Thanks for this video. I used the advice a lot as I replaced the leaf spring and shocks on my 1980 Spitfire. My car is a daily driver and I love the changes in look and handling. It did take about 10 times as long to do the job as it did to watch the video and I had the assistance of a mechanically adept friend. Cheers🙂
you prolly dont care but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can give me
@Bentlee Fabian i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I followed your video, GREAT HELP!!!... the only NIGHTMARE (in my case) is putting the old bolt thru the new cylinder/bushing and also placing the flat metal in between the first 2 longest layer.
I just received my new spring. It has three spring brackets on one side and only two on the other. Is this correct and if so, do I take the one off from close to center so they are even and have two on each side?
The lower plate and pivot bolt MUST go back in as an aassembl, the same way it came out, make sure your studs are symmetrical to the knob on the spring ITS IMPORTANT. I used a caliper and a bar to make sure the studs go in. Take your time... you'll get it
@@antifatbastard no problem, This is what I learned after having The spring in and out about a dozen times, it's enough to drive you mad. On the up side I'm pretty good at Remove/Replace the rear spring LOL
@@ronpilchowski9898 Trust me, we thank you for all your videos!! Its A LOT harder to work on that leaf spring with the roof on, like 99% of us, lol. Its one of those sub liminal things.. We see no roof, but we don't 'see it', til we start doing the work..
Travis, I'm glad I found your video. I would not have attempted this project without your help. Thank you.

@Bentlee Fabian It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
@Xzavier Roman You are welcome =)
I REALLLY wish you'd included the disassembly and reassembly of the spring. That was quite a rude shock. Luckily I found help on another video.

Can I take a leaf out to fix the camber . Tires tilted in at the bottom ...

make more videos we miss you
I wish you had side by side,

Very helpful thanks!
Actually it is the top leaf that ALWAYS breaks on the oem spring. Coil over air shocks can also solve that problem.
Is it me or is the the same vid from 7 years ago?
Mike Shelly It's deja vu all over again. Though I wish they'd make new ones
ME TOO!
Hell yes. I got really excited thinking that this guy was back and redoing his spitfire again...damn.
