      Ehhhh, there is a lot more stuff on there that he didn’t explain like the Eco mode obviously it saves energy but how? That’s what I wanted to know for when my customer asked me how that saves them money so for anyone who is curious it slows down the fan at the condenser but it’s still operating just not at 100% so it’s still moving refrigerant just not at its full capacity.

    Finally somebody intelligent, great instructor…. Just wrong remote for me… the only videos I found with the correct remote for me, a total failure. They really need to learn how to use TH-cam so they can turn on their volume buttons. If they’re going to instruct somebody on how to do something, and the first video she didn’t even have the definition of the right buttons… She might want to look up some real information on her remote before you start trying to instruct people and get them more screwed up than they already are!

    what drives me stupid crazy about Daikin, is they don't show the temperature of the room on the remote. It should show the room temp by default on the display. Say I walk in and it's just a little cold and I want it 3 degrees warmer..there is no way to know this, you just have to turn it on to 70, and if it's too hot..turn it down to 65, it's a huge oversight in my book. I love Daikin, but their systems software needs to join the 20th century.

If I set the first unit to 72 degrees, then take that remote to another unit and change it to 71, how do I know that second unit is now at 71? What if it was set to 77 when I pressed the button? Wouldn't that just change it to 76 even though the remote says 71?

      @@Ibanez012003 You need to runa diagnostic from your remote. It will land on a malfunction code. I know because I went to turn on our units for the first time this summer and mine just did the same thing. I got a U0 code, so the AC contractor is on his way out to take a look at our units. They were installed last summer and we used them for about 3 months. When I went to turn the units on today for the first time, I also got the blinking green light on the unit. Right now I'm just running the fan, and that works just fine. You run the diagnostic by pressing the cancel button for 5 seconds and then you keep pressing it sequentially until you hear a long sustained tone. After the long tone you'll see the malfunction code displayed on the top of the display screen of your remote control. From there you can go online and see what that code means, but it likely needs a service call. At least if you know the malfunction code you can tell the service person.and it will help them to know where to start. Hope this helps you.

    I had a Daikin 9000 installed into our bedroom.
    The whole purpose is to be able to cool the bedroom only down at night for cool sleeping, without cooling the entire house.
    The problem is - want to cool bedroom to say 67 degrees - so set on remote =67, cooling mode, fan to low (first indicator block) BUT the unit keeps on cooling after it reaches 67 and continues to a lower temperature.
    QUESTION - how do I control or set it (like a thermostat) so that the temp goes to the set point and not lower ? Want to do this automatically. The only way I have found is to turn it off at 67. We want it to hold at 67 while we are sleeping and not go to 63.

    Great video and it helped answer several questions for me but still, I cannot get my Daikin to function as I think it should.
    1) If it is placed in either heating or cooling mode the outside unit will cycle on/off as expected but the head fan never shuts off. For me, this makes the room very uncomfortable.
    2) In the auto heating/cooling mode, again the outside unit will cycle on/off and the head seldom shuts off. This has made it impossible for me to find a comfortable setting. This AM I had it set to 78f and it was much too warm. The head was in heating mode and the head fan was blowing air. I reduced the setting to 77f (one-degree change), for several minutes the head remained in heating mode and continued to blow hot air. When it changed to cooling mode the fan was really pumping out the air. It has now been about 4 hours since the one-degree temp change, the head is still in cooling mode, the room is uncomfortably cool, the head fan is still blowing cold air.
    The room is 15.5' x 15.5' and has 12' ceiling.
    The model number on the outside unit is RX18AXVJU, the head is FTX18AXVJU. Per the invoice, it is an 18,000 Btu unit.
    The heating/cooling mode is Auto, the fan is Auto
    Suggestions???

    • @wormoSTEEZE
      @wormoSTEEZE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Similar issues with ours. The temperature detection seems worthless so I’ve had the best luck setting it to heat or cool on the lowest fan setting depending how I’d like the room to feel.

    • @johnterdik4707
      @johnterdik4707 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@wormoSTEEZE Elsewhere I discovered that if you use the AUTO for heating/cooling mode the temp must change 8 degrees from the setting before it will flip modes. Obviously, this is ridiculous. In the same video, it was suggested to use the manual modes and keep the fan on the auto setting. So far this has been working great. The downside of this is I set the temp for 70 in the heating mode (it was really cool outside). Later in the day the temp outside was almost 80 and the temp in the room got above the setting for the Daikin and became uncomfortable. Daikin does make a smart thermostat that will give you true auto mode between heating and cooling but it cost over $700 just for this control and you get to install it. Some guys have got other thermostats to work. I found one video where the guy got his NEST thermostat to work and for $50 he would make the necessary module to connect the NEST to the Daikin. I have not followed up on this. Also there are other smart thermostats that can be used but I need to do more research (already I have too many projects and this will be delayed).

    • @paultheplumber8665
      @paultheplumber8665  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hi... Just got this in September and have a question about the auto mode... Once set to auto, it will work the heat and cold to maintain that temperature (say 75 degrees) If the garage is 88 degrees it will cool away until it hits 75 and then shuts off until it rises again say 78 degrees (not sure of the degree amount it allows for) ? Or does it go into a slow/low mode and continues to run until the power button is pushed to off? As for the cooling mode, it never shuts off (or so it seems) it just keeps cooling away? Or is it supposed shut off at say 75 degrees and it was started at 88 degrees? It NEVER seems to shut off when reaching a set temperature, sort of confusing.....

      Same issue. I'm keeping a bedroom closed so a cat doesn't get to my plants. We're getting cooler nights and I wanted to maintain a temperature of 66 degrees. Set it to Auto since the manual says, "In AUTO operation, the system selects an appropriate operation mode (COOL or HEAT) based on the room and outside temperatures and starts the operation. The system automatically reselects at a regular interval to bring the room temperature to user-setting level." This morning I walked in and the room temperature was 63 degrees while the outside temperature is 39 degrees! It doesn't make sense to me that the unit would select a cooling operation when it's colder outside than it is inside. I guess I don't understand the purpose of AUTO mode, and I'll go back to using only HEAT or COOL. But then I have to constantly adjust the temperature setting, or power off entirely when the room is comfortable.

    Hi, thank you for this video. Does this remote display the current temperature in the room? Or does the unit itself have a temperature display? Thank you. I couldn't find it in the video or the manual.

      Thanks for watching! Neither would actually display the current temperature in the room. The remote will only display what you set the temperature to.

    my remote is not the same as yours. my unit is brand new, first use today. still don't know how to keep the room cool, not cold and not have it run nonstop. where to get that info? So far no one can tell me and the manual does not explain well.

    Just started renting an apartment with these units. They all have a limit of 18C(all I've used before has been 16C) and the main room never seems to get cold even though it is blowing coldish air. We've been in the apartment for 2 weeks and I haven't had to shut it off or turn the temp up because it's gotten too cold.
    The other bedroom units however, when set and running for a long time don't cool down as even though it's set to cold mode they seem to only be blowing in a fan mode with room temp air.
    Is there any suggestions to check these out? They were supposed to have been cleaned and serviced before we moved in, is there a way something happened during this?

    My Unit has a Clean Button, does that Clean out the Unit? It's just weird because I thought you had to clean the Unit manually.

    I have a Daikin 9000BTU in a room that is 300sqft. It was just installed and does not bring the temps below 69F and even takes a long time to get there. Is there something wrong? I even maxxed out the fan!

    There’s a lot of stuff on here that he didn’t explain like the eco-mode. Now I know what it does but it slows down the fan at the condenser so it’s so moving refrigerant just not at full capacity and saves the homeowner energy

    I have what appears to be the same system as showcased in this video. Brand new. Just installed in November. Tried to use cooling just yesterday and no cold air coming out. Just warm air. The guys are coming on Monday but there are no remote issues, no error codes, the area near the heads and the outside unit are clear. Everything appears fine. What the heck is going on.

    This could have been an excellent video overview but hold the remote still enough for a longer period of time so viewers can actually see what you are going to do or what you did do.

    is there anyway to have the cooling air go continuously even though it’s already that temperature in the room. Mine cool air wont work because it’s already cool in my room.

    • @paultheplumber8665

      You could turn the temperature on the remote down below room temp, or you could just put it in fan mode to have the cold air circulate.

    I hope you can help my PTP. I read all comments before I asked and didn't find my answer. If it is set on the mode for removing humidity (rain drops), then is the heat/cool mode controlled as if it were in automatic mode (A)?

      Hey Malisa, for the most part if it is in the dry mode you are talking about it will be in cooling mode. It doesn't really apply to heating. Hope this answers your question. Thank you for watching.
