For somnies who have listened to dreamcatcher's whole discography, i think this is pretty fresh. I dont think u will find a song thats like this in any other dreamcatcher album. And this is obviously targeted for more western audiences who are used to this sound plus the English lyrics. Anyway, thanks for the great reaction again!

This song is a tribute for the international fans, according to the girls, hence why the English lyrics in entire song. The live execution of this song was fun af and kinda emotional in a sense.
The music itself is not something Dreamcatcher usually does, so while it sounds "generic", it's still unique when we only use Dreamcatcher's parameter.

By the way, "Sahara" is on their first full album "Dystopia: The Tree of Language", not "Dystopia: Lose Myself".
Also, Dreamcatcher mini albums tend to have at least one EDM song, one ballad, and one rock song or heavily rock inspired song, so they tend to show a lot of different sides to them in one (mini) album.

only about half of dreamcatcher's songs are rock/metal derived. each album also has a ballad which are basically referencing their fans. about the remaining 25% of their songs are all different types of music. I think they were going for western radio friendly for this song especially since it's in english but of course that just makes the song more generic sounding. 'in the frozen' is another edm song that is structured much more like a dreamcatcher song.
maybe you should react to Dystopia : The Tree of Languange that was their first full album and their best album i think

I really like this song because I love Dami's voice in this song. I would say that it is one of my favorite songs by Dreamcatcher.

Dude I literally play the whole playlist without skipping ,I can't even choose a fav DC song , each and every song is a bop. be it ballads or metal or rock I always feel touched by their songs.

This song is generic but I still love it a lot. This is the kind music I grew up listening to so this song feels very nostalgic to me.
This is really a fan song for English speaking Somnias, really almost a love letter because they know how crucial foreign fans have been in their increase in popularity and album sales. Dami is not good at English pronunciation so there are often bits where she's singing in English that sound a little odd. Maybe that's what you're picking up. Sometimes the way she pronounces certain words sounds like she's from Brooklyn, like when she says 'Lock the door' in Boca. They have trouble with 'r' as well. Makes me laugh when I hear it.
If you're doing Dear next then it is definitely a love song to fans. Jiu worked on the song for months and confirmed that it was about her feelings for Somnias.
Sahara is from "Dystopia: The tree of language". These one is "Dystopia: lose myself".
PD: Dreamcatcher has always very interesting Intros in their albums, is something that you can't avoid when you listen to them 🤭

Their b-sides are different vibes altogether, but for me just as good and impressive as well. Currently I like to blast sleep walking, what and fly high while driving.
Rock = wake up, mayday, diamond, trap, curse of the spider, tension, sahara, break the wall. EDM = sleep walking, silent night, in the frozen, CGYOOMM. There's ballad like dear. There's song I don't have pigeon hole for it eg july 7th, wonderland, and there was no one left, red sun. Not to mention their special clips.

This song is very different from all the other songs of Dream catcher... am I the only one who got Alan Walker vibes ?!! It's a good song but, was expecting some metal elements from DC.. Their voice is sooo damn good but, actually, I couldn't recognize their voices in this song! As a whole it's good..
Sometimes you just need a song that’s like a cooldown from the other intense and emotionally driven songs from the album and I think this song is it (even though it’s still pretty energetic and the lyrics are emotional/nostalgic). But you don’t have to think about anything, it’s not complex. It’s just fun, it’s cute yet still very Dreamcatcher. And you gotta give them props for sounding really good in English. I think maybe Dami sounded different because she was close to whispering as opposed to the others and she tends to speak English with a slight British accent so I’ve heard.
I had the same reaction when I first listened to it. It immediately reminded me the kind of song that plays during the credits of a movie while pictures of the characters' fondest memories scroll by. Definitely a more straight forward song that let's their vocals shine. I think it's similar with Break The Wall. Both are very much "textbook" renditions of their respective genres.
I thought this song sounded generic too when I first heard it, but everytime I listen to it, I hear something new and cool.

Maybe you heard that intro in Dreamcatcher's Note. They're using it for the intro as well. And yeah it's edm, no offence to edm fans but it almost the same sound for every song. And I think that's just the way producer want it to be sound like.
at 10:50 ish u said it sounded familiar- the dreamcatcher Notes have a little snippet of this song as their intro melody

This song reminds me of the older techno style songs like "We're In Heaven" and "Everytime We Touch"
Musically, it's more a tribute to 90's pop and all the huge names at the time. Having lived through it, this brought back a ton of memories and did a good job of representing that wave in pop music. Similar with Break The Wall and 90's hard rock. Neither reinvented their respective genres, but they provide an accurate proxy, hopefully inspiring people to check those genres out too.
Might as well buy the Kit Album of Lose Myself and listen to the instrumental

I like to think that this is a song they wrote for us, international Somnias... In fact, I think I heard them say something like that in some interview (at the Showcase?), but I cannot be 100% certain...
I think Can't Get You Out Of My Mind is a great EDM sound from Dreamcatcher. They always do some tracks like this in their albuns, but this one is different since is more like for international fans. It's using pretty predictable beats and a very western construction, but I think It's fine since it's a Full English song. Totally makes a difference in their discography as a whole.
Also, lyrics is really cute. Can't stop singing.

The reason why the opening melody sounds familiar to you is because it sounds a lot like David Guetta's In My Head. When I first heard CGYOOMM, that was the first song to pop up in my head.
