This is what I've been needing, I was trying to figure out the next step for me now, after graduating in 2018, and having 3 years in security, I was looking at what's my next step... Thanks for making this.
Wow, this was so great I’m actually leaving a comment. Very in touch with what we would benefit from and why. You made the picture more clear, until this video things haven’t clicked with how everything I was learning actually connected in the real world. Well done
Hi Andrew! Do you know a scripting course focus on security? Looking to automated my security assessment with no impact of course to the cloud services
I really recommend assessing your daily tasks and trying to automate one of those. I find that the best way to learn something is to have a goal you want to accomplish.
Dear Andrew, I read a lot of blogs and material on the internet saying that we don't have to be in the IT field at all (basically not knowing any programming languages) to get started with Cloud Engineering because it has those languages built-in. I'm wondering, can I pursue Cloud Engineering (AWS is my choice) with no IT background at all? Thanks in advance!
I’m not sure what languages are built in. If they were talking about clicking around in the GUI then yes I guess that’s true but that’s also not what I would consider cloud engineering. I recommend learning a language
Hello Andrew, Do you think that I need the AWS Certified Arquitect to next obtain the AWS Cloud Security? And another question, Do I need to have 5 year of experience to get the AWS Cloud Security?
After watching this video, I am starting to wonder if I should just skip the SA route, and go for the Developer Associate + Sysops Associate + Security Specialty?
Very insightful video. I am looking for my next role to be a cloud security engineer. Do prefer AWS over Azure? I am currently pursuing Azure because that's what my current firm us using. What are your thoughts?

Whether Leetcode easy or leetcode medium programs will be asked in this role interviews? I am an automation engineer and do not have strong data structures knowledge. Do I need to learn ?
I have had interviews where I was asked to solve problems and others where I wasn't. I think it's very helpful to have a strong understanding of data structures for any engineering discipline!
Hello Andrew I want to be a cloud Engineer that also focus in cyber security so I guess cloud security engineer is that combination of both. I'm curious though, how's your workload?
I’m no longer in cloud security engineering but when I was I had a solid workload. Not too much but definitely not too little, I was solving a lot of fun problems
I'm currently a Network Engineer in a security focused role. I would like to transition to Cloud Security in the next 12-18 months. I have minimal programming skills, should I focus more energy on that or the Cloud Certs? I will be looking to get Az-900 and Az-500 in the next 3-6 months.
I think you should try to do both. I recommend ability to program at moderate proficiency with Python or nodejs and understand of at least one cloud platform.
I am doing the same. Currently a security analyst and looking for my next role to be cloud engineering. I just got AZ 900 and will be studying to get AZ 500. Also will be learning Python and Powershell this year
Seems like you mainly talked about certs and skill sets that are required to land a role in cloud security, but what about career paths? How would someone without any working experience in cloud break into the field when majority of the job postings require 3+ years of experience?
Hi! Andrew! Thanks for the great knowledge. Can I being a Mechanical engineer learn this? If Yes, please let me know the brief journey how to start with. Thank you.
DIL meaning Directed Independent Learning? You can take some of the advice and apply it to anything. Although, helpdesk doesn't really need security, cloud exp, or programming with any sort of granularity.

Hello, thanks for amazing video. I passed exam AWS Practitionier and AWS solution architect, but i dont have work experience in it. So what to do you think? it would be hard to pass aws security speciality exam without security work experience?
You should make a website out of some basic code. Then go into AWS build a project in there and write a blog about what you build into the website you made. If you really want to get technical run the website in AWS and write a blog on that lol
Do many cloud security engineer roles require US citizenship to get into the job ? I am an immigrant on student visa . I want to know whether I have scope in this career path. It would be great if you help me with this question.
I've been told I need to know Linux OS(centos) to become a cloud engineer or cloud security engineer. Anyone care to let me know how valid this is? While I'm sure learning a technology I'm unfamiliar with would be beneficial, I'm just not sure if it's a prerequisite for obtaining a cloud job.

Just in case Nodejs is a JavaScript runtime environment so you would have to learn JavaScript to program in node
node is different syntactically then pure JS but yeah you have to learn java script principles.
This is (one of) the best advice I've seen on TH-cam. Once again Andrew delivers. His recommendations are in line with mine.
Thanks Ken!

yes the aws ones are always great for cloud.

What degree I need for cloud security
Think that’s up for debate. I think a computer science degree is helpful.
Or a cyber security degree, depending on the type of work.
That really helped and I subscribed! 💪🏽

Grt video. Thanks. And Have you subscribed the A cloud guru course and their labs?. What is your opinion on that and is it worth the money.!
It was for a few certifications I’ve taken but it is quite expensive and I think you can find the same content out there on other platforms.
