They nailed it with this game, so brutal and gritty. And I love the fact that the body armor in this game actually Catch bullets and does not show blood when hitting the vest. Also the Euphoria was such a nice touch.

The dark story, atmosphere of desperation and tragic fate of Max himself and everyone around him. As if he was meant to spread death, but couldn't die himself. When I say realistic, I don't mean gameplay mechanics or the idea of one man killing armies of gangsters, but the overall feeling, mood of the game's story. Life is a nightmare, it is struggle, it does hurt and turn people mad. A lot of quotes from the game can be applied to the real world. The difference is that we are not heroes, main characters, but merely background NPCs in the real life
the game's killcam mechanics doesn't want to trigger when you shoot the enemy in their feet, thus making it impossible to progress since the game always wants to use the kill cam for the final shot in most fighting segments, until ofcourse you shoot him somewhere else.
replaying this really made me appreciate the aiming and gunplay they went for, I wished the game was longer and the cutscenes could be skipped, they missed out a little with the potential but they still have the recipe and can only hope they use it more indepth for a new gta or even ip

Bullet time, the dark and gritty noir-style narrative, even the way enemies would react to certain limbs getting shot.. but regardless it showcased what Rockstar, as a collective, was capable of. This was also the peak of Rockstars physics engine before they overhauled it into what GTA5 has.

This is how max payne is supposed to be played minimal bullet time or when it's the most cinematic other then that normal speed good aim and hit the enemy where you want to see them react to it....and no assisted aim
Fantastic game. Just finished the trilogy for the first time recently. I think my favorite is Max Payne 2 for the balance of the story and gameplay. I like 3 moreso for its gameplay, but Max Payne 1 has fantastic presentation and the shooting still feels good.
Well they used the same engine but they obviously had to tone it down since using the engine to this extent in an open world game would’ve exploded the x360 and ps3 lol
@@Sashashka V is so grid based with its lack of physics that the only thing they really brought over were the graphics and they downgraded those too. MP3 has a reliance on free interaction ragdolls and V glues all entities on a grid, that’s why the NPCs teleport to the ground when they get back up. They’ll even clip through whatever they fall on because all their animations only play out when on the grid.
The beginning of the video is so funny where you keep shooting the guy in the feet, you look like the guy on the paint ball videos where you shoot on the enemy player but he doesn't want to stop playing so you keep shooting him 😂

Petition to remaster the Max Payne trilogy. Hell even just remaster this game and i would be head over heels. This was about as good as the physics got for rockstar. A perfect mix of weight along with the spaghetti western craziness of RDR lmao. and it had an awesome soundtrack, what a gem.

Manhunt and Max Payne. Games we will never see again since GTA is what makes Rockstar and most fans happy. GTA5 was already in Devlopment when tjis was being made plus. Rockstar were focused on the open world. And Driving, flying, Mini Games there is so much more to worry about.
