Mariah's struggle tone hit different 🥺🥺. One thing I've noticed about her voice is that even when she's struggling her lows and mids are always so fluid and clear.
She really tried to belt. I can see the effort in her body language but the nodules just wasn't having it. Rooting for Ms Carey and her vocal recovery.
All my other videos got taken down, this either means we’re getting the performances in pro audio (most likely) or they just didnt want this concert online
She needs to realize that is time to choose from 2 obvious options: 1. See a doctor and get the nodules remove and lots of vocal training or 2. Quit gracefully as a legend and enjoy the rest of your live as one.
Or maybe just allow this woman to be human and age vocally... it just sucks that her songs are super difficult in structure... so its harder for her to alter the songs in her repitore without it being so noticeably different. So she's in a tough position.. sing her current songs only like from caution which are way closer to her vocal abilities... or alter her songs a little to seem its like the original and pray it goes well when her instrument is larger than it was before, and has changed..
Even though she struggles at the second chorus, her tone is out of this world in the verses of this song, and what can I say about the ending? I’m in love with this perfomance.

I am so sorry for her! She should immediately go to a good vocal coach to fix her vocal problems. SHE NEEDS THAT TRAINING. The vocal nodules is ok a problem we get it, but she still should be able to access her daily used chest voice and connect it to her head voice. Sustaining a note has been so difficult for her last 10 years. Please Mariah put your ego down and go to see a real vocal coach! we are all so sad for what your voice has become:(
That’s the funniest part because she has shitty technique nowadays on top of her vocal issues. She could really fix a lot of these quite easily and quickly considering she has been doing it in the past. Half of the vocal struggle in this video is just her pushing every sound when it should be pulled back to back off the pressure. It’s such a rookie mistake and she’s doing it over and over again. It’s no different than someone just karaokeing this song. A simple session from a vocal coach would fix half of her problems here in an instant. I have to get constantly reminded of what I did wrong and then it just magically fixes itself. Simple tips and tricks would do wonders for her as she’s already way too experienced that she’ll get it right away.

i’ll say this. at first, i honestly thought it was all her fault.. which to a sense, it is. the reason she sounds like this lol, but then i forgot she’s been recording an album. the album itself is exec produced by L.A. Reid, and the last time he did that was emancipation. mariah talked in that era ab how hard he pushed her vocals.. and we saw how she sounded before that album dropped bc of it. she just needs to rest a bit.
I'm being VERY objective here as I love Mariah to death. 0:59 has bothered me since I first saw it two weeks ago. At first I thought there was some sort of a health thing going on as her movement was very jerky and her recovery gave me a slurring vibe, which really concerned me. Of course, I wanted to analyze it a few times over. It appears that she was relying on the playback at that moment, it failed, and so she had to come in live quickly. Given these circumstances I understand the context of her behavior in this performance a lot better now. Additionally, I know that lip-singing is frowned upon in certain countries and this must have been a very special engagement that she was paid well for, to essentially sing live. Please let me know your thoughts and correct me if I am wrong. For the record, I have no problem with her lip-singing as she deems necessary, provided it is not the majority of a performance, which it is not here. 🙋♂
The playback always cuts off at that part, it's been like that since 2006 (or 2010 lol) And I'm also concerned about her current vocal state. I just hope this was just a bad day or her voice just being overworked by recording her next album (I say it's the latter since she was having some issues in the Global Citizen gig too but they weren't as apparent)

Well it's time to abandon her old songs relying on vocal acrobatics and move on to something more suitable for her vocal abilities now. Also; Vocal coaching is a must at this stage. Most of this performance is lipped eh.

Anyway, she was flat and winded here. What are the excuses this time? She hasn't been touring at all so surely her voice should've recovered by now, correct? There are many factors, some of which probably include: 1. Excessive alcohol consumption.🍷 2. Inadequate rest. 3. Lack of vocal warmup/ exercises. 4. Anxiety/stress. 5. Damaged vocal cords and pre-existing nodules which become increasingly challenging to deal with as one’s age progresses.

@@rainbowstarmced191 how about all of them? We all know she has no discipline in taking care of that voice. And you forgot one thing, VOCAL LESSONS. She’s no longer in her 20s. She cannot get away with push belting everything at her age. Her mix needs to be looked at, and her breathing and support need to be revisited and relearned. She can easily learn those back because she’s been singing her entire life and her technique wasn’t really shitty before. Just a couple of foundational lessons and she would address 50% of her constant issues. It would gain her more confidence and would make her sing significantly better during her “off” days.

I’m sure a renowned singer like Mariah who’s been singing professionally for over 3 decades knows practically every vocal lesson in the book. She just needs to be consistent with vocal exercises which I doubt she is. Also, we don’t know what other challenges she may be facing in her personal life you know
