- First I would like to say that none of this would be possible without the awesome group of paddlers we have here, I am very lucky and deeply in debt (there is Ben Garrett, Alex Matthews, Michael Pardy, Dave Aharonian, Peter Carson and others).
Second, I would like to thanks Rowan Gloag for filming from the shore, a unique perspective on the race. Thanks for getting out of your boat while I was playing....
Last, in terms of safety, if you don't understand Tide races, ask for help before venturing in.
I hope you enjoy the footage, results of many hours of playing, and that you get inspired to go paddle and learn more....
Final note: Tide races, or tide rips, will have different looks and features depending on the ocean floor geography, the speed and angle of the current, size of incoming swells... It is entirely possible your tide race does not look like this, be ready for surpirises...
This is Part 1, the rest will follow when I have enough good footage and time.

jealous, very jealous!
my "pretend" tidal races are so lame compared to the flow of water that you have; my waves are barely surfable

Rainex on the lens before you go, but really out of hours of footage you get a few minutes of clean lens. try to roll often to clean it in between rides.
good watching

Come and visit? I would love to trade your water temperature for our amount of current, 1 month a year!
