I've seen hundreds of musicals and this one is right up there in my top 3!! It showcased in San Diego at the La Jolla Playhouse. It was nothing short of phenomenal. I sat with my husband and went back twice with friends because I couldn't get it out of my head. Rob McClure is Charlie Chaplin was spot on. His ability to move like the Tramp and his physical abilities and voice had me glued to the stage. And bravo to the gifted writer of this musical. We play the music all the time at home and have the sheet music which my boys are trying to learn. I Hope to see this back on Broadway!
I watched this 11 years ago (I know Chris) and then I saw his Broadway show and was floored! We all knew about his talents but when it "all came together" he transported us to an extraordinary place and time. It was a magical night at the theatre. It closed way too early (there was a reason look it up) which was sad but his music lives on. Look into the 2020 animated film that he scored: "Over the Moon"! Another brilliant score! Chris is so talented. Simply the best! xo Peace
