    Hi Gloria! I have read some of the bks. you recommended; LOVED The Snow Child, read it maybe 8 yrs. ago. Definite re-read for me. The Hazel Gaynor C-Mas book is in my Dec. basket(as you know I love her). Have the Frozen River, unread. I just finished a historical fiction book based on a true story. The Underground Library by Jennifer Ryan. Another fave author of mine. It's not the underground you're probably thinking. It's an underground shelter during the blitz in London WWII. I gave it 5 stars. Will never forget this story! I believe it was published just this past July. SOOO good!. Thanks Gloria😊

    Love Tuck Everlasting. Boy in The Striped Pajamas and A Well Behaved Woman are both still on my to read shelf. Might have to check out A Lady's Guide to Fortune Hunting and Last Christmas in Paris. Love the cover of The Frozen River. 😊💙

    Love Tuck ❣️
    I didn’t get along with Snow Child. I loved it at first but it shifted and I didn’t care for the shift.
    I completely agree that it does have atmosphere❄️🥶

    I really should read Tuck Everlasting as it sounds wonderful. I think Outlander is definitely a case of one where I enjoyed the tv show more than the book. I really enjoyed A Lady’s Guide to Scandal this year - great fun. I should read the Guide to Fortune Hunting. Historical mysteries are my favourite type of mystery by far. I love the AJ Pearce books but haven’t got to the third one yet. 11/22/63 is brilliant. Also loved Where the Crawdad’s sing. Great list!

    I read a lot of your books, Where the Crawdads Sing, Snow Child, Hum if you don't know the words, Dear Mrs. Bird, Nature of Fragile Things, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, one I will never forget, and the others were all good in their own way. I like to read Homegoing, Loving vs Virginia, Frozen River and 11-22-63. Here is another two for you Only the Beautiful by Susan Meissner and The Brilliant Night of Stars and Ice

    • @GloriaZThompson

      Thank you for the recommendation! Only the Beautiful is on my to read list, and another ship sinking book sounds interesting! You might like Unsinkable by Jenni Walsh. I read that earlier this year. Dual timelines, sinking ships.

    I just finished reading a WWII historical fiction called Long Way Home by Lynn Austin. It follows 2 timelines. One about a Jewish family before and during the war. The 2nd was after the war about a soldier suffering from PTSD and his female friend who tries to save him. It's complicated and not a movie but an excellent read.

    5 star for me this year was The Roaring Days Of Zora Lily by Noelle Salazar. Check it out. I also loved The Snow Child....so good. A great winter vibe book is Pearly Everlasting by Tammy Armstrong. Recently finished it and it was a 5 star for me. Happy reading. Loved the recommendations

      Thank YOU so much for the great recommendations. I had never heard of either of those and they both sound so good and unique to what I usually read. Pearly Everlasting in particular intrigues me.

    • @donnypeters-y9c
      @donnypeters-y9c 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @GloriaZThompson the whole logging camp on winter in Canada during the depression really adds to the bleak winter aspects of the book. But Pearly and brunos story really steals the show. Soo good. The Zora lily story is not in my usual type subject matter but it's very captivating and intriguing as it's set during the roaring 20s with a current day timeline as well.

    If you liked Boy in the Striped Pajamas you should read All the Broken Places. It is the story of what happened to the family after the end of the war. From the point of view of Gretel.
