Im learning that God will never confuse us! I remember in the beginning of my stand I got a clear message that I was to stand but I was definitely on shaky ground and people and messages were always making me question if I should actually be standing. I finally asked God to show me a sign and to make it clear as day that I was to be standing (I have since stopped asking for signs because I’ve learned testing God isn’t good) and He did!! Since that day I haven’t questioned my stand. My soul knows I can’t give up. I can feel the Holy Spirit not letting me give up. But I will say my flesh always wants to give up especially when my husband does something that hurts me or angers me. That’s how I know it’s not God telling me to give up because it’s only when I’m hurt or sad that I get this overwhelming urge to give up but once I pray and ask God to take all of that pain and anger it leaves! If God told you to stand listen to Him and keep your eyes on Him alone! We got this standers because He has us 💕
Pray for my marriage for restoration and for my wife to be saved and set Free from bondages in Jesus name
Anytime I pray to give me an out and move on, GOD makes my love for her stronger no matter how much she is hurting me. ?????

Yes me too. So many times I want to quit standing, but then I keep praying. I had promised God that I would not divorce again. This is my second marriage. My first husband cheated and now my second husband too. It’s so heartbreaking. My second husband was a deacon in the church and a believer, so I hoped it wouldn’t happen again. My first husband was not a believer in God although he said he believed but his actions did not confirm this.

Sheila, in the first 4minutes you spoke what is exactly going through my mind. I don't recall God telling me to stand for my wife. I just did cause what she is choosing to do is so far different than the girl I've known for 38 years. I am hurting today because it's so clear she's choosing daily to be with this new guy and TOTALLY ignores me, like I am less than nothing. My non Christian councelor says I need to accept it, forget her, and move on. Well, I don't WANT to do that. I want her to return to God. And let those 2 decide if our marriage gets restored. I pray both those things happen!
Wow, that’s exactly how I feel. I stand because his salvation is the most important thing. I stand because I pray we get restored. It’s been 3.6 yrs - edit: it’s was 4yrs on 10th August 2023. I’ll stand until the end. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🙏🏼
Sheila, thank you for your honesty. I agree that not evevry marriage was ordained by God. The scripture reads "What GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER, let no man separate."
Just curious are you implying God ordains marriages between two specific people? I'm confused on that one. Ive seen many cases of a sinner turned Christian, or Christian turned sinner & all sorts of scenarios where the result of a failed marriage ended in success. My understanding of that scripture means that marriage was established by God, and therefore, people should not end a marriage. With marriage comes biblical guidelines. If we follow those guidelines, it's almost impossible to fail. Even if just one of us follows them. Regarding what Shelia said , I completely agree. You should not be standing for someone who belongs to someone else, like married to someone else or was married & that person is still standing & in God's eyes they are still one. When I hear the word ordained I hear predetermined etc & I just thought we had free will over who we marry.
Not ALL marriages are ordained by God. There are marriages where people get married for immigration purposes, marriages of convenience for money,, marriages in cultures where brides are under age, marriages that God did not intend yet the persons involved willed it for themselves, same sex marriages, etc. These marriages go against God's Character and word so how can Mark 10:9 be applied in these circumstances? I don't think that just because you get married means that God honors the union just because of the vows that were said at the ceremony. God is not in the midst of anything that is dishonorable or dishonest.
@Tane'ya Johnson thank you for that. I think people butcher that verse. It's not your marriage that's ordained by God... it's the whole concept of marriage that's ordained by God
God told me to deal with the residue of anger I have toward my husband and give it God. He also said run this race with a compassionate shoe on my left foot and and a forgiving shoe on my right foot. He said prepare The Way for my husband to come home as prodigal son to His Father. He showed me to be like the servants Preparing the feast by getting him a robe, ring, and prepping the food.
Please pray for my marriage restoration in Jesus name 🙏🏽
The longer time passes, the more my own wickedness is uncovered. I don't want to be wicked.
I quit standing for my marriage because I doubted if its God's will to restore my marriage.
It is definitely THE struggle for the stander. I still struggle myself. I just thought about life and how so much problems come and toss us around but we don't say "this life is just not for me I think God wants me to have another life" why didn't Jesus seek for another way other than death? He asked for it in the garden but in the end he said "Not My will But Your will be done Lord"
God is really using you. I lift you and your family up in prayer as you continue to be obedient doing the Lord’s work. Fighting for marriages and families. I know it’s not easy. I use to ponder … on Esther and how Vashti was “put away” maybe this is not Gods will because I was such a contentious wife and belittled my husband…I was so broken and angry at some of the bad choices he was making for our family. I reminded myself that God doesn’t bless anything that he’s against! If he did “released” him it wouldn’t be through adultery…deciding one day to pick up and abandon your family for someone else doesn’t sound like God.
My husband and I were together for 7 years, and just started our family last year. He left when our son was 3 months old for another woman. I stood once, and my husband came back exactly how God said he would (phone call between 12-3am). Our son that God showed me was born three years to the day of that phonecall.
Now that he’s left I just find myself asking if it was all in my head. God keeps saying surrender and I am scared.
This is GOLD!!! SO TIMELY!!! Because there are groups that have rules that you cannot talk about this!! And it makes me angry because of the confusion some standers are in!! This is exactly what I've been learning and preaching on!! 🙌 🙏 Never be afraid to speak God's truth about marriage and divorce! It needs said! We're all going thru this for a reason and it's for HIS greater good! To teach others HIS truth! -Lori
Sheila, I am so thankful for your courage to give this message. It came out just the way God wanted it to. You have been gifted by God to speak on these things in a way that is truthful, convicting, and sensitive to the heavy topic it is. This message was timely to me today because I am having some tough circumstances to work through that are threatening my stand. But, I am reminded that it is not about me from this message. It is about God and partnering with Him.
Thank you for this message. I am being lead by pain, hurt from the things my husband just said to me. I wanted to not stand anymore but God took me to this. What I felt deep in my soul is to pray, cry, hope for Kevin trust for him, believe that Jesus will find kevin, stand for his salvation.

Wow! This again was sooooooo powerful & so aligned with the holy spirit & the word Ive been reading etc. Nothing confusing. My situation was a bit confusing because multiple marriages/divorces were involved on my spouses part. Through the word , prayer & and fasting, I was able to determine what to do. It's not easy but you will know through reading the word specifically about marriage & through the guidance of the Holy spirit which is truth. You have helped me more than you know. I question The Stand ( started in 2017) more than I want to admit. This is HARD....he's married 10 yrs to OW, just heard they got a house from the apartment they've been in, not buying because they won't be approved. He legalized his adultery but he thinks God brought them together because I left him for another man. We were both wrong. Please say a prayer for me....
You are anointed Shiela when it comes to marriages and I love your teachings. Never compromise God's truth. Not everyone can swallow the truth and that's between them and the Lord. Also, demons hate the truth. Examination of the heart is much needed in the body of Christ. Amen.
I've been with my husband 7 yrs married 4
A pastor friend told me that he wasn't my husband
I disagreed
and married him anyway because I was in love and felt loved now 4 yrs later he decided he was leaving me and hasn't given me a clear reason to believe the challenges we face cannot be resolved.
However my blockage is standing is it what I'm meant to do, perhaps I should let him go, I don't hear a clear answer from the spirit
I have the desire to fight through prayer and self work and even suffering

What do you do when God is completely silent, He's not telling u to stand nor move on.
Then you stay the course and keep going. He doesn't need to redirect us if we are going the right way.
This is a on time message for I am going through in my life. I am still a little confused myself still, if I should be standing or it was just my heart that want marriage restoration to my wife. It's been over 3 years, praying with no results. Everyone is telling me to divorce her. She has even threatened to divorce me but neither one of us has made the move to. Still confused on what to do I need your help in standing with me in prayer for answers. I am tired

I read the article and agree with what you say. I’ve been standing for about three years and only recently like few weeks ago did I learn from a friend that my wife who divorced me 2 years ago is now engaged!! Tragically!! I will continue to stand but if it comes to the point, God forbid, that she marries and enters an adulterous union which nobody seems to be telling her, at that point do I move on? This is what I’m asking God? Mostly everyone has told me up to this point to move on, date around, etc. if a new covenant is established are you at that point “free” to move on especially if the divorce was done against your will and input and you were the abandoned one? Or do you just remain single forever bound to someone who as moved on ? Thanks for any input l.

What if there is constant infidelity? Every time I try to he’s and move forward in unity, there’s something else happening behind my back. The pain is too deteriorating. I’ve prayed, screamed, and cried and it would look like God is coming in and change is made but boom right back there. I pray and pray and treat him no different than before but man 😢. We’re heading into 10 years of marriage. 14 years together. High school sweethearts and these last 3 years has been miserable.
Standing is about repentance to God. This is not the same thing as "I am sorry." True heart repentance will turn a man from his sins because he truly hates what God hates and see's how his soul is deteriorating from it. You can stand while under the protection of God, to keep your heart safe while your spouse is snared in sin and still not set free. As Standers we need to know what real restoration looks like and not fall for "I am sorry" counterfeits that set us up for heartbreak when they reveal they are still snared in the same sin.

My husband divorced me. Do I move on or stand? How do you know? I fasted for 40 days for my marriage and God told me to pray for his salvation.
If I told you to Stand, you could probably do it for a day. But because you heard it from me, a person, it won't give you the standability, stability, endurance, perseverance and determinization to obey God, please God as you need to Stand. That is why you must know the will of the Father for yourself, what He is calling you, personally asking of you, and knowing that He is walking alongside equipping you.

This is my first marriage (11 years). My wife is divorcing. 1 1/2 years separated. A 5 year old. I really believe there is no negative feelings (anger, bitterness etc) as I question whether it is God or not. Of course I’ve had hard feelings but I am at a point of peace and neutrality as I question. I know this is a ‘scratch the surface’ statement because a YTube comment.
That's my struggle should i just move on in my life or should i have faith that God will restore my marriage

A prodigal spouse can say the most vile things to the stander.
Yes they can. That is what happens as a reflection of when they have been turned over to satan. Coming from that place where they are totally snared and blinded by him, the evil father of lies, they reflect him. That is why we stand for them to come out of the dark, to the light and be turned into the image of Jesus!

It will eventually get better. God power is shown best in your weakness and in, that His grace is sufficient. You will be moved to continue moving in God’s grace. It will take time but God is healing you. Love and blessings❤

I was married before was young and I was abused physical emotional and cheating on by my first husband. I knew I should of stayed and fight but my pastor and church leaders said to let him go God said it was OK I didn't know the word as I know now. Them I married again with my current husband which I have 2 kids my first husband that I divorced died 13 years ago. Am I cursed because I should've stayed with my first husband as my current husband left me 1 1/2 ago for his lover of 3 years I didn't he was doing this. I don't know what to do should I fight or stay as I caused this. Please advise

There are many testimonies of restoration after divorce in the standing groups. Search marriage restoration or standing Supernaturally and you will see the testimonies.
I was all in until you said some shouldn’t have happened.
The blood of Jesus covers a multitude of sin.
1John1:9 confess and he is faithful to forgive and cleanse of ALL unrighteousness.
Psalm 51:17
If one lives by your theory. David wouldn’t have been king, Paul wouldn’t have taught or written books in the Bible, Peter wouldn’t have worked miracles, Hosea wouldn’t have taken Gomer back, God wouldn’t have accepted King Manasseh, etc. please use wisdom and seek God when giving advice. So many turn from God because of these teachings.
Grace and Mercy is extended to all.
How can you say that God release people from the marriage covenant because they were not meant to marry? No ma’am, that isn’t biblical. Are you say God goes back on his work and that he doesn’t have the ability to take what the enemy intended for evil and turn it out for good?
When we assume that every stander who is standing has the same grounds and authority to stand we can get confused by some of the things being said. But not everyone standing is doing it because God is leading them. Two people that entered marriage outside of God's will could be called to be released. It IS biblical--We see it in Ezra chapters 9-10 where hundreds of men had to send back their wives and children they had because it broke the marriage covenant (covenant of Levi ) they were under with God to not take foreign wives. Not sure of your situation, but if your spouse is in adultery, marries the OP, then divorces her to comeback to you, and that OP wants to stand? That is the situation I am talking about.
I have seen many come into our group wanting to stand and realizing they were fighting for marriage God was trying to release them from. Like a woman that was in adultery, her husband divorced the first wife to marry her, then went back to his first wife. she came into our group to stand for him to come back. She learned about marriage and realized she was wrong for being in adultery and repented.
Another woman divorced her husband and had an online affair with a man from another country. Married him, got him a green card, he left her as soon as the green card came, he moved in his GF that he had the whole time.
We have had two woman in the group both standing for the same husband. First and second wives.
