The actor goes through a good 4 or 5 different expressions from the lazers going out to the shot being cut. Like - anger, hate, indifference, peace, tranquility. It's nuts.
The darkest thing in this great ending scene is undoubtedly this little boy‘s expression, (1:06)from the joy that meeting his hero, quickly turning to fear of imminent death.
This must be the best ending of a pilot I’ve ever seen. This gets you hooked in the show and there’s no turning back. Thank you Kripke and Anthony for this masterpiece!
Jack Quaid’s delivery of Hughie saying, “What?!” after Butcher tells him he is not with the FBI was just perfect and hilarious! Also, Antony Start’s smirk at the end of this episode was damn terrifying, a perfect way to show Homelander being a villain! Someone give him his Oscar already!
