The space live at the Royal Albert Hall is a good one. Then most live performances are great. The Great Escape, Neverland or Out of this World. All Hogarth on vocals.

I had the great pleasure to see, hear, feel Gaza on the 18th and 19th November 2019 at two unforgettable concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The song is a masterpiece in many ways!

I was at the 2013 Montreal Weekend. They did not have that walkway down into the midst of the audience, so this recording came from the Holland weekend. But you cannot even begin to assume that the people you see in the video are Dutch. A man or woman in the video might be from New Zealand, or South Africa. On balance, I'd guess they are mostly European and able to drive or take a train in for the weekend. The Holland event is held at a seaside resort with lodging available on site for the attendees. The concerts happen in a large tent erected for the occasion, with room for about 2,500 fans. Three different concerts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, making it worthwhile for fans from all over the world to fly in for those multiple performances and to refresh the friendships made in prior years. While the Montreal Weekend is a great experience, for Holland the band trucks in more lights and sound equipment through The Chunnel to really enhance the experience. They don't have to unload, assemble, disassemble and load up every night. Just set it up in the tent and leave it for three nights.
This year there are, IIRC, six Marillion Weekends scheduled throughout the world, with Montreal scheduled for the first time mid-Summer (Yeah!!) July 1-3, 2022. Tickets are on sale now!! Unlike a lot of bands that get reviewed by YT reactors, this one is alive and still performing (but don't wait too long to see them live. They are all past 60 years of age now, I believe).
Marillion's 2016 release "F.E.A.R." was voted #1 Prog Album of the Year. They have a new album coming out early in March of this year. "F.E.A.R" is an acronym for "Fuck Everyone and Run", a concise description of what the banking industry did to the world in 2008. As demonstrated by "Gaza", Marillion is unafraid to be a bit political, and they don't wear collars and leashes supplied by some entertainment mega-conglomerate.

A fabulous Marillion track with a lovely message - nicely done by your goodself.
Both Steve H and Fish have wonderful songs - I may donate you some Fish - both solo and with the band.
Only just discovered you, so not 100% how your donation system works - is it one song for each $3 Ko-Fi request?
I prefer Ko-Fi to all other ways to request, as no fees are taken - unlike PayPal.
But if you prefer another way. I will certainly listen.
And what sort of waiting time can we expect to have it happen?
Anyway lovely to see you doing such underappreciated music.

Thank you for your kind words Paul. Ko-Fi works great, just let me know what songs you recommend, as many as you want. I always try to over deliver no matter what you donate. I get to them right away.

@@MusicWithToddLedbetter OK Todd - thanks for your quick reply - I will send a track tonight - I am in the UK so late evening here - then some more after I have a little think. 😄
Can I send any type of music?
Just been looking through some earlier stuff - and was glad to see some Beste Zangers from 2019 - that series sure had a lot of fabulous stuff.
I will stick to Marillion first though, and try to pick some I think you will enjoy.

Steve Rothery is one of the most emotive guitar players in music. Marillion fans are often mixed, many live in the past and only like Fish-era. They are two different bands, Fish was edgier almost aggressive, the Hogarth era the band is more musical and thoughtful. Personally, I enjoy both for what they are. The last two albums are great but conceptual, you cannot just listen to one song.

I have to agree with you 100%. In my limited experience with Marillion, Steve's Guitar playing is highly captivating and brilliant. I have been enjoying some of Fish's newer works, fantastic! I need to get to more of them soon. Gaza is an awesome song!

As your channel has gradually developed and you have been working hard for your dreams, I hope that you will succeed, and I will give you my heartfelt praise and support from the bottom of my heart. made me excited The moment I am watching your video, everything in the world looks beautiful. Your video caught my eye on the TH-cam window on my cell phone this morning, and it made my heart flutter. The moment I am watching your video, everything in the world looks beautiful. I think the TH-cam world is the place where the dreams in our hearts unfold endlessly. Fragmented clouds are floating in the sky of the TH-cam world, cruise ships are floating in the river, and videos of happiness that each one should enjoy are always freely displayed. The quality is very good and the video is also very well made. Of course, in my personal opinion, the video I'm watching right now is the best and it's incomparable to other channels. As soon as possible, positive energy will surely rush to your video by itself, so please make more good videos of yours in the future. Even if I don't have to rush, watching your videos makes me feel like I'm getting more and more love, so my heart is very happy.

Hi Todd, I’m happy that you’ve finally came back to Marillion. Gaza is the heaviest song in their catalog. This song was in Holland, because I was at the Montreal show.

I’d really love to see your reaction to Neverland from Out of Season 2009. It really showcases both Steves. Hogarth on vocals and Rothery on guitar.

    Was it:
    A: Steve Howe
    B: Steve Hackett
    C: Steve Rothery
    D: Steve Hillage
This show was from Holland, but that would be hard to tell from the people since there are usually around 50 countries from all over the world represented at the Marillion Weekends!

  • @paulf2557
    @paulf2557 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Your comments about the fan pictures at the end are really not applicable - fans at the Marillion Weekends come from literally all over the world - especially the ones in Holland.
If you can try to watch a whole video of one of the weekend shows, which are usually held every couple of years and generally have 3 nights of music - all 3 sets being different - that is completely different. Tickets are hard to come by, so basically everyone in the audience is a real hardcore fan - and some of the worldwide attendees meet up every couple of years to renew their friendship.
A totally magical time is had by all, and the band all stay in the same place as the fans all weekend - mixing with everyone.
