    Hi Roland, maybe you figured it out, ATwin comes from Africa Twin...
    I am one of the lucky owners of a CRF1000L2DCT aka Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports Dual Clutch Transmission (long description as you mentioned it) 😀
    Your review is spot on! 👌
    Thanks Roland, ride safe!

      Thanks man :) Good to hear from a other twin rider about the review video.
      You too, Ride safe and keep the shiny part up :)

    Nice ride man! 😎🤘Yeah those Hondas are very reliable... Yamaha and Suzuki are very reliable too! I have a 1988 Suzuki Intruder VS750GL and this thing is bulletproof... Very low maintenance with the shaft drive... I got it for 500 US dollars and my insurance is 100 dollars a year! Very awesome! Looks really cool... It’s funny the guy that sold it to me hand painted “Hardly Davidson” on both sides of the tank and it looks awesome... Made me crack up...

      Yeah, Japanese bikes seem to be the best :)
      Hardly Davidson 😃😂 yeah that’s a good one. You kept it that way?

    • @briandonahue3197
      @briandonahue3197 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRideWithRoland Yup! I kept it! It’s really done well actually! It is done in a old Harley style too! It blends in nice. The bike is a burgundy reddish color and the Hardly Davidson paint is like a orange color... Looks really good hahaha! 😎🤘

      I’ve got them from HEED. Very good and very affordable. I’ve made a video about them plus how to install them. th-cam.com/video/JnadqLRL1E0/w-d-xo.html

    Have ridden the African Twin with DCT, which is really easy, but it shifts up too quickly for my liking.
    So downshift manual once in a while, can understand why you picked the non-DCT.

    • @TheRideWithRoland
      @TheRideWithRoland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I’ve heard it’s doing better in the sport modus. The normal setting is just useless. The problem with dct for me is that, especially on long trips, I need to do something to stay awake etc. Plus I like to have control all the time. But ofcourse dct can be very handy sometimes

    • @Meifesto
      @Meifesto ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRideWithRoland I prefer it without the DCT as well, just because it shifts up to early, to be eco friendly etc.
      Now cruise control... that I would like, especially for commutes ;)

    • @TheRideWithRoland
      @TheRideWithRoland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Meifesto yeah it’s a really missed chance for the 2019 models that it didn’t have cruise control! It has electronic throttle so they could have build into it. At least in the adventure sports model, what is the more luxery - travel version. I had to put that in the cons

    I notice you have a Dakar decal on your windscreen, when did you ride there ?
    I ride there in 2008

    • @TheRideWithRoland
      @TheRideWithRoland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, as you may know, the Africa twin won the Dakar a few times. So both twins I have has Those stickers. It just suits them nicely :)
      But did you ride the Dakar race or just in Dakar? :)

    • @onahi2002
      @onahi2002 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRideWithRoland No, of course didn't ride in the race. I'm not that rich. However , I did ride Africa, on my BMW R1150GS. Before everyone jumped on the bandwagon. Rode down through 🇸🇳 Senegal to Dakar. We did make a video journal. But it got lost. Only one small episode of it remains, which is posted here on my TH-cam. We are in the desert just north of Marrakesh.

    Hij voelt misschien topzwaar maar ik kan uit ervaring melden dat dat voor een groot deel door de vering komt. Ik heb deze door een professional laten upgraden, zowel voor als achter en echt waar; ik stond totaal versteld van het effect op de wendbaarheid, het leek alsof er 30 kg vanaf was gehaald, wat niet zo was natuurlijk. Dus dat is een aanrader! Kost wat, heb je ook wat.

      Oh no, there a lot coming, I just had a very busy week and those episodes are really hard to make. 30 hours of editing each episode is really nothing special 😬 so don’t worry :) they are all coming :)

    Great review. Out of experience... the oem crashbar really does not work at all.... :-( And a new tank is really expensive.

    • @TheRideWithRoland
      @TheRideWithRoland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I installed the heed crashbars. The problem with the stock ones is not the bars itself, but how it’s mounted to the bike. Just with a few very weak screws. The heed has many solid points to Mount and is very sturdy.
      So I can crash it without breaking the bike 😂

      No worries, I just didn’t had any time to make one. Every episode takes about 30 hours to create, and I cannot always combine it with my work (TH-cam is not paid and yes, even I need money sometimes 😂)
      But, next week I hope there will be a new one :)
