The darkest thing in this great ending scene is undoubtedly this little boy‘s expression, (1:06)from the joy that meeting his hero, quickly turning to fear of imminent death.
The actor goes through a good 4 or 5 different expressions from the lazers going out to the shot being cut. Like - anger, hate, indifference, peace, tranquility. It's nuts.
This scene is just amazing. You guess that something is wrong and suddenly he burns out of his eyes, and the viewer's jaw drops with the impression. And then that's his look. Epic!
