- When it comes to tote bags for work, I love ones that are minimalistic yet functional. My favorites include the brands: Carl Friedrik, Mansur Gavriel, Cuyana and Longchamp. I consider these to be the best tote bags since they feature exceptional craftsmanship at an attractive price point.

Really glad I found this video. I’ve never heard of Carl Friedrik and absolutely love this tote! I think the price of the Ashby tote is complete reasonable. I’ve no problem paying this much for a good quality bag. I’d rather have one good bag instead of three crappy ones. Thx! PS what organizer is the one you are using with the Mansur Gavriel? Oops just found it.

I've carried 3 large science textbooks in my Longchamp bag and the straps did fine :) I used the bag for about 2 years until the zipper de-railed (most likely from overstuffing the bag - so beware of this!)

i actually have the same exact tote - brand new never used Mansur Gavriel large tote in black w/ flamma interior up for sale. i have the original receipt, box, dust bag and pouch. i bought a few mansur bags and the small tote and bucket bag fit my needs more so the large tote has just been sitting in the box. let me know if you are interested and am happy to share pictures, etc.
I have one of the same Longchamp Le Pliage totes from 12 years ago and while it's still totally functional, I have the purple color which is starting to show its age and the bottom corners are fraying open. I went to replace it, and couldn't figure out why the new ones felt so small! Upon doing some research, I was gutted to realize that, at the time I bought it all those years ago in San Francisco, the large size had larger dimensions than the large sold in Europe. Maybe a couple years after I purchased mine, which is still 10 years ago, they downsized the North American version to match the European model, so now a replacement of the same super roomy dimensions is impossible!
Aw! It’s always a bummer when you can’t find an exact replacement, but I saw that they came out with an expandable version. I haven’t tried it yet, but maybe that could give you back the extra space 😉

have you been caught out in the rain with any of these bags and how did they hold up? i've been searching youtube i need an everyday power house work tote. it needs to carry everything from an extra pair of flat shoes/umbrella/my lunch bag/ water bottles/ wallet/keys/makeup/toiletry pouch/tech bag/phone/tablet/sweater lol i'm gone all day. i need something that the straps aren't going to break and the bag is solid. i'm looking at that Carl Friedrik even more than LV Neverfull. great video.
The only one that I’ve used in the rain is my longchamp one (since the nylon material is still ok if it gets wet). I’ll usually try to cover the other leather ones with my coat or sweater to protect it from unexpected rain. We carry pretty similar things - extra pair of flats is a must! Since I do carry a lot things, it’s been much easier pulling them out of a structured vs unstructured tote. The zipper closure has also made me less paranoid about theft when I’m in crowded public spaces 😉
Have you looked in to dagne dover totes? They're really solid and are coated canvas so great for the rain but have nice thick padded leather handles. They're create for the working woman so lots of great organizational pockets. I did a video on the smallest tote option but you might want the bigger versions!

Great video! I wont tell all of my favorites yet (there are a bunch) because I have a work wear series going up on my channel in the next few weeks starting with the best work totes. You had great choices. The Longchamp makes my list as well :) Thanks for sharing!
With these bags I'm super scared that those straps'll get destroyed really quickly because they are so thin

you should look into purchasing a Dagne dover! Specifically the "Allyn tote". I've been looking for the perfect bag for graduate school and I believe I found it :)
Breona Leonard I searched it up and I’m not the biggest fan of bags with that kind of textured leather? You can see the little holes on the bag and that kinda scares me 😭 if you have any other recommendations please tell me!’

I also was going to buy a "Central Tote" from coach. They offer the bag in a smoother canvas texture and one in with the texture you don't care for lol.
Kate Spade is great quality as well. I like the "Molly tote" and there are others as well!
Breona Leonard I’m not the biggest fan of Coach but I’ll definitely try go in stores if I can find any near me and check some bags out , right now I’m using my Micheal kors voyager tote it’s lasted me 2 years and I thought of continuing to use it for college but I kind of want something new , a bag with preferably compartments like the molly tote doesn’t have any compartments , hopefully I find a bag that fits my needs🥺

How heavy is the carl friedrik bag?
I would say it’s similar in weight to my medium givenchy antigona bag, which I believe is ～3 lbs.
V expensive....can find cheaper but v good quality....won’t spend so much for a tote
Get a mic and skip the backgroud music. Too loud given you don’t use microphone. Otherwise great video
You need a better mic setup. The audio in your videos is really subpar, which is sad because your videos are otherwise quite good.
