I bought the BenQ projector a few months ago and I'll never go back to LCD TVs again. Nothing beats having a movie theatre in your basement and I can finally see the difference between bluray and upscaled DVDs. The image is amazing.
I think your confused. at 4320p it would be 16x. 1080p is 1920x1080 or 2,073,600 total pixles. 4k / 2160p would be 3840 × 2160 or 8,294,400 total pixles 4 times the amount of 1080p.
I ueed to own the 5020. BRIGHT PROJECTOR! Had better than average black level, good contrast n color, but was slightly noisy from its auto iris. One thing of note was a more obvious pixel structure compared to other tighter pixel projectors from JVC, Sony, and Mitsubishi, back then. All that was workable however. Not sure if it had anamorphic capabilities. Because one could use an anamorphic lens and that would help greatly!! The main benefit of the 5020, imo, is LARGE SCREEN SIZES!! The bright mode on that PJ was actually workable color- wise!!! Most pjs in vivid mode were WAY too blue biased blue. But not this!! .. you could effectively get TWICE the image size on this Epson vs every other Home theater PJ at that time! If you find one cheap, may be worth a try for large screen application
Why do you show us two different pictures of Epson Home Cinema 5020UB, first one is with black grill in front and the second one is with gray grill....
I game on my 120" panasonic projector with my PS3...works great. But I would have to say the JVC DLA-X95RB is one of the best projectors out there including price (4K). I don't agree with this top 5. But for the serious gaming my pc is hooked up to a 42" Panasonic LCD.
I have been waiting for 29 days since my 1080p DLP Benq projector has been broken & in a box & still have no Idea what Benq North American support has done with it or when I might get it back. Apparently there should be a tracking number out there somewhere but they have not been able to supply it or the projector to us for the last 9 days. I am starting to think they have either lost it or have it sitting in storage to aggravate the situation some more . They also make you pay for shipping to a repair shop half way across the country & not to the closest one in Halifax only 4 hrs drive away . Zero communication and needless delays receiving RMA # have turned this into a 1 month plus very bad experience for a simple fan replacement and dust in the supposedly sealed lens . Beware::: Terrible service for a 1 year old unit still under warranty .
I just recently bought the epson 3020 picture is great even in eco mode make sure to tweak the settings to get the best picture you can only complaint you can hear the iris at times not a big deal for me atm im using the built in speakers which arent bad even with those up loud enough you will not hear the iris is not like its a loud noise also projector is very quite which is def a plus
Why didn't you include any Optoma Projectors in this list. They have excellent quality picture and low prices. Are they like the Dish Hopper your not allowed to talk about them.
sorry, can you say all that again? i was totally distracted by you either bobbing your head to every word youre saying or doing a bad impression of you standing in the worlds weakest wobbly washing machine. somebody get this guy some core strength.
I love my BenQ w1070 and I use 3dCorp Glasses which is more then half the price of Benq model which I tested and these hold up to the performance of the BenQ glasses. ^_^
I like hitachi. Even in a well lit room you can still see it. I've had 3 of them none are as good as the hitachi. And the best TV are Visio. No other TV can come close to the picture quality
Man!, this info is old. 2013 I wonder if I may find some of this at any Pawnshop?. What ever?!, I know. I've seen some advertisement at Best Buy for projectors starting at about less than 50 bucks, but I want to avoid the: "You get what you pay for", if you know what I mean?. If anyone here know about projectors, etc, I would like to ask this question. Can you help me decide?. This is what I need the projector for. First. the room is 14 x 13 or just a little smaller (I'm guessing it). I want it mostly to play movies on line using my PC. My PC already has dvd player. Besides movies, I will use it for TV, youtube, checking my Emails, playing a few games, etc. The sound comes from the PC. I may buy a white screen 10 feet wide by 5 feet (May be 11 feet wide x 6 feet at a distance from no more than 14 feet away from the projector. Any ideas?. Thanks in advance.
***** Thanks for the info. When I buy one I'll let you know. I'm sure there are three basics issues to keep in mind when buying one. 1. Image Quality. The more pixels, the better picture. Lumens, etc. 2. Ease of use. Not complicated. 3. Reliability. Several connectors to the pj (USB, etc).
Wow guys really you left out so many good projectors out there. Didn’t even mention the S and 50-50 what is 6050 Or any of the other true 4K projectors. And for the record the Benq shouldn’t even be in the lineup boo on you
I'm looking forward to when 4K projectors start becoming affordable.. Because a 50" 4k TV is just plain retarded. Unless it's being used as a monitor, the extra resolution won't even be able to be appreciated.
bought the epson 3010 as soon as it came out, kicks ass right out of the box and works with cheap 3d converters.i love that it looks evil, because it is,its a bad mother f&&*(!
0:56 "evil robot vibe..." FFS stop it, acting like a childish goober isn't amusing. Does anybody act like a mature adult anymore? I came here to get an opinion on projectors not some lame comedy routine. It's like living in the real world version of Idiocracy.
these are great!, you can pick up the best of 2013 for like $500 on ebay if your lucky, move up the latter if you like the whole projector thing. I bought a $2,000 epson for $250 on ebay. still 1080p
I bought the BenQ projector a few months ago and I'll never go back to LCD TVs again. Nothing beats having a movie theatre in your basement and I can finally see the difference between bluray and upscaled DVDs. The image is amazing.
Where is the Panasonic PT-AE8000U? It's up there with the Epson 5020 but it has motorized lens memory for 2.35 super widescreen projection screens.
I think your confused. at 4320p it would be 16x. 1080p is 1920x1080 or 2,073,600 total pixles. 4k / 2160p would be 3840 × 2160 or 8,294,400 total pixles 4 times the amount of 1080p.
huh.. so what can i get for 50$
ebay is really good for getting quite inexpensive projectors:)
great idea, thankyou :)
no problemo
A crowbar and a map with directions for the nearest school/office building.

Please, guys can we have an update on the projectors?
Why do you show us two different pictures of Epson Home Cinema 5020UB, first one is with black grill in front and the second one is with gray grill....
I agree. The Panasonic AE8000 is pretty sweet!
I game on my 120" panasonic projector with my PS3...works great.

Are all these 4k (2160p) or 1080p?
I'm looking for something to use for live music shows.
You guys should REALLY do a "budget" projector review, for those of us looking to spend $500-800! (which could get a great comparable tv)
But how about the panasonic projectors?
At 3:21, they accidentally placed an image of the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3020 instead of the 5020UB.
Well vizio now is gonna make a 120inch tv dont know when its gonna be released
Do a vid on top pocket projectors next
Where is the Panasonic PT-AE8000U?
ben q is the best and the cheapest if your new to buying a projector and don't know what to buy trust me folks you cant go rong with benq

there all 1080p projectors i think the cheapest 4k projector that i know of is the sony one $19,000 (on amazon)
Hi there. I'm looking forward to buy a home theater projector for movies and Xbox gaming. Would you recommend this projector?
Thanks John for you advice. But I've already bought LG PA1000 and its doing fine for me. :)
03:11 So, in total 4 ?
What is in those 3D glasses?? 0_o
The Vivibright GP100 is a GREAT home projector selling for less than $200. I cant reccomend them highly enough. Comes with 3yrs warranty as standard.
This dude is awesome, thanks for the info "awesome" dude.
I agree. This dude should be selling cars not repeating information he doesn't have a clue.
I can't believe that these guys got it right. I love my 5020ub.
I love my BenQ w1070 and I use 3dCorp Glasses which is more then half the price of Benq model which I tested and these hold up to the performance of the BenQ glasses. ^_^
4k is 4x the quality of 1080p so I don't think these are 4k projectors but 4k = 4320p.
W1070 is definitely the best C/P ratio product
You know what, Donald Bell isn't that bad, keep it up Bell
I like hitachi. Even in a well lit room you can still see it. I've had 3 of them none are as good as the hitachi. And the best TV are Visio. No other TV can come close to the picture quality
Man, can they make the names, for these anymore complicated?
These prices suck
i can buy a caravan cheaper than that
Your missing the panasonic pt-ae8000u......BEST PROJECTOR FOR THE PRICE ON THE MARKET!!!!

Viewsonic PJD-7820HD projector
Great review than anyone could understand. You don't want to be seen bringing in a 50+ inch TV in some areas.LOL

I'm looking forward to when 4K projectors start becoming affordable.. Because a 50" 4k TV is just plain retarded. Unless it's being used as a monitor, the extra resolution won't even be able to be appreciated.
this guy was to negative.
2 pairs would be 4 3d glasses..........
I have 4 out 5 in my home......really
But... you are the first!
Projector Bulbs have a life expensity of 1500 hours which means it could last just 1 hour
Maybe 5 years ago. Bulbs on current projectors get between 3 & 8,000 hours, depending on the unit.
May I recommend a book called "Dictionary" that may help you to spell "expectancy" correctly next time.
O aren`t We Precious

Big TV's are for people who don't know any better.

Don't forget the 500 dollar projector bulb that needs replacing every year!
TheArfdog You watch TV and movies with all the lights on do you? Weird. And I have a white wall that I never have to put away.
