Mine burnt after 1000 miles completely dumb found ridenow won’t even try to submit to warranty unless I’m willing to pay for them to fix it if it’s already taken apart if warranty won’t replace it

Slipping the clutch under power wears it over time but that’s normal. 2nd heat glazing, high rpm and a lot of slippage can get the friction discs glazed where they lose friction coefficient
the rubber boot that covers the clutch wire on this platform frequently gets gets caught when releasing the clutch lever sometimes it's not noticeable that it's slipping unless you give a lot of throttle check during riding or cut it back so it doesn't interfere with the lever
First question is why this is not being done under warranty. It is under two years old. Did you use regular or synthetic car engine oil and that burnt your wet clutch voiding warranty. Did you soak the new clutch plates in the right kind of oil for the right amount of time before install. Add did your use the right kind of oil for the fill. The crank case/trans/ wet clutch have the same oil lubing everything, so you need to be using the right kind of oil. with a special additive package. Car engine oils do not have this in them.
@CharlesR.SteinruckIII it's a wearable part. They won't warranty a wearable part. No I go to the dealership cause I have a service plan. They do my oil change and checks. My warranty is not voided. Yes I soaked them in the right oil...
@@Jtschultz60 Hello, Yes, your warranty in the clear because your dealer has done the services. You are the first clutch problem I have seen. I watch all the TH-cam 450 SR/SS platforms out of Europe and Asia. Has anybody made you aware of a clutch problem from other platforms. Since your dealer was doing your oil changes, they should have seen your clutch material in the drain oil and made you aware. When did your clutch start slipping. Around what milage. When you were removing the clutchplates from the basket the first couple disc did not look as bad until about the 4th disc then it started to get worse at least to the camera. They should have shown equal wear on all clutch discs. Were all the steel disc heat burnt blue. Again, what the camera was showing. Did you find anything to point to why this happened or what to watch for. Thank you
@@Jtschultz60 My clutch just bit the dust at 5700 miles, Although I was pretty hard on mine. Multiple burn outs, and tones of wheelies, and hard riding/pulls to 130mph finally killed it. I’m impressed the stock paper clutch held up as long as it did to be honest. Especially since mine is tuned, high flow air filter and deleted lols
I got the same bike, do you know what caused the clutch to burn out? I was starting to have problems with mine since I changed levers but I switched back to the standard ones and haven't had issues although I sometimes have to adjust the cable to remove slack
@YamatoSR you need slack, or it will slip. Leave slack in the cable. Just a little bit. And honestly couldn't tell you. I only got 6k out of the clutch so.
@@Jtschultz60 Oh wait really? 😅 Mine was doing that before I started doing this so now I'm confused xD Well as long as it doesn't slip for now then ima not mess with it
Mine has almost 9k kms on it and so far the clutch slipping was the only problem I had before due to the other levers (and cuz i'm still a noob at this bike stuff) but hey at least everything is fine for now and no other issues have arised
torque for case cover bolts is 10Nm, pressing plate bolt is also 10Nm. spec from service manual.

@waderice1499 not sure, my friend. couldn't find torque specs for them, so I just stugged them up and gave them a good tug.
