Interesting enough, apple is now arm, windows went all arm, Intel and amd are still x64 but including neural units on those APU combos we know. Things are wild now. What about raw graphical power?
While they can make arm chips, money wise, it does not make sense for AMD to prioritise on designing arm chips. Just like everyone else, AMD is required to pay license fees to ARM to make arm cpu chips. This is also why nvidia intended to purchase ARM, in order to avoid arm licensing fees. And the real growth market is in GPU, NPU, the demand for arm and x86 cpu is growing slower. One AI task requires 10 gpu, 1 cpu. CPU load is so low, OpenAI can afford to use intel in some of their servers. For many applications these days, CPU is not the bottleneck.
They did. They presented the world most powerful GPU: MI350X, a 2.6 petabyte monster with 288 GB of memory at 6Tb/s. Shame on CNET to cut all of GPUs announcement
