👍🏽 cant wait to see everything by MID SUMMER! 6:35 too funny... "Smell it..!" We all need a smell-a-phone for that 🤣🤣🤣 and that giggle! 😂🤣 I have chocolate mint too... but my leaves are way smaller. 🤔 Always have been smaller. I think mine need way more fertilizer 😅 As for Lemon Balm... whoooo! When she takes off and flower, she WILL DROP SEEDS. Remember to take ALL dead flowers off after her blooms are finished... or you WILL get new plants, because they will be popping up everywhere. 😮 Ya garden and food forest looking GREAT!
Finally, a TH-cam gardener who is growing chocolate mint. That stuff smells just like a peppermint patty! Watch out for spearmint. That plant is a real thug in the garden! Grow spearmint in a pot by itself. What is better than catnip is catmint. Catmint makes good tea and is not invasive. English lavender (Lavandula officionale) doesn't like wet feet and loves the sun. English lavender flowers are edible. English lavender pure oil is for putting on cleaned small scrapes/cuts and then covered with a band aid. It doesn't sting and you will heal without a scar. English lavender and Rosemary oil are germicidal. Oregano is great in Mexican, Greek and Italian cuisine. You could get thyme seeds but you can also propagate thyme by taking cuttings and rooting them. Thyme is used in French and English cooking. Your strawberry patch is impressive! So healthy looking. Comfrey (Symphytum officionale) leaf makes a wonderful poultice and cream to put on bruises, cuts and broken bones. We can eat it because it can be bad for our liver BUT wilted chickens can live entirely off comfrey which is 26% protein. Grazing animals can eat up to 30% of their diet from comfrey. Comfrey is related to borage. Moringa is a wonderful African plant. To see if it is still alive gently scrape the bark with your fingernail. If you can see green right under the bark, it's alive. The Moringa trees leaves and beeans are very nutritious. Swiss chard is related to beets. Blueberries and cranberries need acid soil. get some peat moss and dig it in around those plants. They will perk up and the fruits will be larger. In the Pacific Northwest, the blueberries are the size of nickels and fruit for a month.
All looking good! We're ahead in 9b: dug 15 lbs new potatoes, sampled several wax beans today and call Kroger all the mulberries!!!! 😮😮😅 Go 'head, Broke!
I don't wash it either.I probably wipe it off on my shirt or something but i'm not washing it. If you grow it you can eat it however you won't. nice tour. Thank you for sharing. Everything looks beautiful and healthy. Have a blessed day
Broke, love the food forest. You’ve inspired me. Putting these 4 blueberry plants in the NC clay. Y’all pray for these doggone plants. I’m up here in the itty bitty backyard I’ve been blessed with & it’s gone do what it gone do!
I like to put onions at the edge of my beds now too. Ever since I saw snake eggs in one of my planters a few years ago, I said the onions and garlic will stop that.
Holy cow, your garden is looking aMAZing, Broke! 😮❤🌱 Dang, uou even got all that growth on your potatoes already. 🥰 Dill from seed, that IS a big “DILL” 😂😂😂 Yup, like you were talking about on your live, its an investment. Better to grow it once, harvest and dry those herbs! ❤ Watermelon Wars in full effect with that sprout! 🌱🥰 Can’t wait to see that fruit tree video!!! 💕
Hey, ! I had to watch this is two parts while I was on break at work. I just wanted to hop on and tell you them tiny little blue berries are for cooking. The skin of the blueberry conveys the color and the sharpness of flavor that you need to offset the sugar in preserves, jelly, syrup... . It's like wine grapes opposed to table grapes. 👍
@@BrokeFarmer Be prepared Blueberry wine has a tendency to be more potent than you think it is. It goes down like Kool-Aid and then suddenly you can't stand up.
First of all 👍🏾. Next, garlic 🧄 and onions 🧅 for days! Last, them blueberries 🫐 out there changing the game!!! Thanks for sharing and stay blessed fam! -Calvin
I am CRACKING up at you not knowing some of what is growing up. Its soo hard to label EVERYTHING esp when you have stuff popping up from last year lol. This is gonna be me in a few months lol
👍 Thanks for the update. Those blueberries look great. I don't know if I can keep them alive but I ordered that pink lemonade cultivar. Yours look so healthy and prolific!
I’ve just started watching your videos 🥰Asia from yellow door urban suggested your channel. I’m really enjoying them so far. The thyme going to flower will produce seed I live in zone 10b I have cilantro and dill doing the same they grow well in some shade I’m finding out 😁
Nothing if I can help it but this year gonna spray the fruit tree with iv organic white wash for Japanese beetles and castille soap if I get a bad infestation on something
