I love the Hobonichi cover line up this year. I'm ordering Yumi Kitagishi, Tomitaro Makino, Liberty Hollyhock, and accessories. I ordered the Sterling ink planner with the gold gilded pages for 2024. I think the Twinkle Tweed would also look gorgeous with gold gilded pages. I wasn't crazy about last year release, so I know how you feel. I like switching my covers to go with the seasons. I know I'm weird 😕
Not at all!! I change up my covers throughout the year all the time. This year there are a few from Hobonichi I actually like! Last year there was only 2 that I really cared for. Switching out the cover gives the idea of a "new" planner to me and can make it much more exciting :)
I know I'm late commenting on this video, but I'm binge watching from the start. For 2023 I started purely bullet journaling and went through 3 LT1917s for the first half of the year which started to get expensive. I was late on the Common Planner train, but I was able to get a B6 Dated Half-Year from July to December and I fell in love. I didn't have to draw out my spreads and I had the free space I needed to journal and track the items that I needed to. So for 2024, since I missed the pre-order, I panicked and ordered a Hobonichi Mega Weeks in navy for my EDC, but was also able to order a B6 full year Common Planner to use for planning and journaling (although I am still waiting for it to be delivered 😥 ).
I hope the common planners get delivered to you soon 💝 I know the USPS has been having a lot of struggles due to the holiday increase in packages. As much as I disliked the wait, the planners were so worth it!
I want to love a hobonichi - because as much as I LOVE a common planner, it just doesn’t FEEL the same in hand if that makes sense. I wish they would make a grey scale version because then I’d be totally sold. But I am making my own hybrid planner/journal anyway next year so it is what it is 😂 But I wish I could love a cousin and live in it all year long. Maybe as a memory keeper??? Who knows.
The color scheme is a bit off, this is true. Using it as like a yearly "scrapbook" is definitely fun though! I think the hybrid planner/journal is always a good choice though. You can get everything you want that way!

Your monthly looks great! I use a discbound planner and I’ve been ironing out the wrinkles in my inserts. I’ve been trying my hand at making them myself😂. I love the flexibility of the discs but there is something about Hobonichi that’s tempting! It’s the only bound book that has ever gotten me and I love the spine on the cousin. And the cat cover Hon! I’m also a cat mom and I feel like they’re judging me for not getting it 😅

I will be in the A5 undated common planner, the EC monthly planner, and some notebooks for different reasons.

This will be my first year with Hobonichi - using it for my business planner because it give me a ton of planner and note space which I've needed to help me remember what I need to do, or write explanations to remind myself. I bought a full Cousin half price to try it out for this year and love it - though I don't cute it up as much as I see here. But still trying to find a way to mix both cute and functional.
That is the beauty of Hobonichi! There are lots of creators (like me) who make it more artistic, but there are also a lot who use it very functionally! This planner can do both and do it well in my opinion :) I'm excited for your future hobonichis!
2023 was the first year i used a hobonichi - the only reason it was this year though was because i finally found a cover i was in love with. the aristocats cover convinced me lmao. i love it and i'm sticking with my hobonichi planner (as in the one that's like the cousin but just with the daily pages, not with the weekly pages) for next year. i like having the dated pages and the A5 size is perfect for me. i haven't decided if i'm going to stick with my beloved marie cover or switch it up, but i think i may just keep it for next year as none of the new covers are really appealing to me. i do like the bow & tie hon with the cats, though.
Ooo I love the aristocats covers! I got the pencil boards since I already had some other covers I wanted to use. I love the bow & tie cats too. Really tempted to get a HON with it!
I think autumn also depends which calendar you follow. As far as I’m concerned Autumn starts Sept 1st as September/October and November are Autumn, December, January and February are Winter etc 😊 but I know people see the months differently
I agree. The season's are slightly different depending on where you are located too.
Love the video. I’m starting off in rings, dated DIYFISH printables and then either moving to Standard TN or B6 bullet journal. I am not buying anything dated because I went ham and bought a ton of notebooks that I just need to use. And it will help me use up my sticker stash also.

Honestly, the oversaturation of planners this year has me kind of annoyed. I am actually thinking of easy peasy A6 bullet journal. I always enjoy your videos -- I will be curious how you like the Common Planner!!
There are SO many. It is annoying to have to pick and choose (if not slightly stressful) but I'm glad that small companies are branching out with new designs!
Bullet journals are always a solution though. Perfect planner because you make it exactly how you want 🙂
I’m switching from an A5 cousin to a sterling ink B6. I found that the A5 was too big for me. I also liked that the cp back pages will be undated. I also pre-ordered a passport size. Not sure what I’ll do with that.
You're going to love your CP! The back pages are so free haha. For the passport you could use it as a "purse planner" or for quick lists and tasks. Like an inbox of sorts

Oooooo I haven't thought to use a Hobonichi Weeks for daily card pulls but this seems like a really good format. I may have to convince myself I need more weeks now haha 😂
@@mydandeliondiaries oops sorry 🤭 I'll use the monthly section to write the card/name and then the weekly section to write the meaning! That way I have a monthly overview of the cards I pulled that month and if I wanna reread the meaning I can easily flip to the weekly

I like the idea of the weeks format for card pulls! I don’t currently do a daily pull but it’s on my to do list. I thought it might be fun to make stickers with the card art and put the actual image of the card in the daily pull journal. Or maybe I’m just addicted to stickers and that’s my answer to everything 😅

I digital plan right now but I’m getting the itch to go back to paper. However, to replicate my digital hobonichi system I’d have to get undated planners as I use two monthlies per month (one for events and appointments and one strictly for bills and budgeting), 1 weekly per week for time block planning, and 2 pages per day (although I could probably do a running dashboard on a pencil board and the 1 daily page) but this set up would mean I would need 3 undated planners in a year and I’m not sure how I feel about that or what I would use the extra weeklies for. The planner chaos is real!
Wow!! You have such a unique system! Maybe if you did a Common Planner and used the blank pages at the back to create more monthlies/weeklies that you would need, and then have a separate notebook to use as dailies? I don't know if there is a "single" book system that would work for what you plan with. Or you could try Sterling Ink's new traveler's notebook style booklets and put them into a little system? That may be easier to manage than two larger books.
If you’re okay with discs or rings, you can add as many of each insert as you want 😊
I’m new to Hobo. I just ordered weeks and the a6( smaller not the big one) .
I hope you love it!! When I first found Hobonichi it was like planner peace for me. The weeks is a little work horse and the A6 works great as a small journal!
