    Hi Faith, you are so right. I am a Pharmacy owner and the conditions with our finances are so poor we are all struggling .
    The stress of being a Pharmacist with all the roles are very demanding and what's more there are more services being added without address to the real issues. I feel very let down by our negotiating teams and the our pay masters.

    Thanks for the video. I discovered your channel today. 😂 I am close to quit from the community pharmacy. The main reason? Leaving me in an extremely busy stores (central London) with no dispensers for 3-4hrs during 10h shifts. It's just exhausting and became a regular problem. Managers don't care! 😮 On top of that, facing patient's anger and frustration because there are 5-7 days backlogs/doctor strikes and me alone not willing to self-check for hours! It's just so bad and depressing and burning out. 😢 I prefer being a locum and choose the pharmacies I want to work for, not being forced to cover the worst stores and risking my licence every single day. A day after my shift as a relief I got a locum offer in the same store just for 170% of my wage. This is our reality.

      Hi Vicky, I would still highly recommend doing it depending on what your reasons are…..
      Community Pharmacy does not represent the entire pharmacy profession in the UK.
      These are things happening right now, they may not be like that forever.
      Weigh your reasons against the cons and make an informed decision.

      @faiththepharmacist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chioma, I would recommend it depending on your actual reasons. Feel free to send me a DM of why exactly you want to do it.
      The world of pharmacy is getting bigger so if community pharmacy doesn’t improve, there are so many other avenues to practice or use your license/degree that will pay off.

    You are right faith, they don’t rate us at all and I have no idea why? Is the fault from the pharmacist governing burdens or we as professionals? So many questions but it’s a. big issue.

    • @faiththepharmacist
      @faiththepharmacist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly it’s baffling. I think it’s a combination of both the government and the professionals who dont ask for what they’re actually worth.
      Hopefully something happens that will change this in the near future.

    • @sakuragi5160
      @sakuragi5160 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@martinmcgurk5150 but tesco is much more enjoyable to work for as a locum than other places. They tend to not have a lot of items and the day is less stressful than other community pharmacy roles. You have to balance is it better to get more pay and be stressed that day. Or get the £20 hr but be chilling most the day. Since there are pharmacies paying £35 to 40 per hr. But that pharmacy is either really desperate that day or youre in a pharmacy with lots of items or understaffing

Also, do a video on OSPAP as how challenging is it and is it possible with kids and part time job to pass OSPAP and GPhC registration? Please guide, I'm very confused whether it will be possible as an overseas pharmacist, a mother and with 4kids?

    Hi Faith, loved your video. I would advice your pharmacy to become more proactive and provide more private services as opposed to just nhs services. Are you familiar with pharmadoctor?

    • @faiththepharmacist
      @faiththepharmacist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As a part of the NHS contract which all pharmacies need to be able to run effective services, most NHS services(also known as essential services) are mandatory.

    How much pay raise/cut did pharmacists get compared to last year?

    • @faiththepharmacist
      @faiththepharmacist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Strangely pharmacists are getting pay rises…..Atleast 10% pay rise per annum.
      Unfortunately the environment you’re asked to work in sometimes is not worth the pay rise. So look before you leap

    • @sakuragi5160
      @sakuragi5160 ปีที่แล้ว

      My fam own a pharmacy and im a pharmacist and the nhs has cut so much money on pharmacies etc and trying to make them pointless services or make it so hard to get a service ie like covid some pharmacy owners cant be asked. Then medications are more expensive such as atorvastatin 80mg is now 3.60 from 1.80. Then staff in community want higher pay as life has become more expensive.. But community pharmacies are being paid less with higher prices to a point they are making pharmacies close down. And f9r the new gen no one wants to buy a pharmacy since its 500k to 700k sometimes a million. Why wouldnt someone buy a house with that money. Community had it's generation of mircles where a lot of the old dons benefited by being able to buy 10 pharmacies. That's why no one can keep up. Also you can become a pcn pharmacist in gp or hospital isnt as good as you think. Especially hospital has the same stresses as community.. Also during covid the community pharmacies were front line in dealing with patient problems. Gps wouldnt even see people face to face. Yet the government doesnt even mention pharmacists and only talks about doctors and nurses. It is like we dont matter to the nhs. 😊
