Rob is huge asset to his station and community. Ratings have to be killing the other TV news channels. He has my sympathy however, every stop Fresno, Bakersfield, Detroit etc has been in one of the worst rated cities in the US, next stop Birmingham, Alabama or Oakland, California?

I remember someone tried pulling that scam on my parents. My dad kept telling them no and they kept pushing for a yes. My dad finally said listen leave, or I'll make you leave and then call the cops. They left immediately

It’s most likely because of the way they have their “business” set up. They probably have an LLC connected to a parent company which basically makes their assets untouchable. That or their assets are under another name.

NJ has some of the toughest consumer laws in the country. However, scammers seldom own any property, real estate, vehicles, etc., in their own name. Everything is probably in the name of this guy's mother or someone else, making him Judgment proof.
Fox 29 does investigations like this and so does 6 and 10 but not as tough as 29.

If the NJ AG's office has a $17 million Judgment, why isn't the State of NJ executing that Judgment and collecting? Especially if the guy has property, real estate, vehicles, etc. Chances are it is probably in the name of his mother or some other relative. I was always under the assumption that it was just travelers who happen to be conniving and they were of different races. The fact of the matter is that there are multiple groups who have been prosecuted and demonized to the point to where they are forced into nomadic life. If you didn't call someone for an estimate, just say no. Also, these travelers are bad news.

The hit could have been done by the family themselves, for insurance money. It's easier than having a tag sale, or selling things online, plus the ins co would give them top dollar if receipts were produced.

There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many contractors without licences these days they fall into a giant pile of guys who get busted for the same thing. Not having a contractors licence, and not being bonded and insured is why these paving operations are illegal

The problem is insurance, you go in there breaking stuff hoping to piss them off but all they get is new stuff from the insurance money. Clog up their pipes with grease and paper now they're stuck with humongous plumbers bill. For the asphalt king, they chose concrete for their personal property.

Who says they paid for it? Owning something like this goes against the "Gypsy code." Targeted vandalism being one reason (if that's what this was), needing to disappear in the middle of the night being another. My guess is they were as perpetually underwater as possible, meaning they made money when they disappeared and the banks can't find them.

It appears they finally went under in 2011, a bunch of their trucks and equipment were up for auction in 2012 (some of the family members tried to steal them out of the auction yard).
