    The fact that Brunswick is sending stuff already. Shows how valuable you are to the bowling industry! The ball looks damn good! I already picked up a hybrid 2.0 I like it. Goes a little long for me at times, but the 3.0 is going in the bag ASAP.

    First.....Thank you Brunswick Corp. for hooking Mr Rosdahl with your brands. Now to Mr. Rosdahl I was so looking forward to your review of this ball and you did not disappoint. Like I've said in past videos it is so nice to have a lefties point of view and now that you are independent it just means we get your expertise across the boeard! Can't wait to see what you have in store down the road!

    I agree whole heartedly. I used to bowl in tourneys and sanctioned leagues and my last ball was a black widow bite. Just started back up and got a 3.0 and bowled a few sets. Definitely feels like if you run it out to the one board early it'll spin up on the friction and enter a little flat, but you can tighten up with high speed or run 2-3 arrow (what I like the most) and be comfortable. It eats up the oil as long as you are consistent. I know it's a year late and other balls have come out but this ball is perfect for a bowler like me, trying to get back into it and growing up with a ball. (It was drilled barely up pin for me) For reference I'm only throwing 14.5-15.5 mph right now and working to get the rev rate back up. Used to throw about 17 with high(ish) flare or went high into the oil and tight. Black widows always seemed to react well for me. Prolly just right ball for right person but *shrugs* I love 'em.
    Also super refreshing seeing a 1H Left hander ball review. Everyone says we got the advantages, but damn if it's not hard as hell to find a 1H left hander video. Appreciate this review will help me keep messing with it. Black Widows have always felt like the most versatile ball for how I threw it, so it feels great getting back into it with one. (It's probably just a preference, but I really like the way this ball reacts so far)

  • @vance836
    @vance836 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I said in another video that the Hammer effect is real. Their stuff is so good and yet few people use them outside the Widow line. I think I was the only one in my league a couple years ago to throw the OG Scorpion and there were 32 teams in that league and I averaged 241 with it. This 3.0 is just about in cheat code territory. You could literally drill two, one at box surface and one polished up and be the only two balls you take to league outside a spare ball. I asked Nick on his channel why the BW was so cheap where the new Hazmat was $10 more expensive and he said the Widow line was so popular they dont want to mess up the value it brings to the brand. But wait until you throw the Hazmat and Trouble Maker Pearl providing you have plans to punch those up. That HK-22 base is on another level.

      @LukeRosdahl  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't think the 3.0 will be quite as strong as the Harsh, but it's definitely stronger than the Power. The Power fakes a lot of strength out of just being really responsive, but as far as actual dig, the 3.0 is close to the Harsh I think.

      If I get an X-Cell I might, but I'm not sure I'm going to get one of those. Having seen a lot of both though, the X has a weaker cover, so it's not quite as strong, but is a fair amount sharper or more responsive.

    Luke, question about this ball. I am planning on getting one for sure but very highly considering a second and polishing it up and drilling it pin down, Do you think this core will preform well pin down? The idea would be, start right with the pin up, 2000 cover, then 'ball down' to the pin down when it gets to over/under. Just not sure if this particular ball will have that type of versatility. Thanks, Jon.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I mean, asyms are kind of the perfect balls to drill pin down because the asymmetry gives you the torque to keep them from being TOO smooth.

    My buddy and I both drilled one tonight and didn't find it to be that great. My buddy throws it around 17 to 18 mph with easily a 500 rev rate and the thing hardly wrinkled. Other stuff hooked just fine as he can make anything look good. Any thoughts on why it's not rolling good for him? I hit mine with 1k on the spinner and the more and more I threw it the better back end it had.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Again, it's really strong and it comes sanded out of the box, plus it's pretty smooth, so it's probably just too much ball for whatever you're bowling on. Hitting it with 1k is going to make it very early and smooth, and if you're bowling on a house shot with not a ton of oil, it's going to be extremely slow reacting. Throwing it more shined it up more, so naturally that's going to make it more responsive. I think it's just a misunderstanding here of what kind of ball this is and how to get it to react the way you want it to.

  • @mattvongruben

    Were those the first shots with the low flare? In the video u say the 3.0 is earlier but it sure looks like those first few with the low flare picks up sooner? I could be confused.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I kind of covered it somewhat, if unclearly, the Low Flare actually was duller than the 3.0, so despite it digging in earlier, I think that was because of the surface, I think the 3.0 is actually the earlier ball. Once I got a little lane shine on the low flare, it settled down, so that's why I made sure to reference that. This is one of the problems that is caused by just filming out of the box, because I'm trying to compare balls, not surfaces. It's obviously confusing to hear that one ball is earlier despite clearly seeing the other ball dig in sooner, and me trying to "fix it" with some wordsmithing doesn't sound right.

    Hi Luke, I have been watching your video's for quite awhile now. I know you are a converted left hander and your bowling style is very similar to mine as I am a left hander also. Your ball speed and rev rate looks to be on par with mine. The only thing that did bothers me is why you had always change the ball surface out of the box, instead of throwing it out of the box and then making a surface change later. Me thinking, how in the world would Luke know how the ball reacts and shapes if he never test it this way? Anyway, Thanks again for a great video!

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem for a while was that Storm's out of box surfaces were really bad, and the center we film at is so busy that if the surface on a ball was bad, I had to go home and fix it and wouldn't be able to get back out for another week. That's mostly what made me do it, but generally speaking, box surfaces aren't great for ball reaction either but we're going to go with it now and see what happens.

      Oddly similar believe it or not. The DNA isn't the big chug monster it's supposed to be, so despite the slightly stronger core making it roll a little earlier, I've got the two pretty similar. 3.0 is a little smoother, little more versatile I think, but I do like the DNA and it has its own purpose
