l work ER as an RT...we get patients in all the time with these airways. as an old school RT they all seem kind of junky.l dont feel like the patient gets good ventilation without a good old ETT.in our area emts cant intubate..only paramedics can...and theres a shortage of paramedics so we have these junky airways all the time.
Bro what ??? I’m an EMT in CT we can not do I-Gels, can Basic EMTs really do an advanced airway in Chicago ?? In CT we don’t even have advanced EMT or EMT-I just basic EMT
Nice and formal. However, it took over 2 minutes to provide the first breath. If your suction is not set up (and it should be) turn them on the side and sweep quickly, roll them back over and start to bag, OPA’s are not usually required to obtain a good breath with a bag mask, they can be inserted between breaths, oxygen can be added after ventilations start also. Way to many delays in this video. Please rethink your testing criteria!!! Otherwise a nice clean video.
Great practical tips. As an instructor, you have to meet the students where they're at. Most of our students have never seen or heard of any of this stuff. They eventually arrive to the point you've described by the end of our class.
Im currently doing my EMTB course and these videos have been great to use a review. PLEASE continue doing these!

Depending on the state and agency training EMTs can do Igels. Some departments around me can and some cannot - from NY

I had to stop the video when he started to suction.
You’re supposed to put the PT in recovery position before you suction….
not necessarily due to spinal precautions
