If you do your research well enough, you will discover that the Westerner are looking for something extra but they don’t know where to get what and how. Today, BENIN and Yoruba artifacts are in several European museum. It is something they lack they cherish. So consider it bro.
Wode films wherever he feels like it...he does it but with cool vibes, humbleness, not overdoing things to draw attention..... his Transparency is what (I believe) is working for him...And He Trusts God for that... Wode don't need to do any rituals...God First
