the hardest part of this game was choosing between ryan and steph lol they’re both so pretty and totally my type! also, that last scene is heartbreaking and the song just makes it even sadder…
Hugging Ryan won't lock you into a romance option this early, don't worry. Without spoiling anything, the devs did a good job at making choices a lot clearer than the previous entries.
Yeah, this game does a great job of setting up your romantic options, it doesn't force you into a romance until they've properly built up those options and your dynamic with the potential romantic partners. Both romantic options are written well, and both genuinely feel like great options. Curious to see who you end up romancing haha
The entire scene with Eleanor is so sad. Alzheimer's is a truly terrifying condition and it's portrayed really well here. Alex can finally feel other people's joy! I completely understand your struggle between Ryan and Steph because both of them are fleshed out characters that are good fits for Alex. I've done both of them and love them both, so I'll support whoever you decide. Next episode is my favorite, so I'm excited.
That shirt memory makes me think Mac isn’t a bad guy he’s just a jealous guy. Maybe he was super insecure and thought he was going to lose Riley to Gabe even though that wasn’t what was going on at all. Oh wow the Eleanor part was so sad. She is forgetting so much. She had even forgot Riley and also Gabe’s death. Maybe Mac did actually get the call and tell somebody not to do it. Maybe he lied about not getting the call so the company doesn’t get in trouble. Maybe he’s scared of repercussions from telling the truth? I’m really curious on what’s going on. It definitely seems deeper Mac might actually be innocent. Now with him saying the mining company runs the town I almost wonder if he actually is scared to tell the truth because he fears the company. Oh wow he actually did tell them. I wonder how deep this goes.
When Gabe explains the joke (furthering his legendary love of birds and bird-related lore), Alex's reaction is the best! The whole "Property of the Crown" line delivery is perfection.
Love the end of Chapter 2. The funeral is so peaceful and hopeful, despite the sadness. It's really well done. And the decision between Steph and Ryan.. yeah they balance them really well. Not going to spoil, but just follow where you think Alex is, and go with it.

I imagine it feels like you're mourning the person they used to be as you slowly watch them lose themselves, it's truly heartbreaking. It was great to hear your thoughts throughout as always, and I agree with pretty much all your thoughts about the game. I think you guys made all the same big choices as I did as well! I walked away from Mac lol, I also told him he was guilty. I just thought, if this was my brother everyone in my way is going down. Just because they told you to deny it, you still have a choice.
As someone who had to deal very closely with 3 loved ones developing dementia, it's gut wrenching. I feel so bad for Eleanor :( It's truly horrifying what brains can do to us due to illness or aging or other reasons. On a brighter side, the stuff with Ryan is such a delight and I want to romance him next time. His happiness is so engulfing!
So, the whole hugging or handshake thing is because Alex doesn't like people touching her. She likes to keep her personal space clear because of the whole feeling people's emotions thing. That's why you get the option to hug or shake Gabe's hand in the first episode and then that woman hugs you and Alex acts uncomfortable. It's not really meant to be a sign of how much you like someone or not.
