Am I the first to leave a comment? This is some good stuff! Great information, beyond the features of the building. All inclusive history of the building - thank you!

@@dennistice982 My grandpa, cousin, and I are going to visit your town next Sunday as we drive the Lincoln Highway. Dunkles and the pot were the big draw but I will be sure to check out your church and courthouse. Take care Dennis and keep Bedford awesome!

That's a beautiful small church. Your explanation of how the architecture style called Gothic came into being is very interesting. Thank you for a wonderful video.

I heard somewhere along the line that gargoyles, like gurgles, were fixtures that spouted water and they had a similar name for those that didn't?

    • @dennistice982

If they don't spout water, I believe they are called a grotesque.

Very informative video, but take your hat off when you're in a church for goodness sake.

Good one Gunner! :-) Since the filming was done in front of a green screen (for better audio and video control) I filmed with the hat on (to cover my very ugly head!) I see that it does pose an etiquette related quandary...since I placed the church interior in the background. Thanks for watching.

His freshman-tile explanation failed to distinguish the Norman french influence from Carolingian romance French proper.. Gothic style evolved out from Normanic Romanesque on either side of the AngloNorman channel, and guess what..? The Norman heritage is of course the Viking Dane, a northern Germanic people very similar to the Teutonic goth & Anglos too another Germanic goth related people & thus not unworthy of such Goth title..but feed in on your infantile portage TH-cam tards.. & believe all the great lie narratives that imprison your mind in the Anglosphere basket cage you call history.. Of course the Viking raids of Lindisfarne had totally nothing todo w Charlemagne’s religious war campaign of pagan eradication & mass baptismal beheadings of northern Germanics.. No it was just that Vikings are but savage brutes & thieves..

Sir, you are an ignorant. The Norman style was exclusively romanesque thus french. The Gothic style orignated from Ile de France ( around Paris) not Normandy !

The disdain and arrogance of your comment calls into question the integrity of your information. Not sure what your purpose was in sharing it but had you conveyed it in a nicer manner, it may have been worth reading.
