Never liked dogs until we rescued a Rottie puppy (our first dog). Recently had serious medical issues and our Rottie was the best companion & therapy ever. He is definitely a gift from God.
My Rottie has never destroyed one thing. When he goes outside he brings a toy or a bone, upon returning indoors if he forgets to grab them all we do is say go get it and he chases back out and retrieves. Best breed ever!
You are so lucky! Ours destroys everything but mostly boxes & no furniture and we're ok with it. He is like a child and taught me how to be more patient. It's hard to get upset with his charming personality & incredible looks that he gives you.
Also, my Rottweiler came from my county's dog shelter. She was 5 years old when I adopted her. She is now 12 years old. I feed her half dry kibble than the other half cooked meat, greens, vegetables, and ground flax.

Yeah. A Rottweiler might be too much for beginning dog keepers. But I do love going to my friend's house to see his Rotti tho. He got a lot of free time on his hands so he trained her well.
You are lucky my friend! Get to play with a Rottie and not have to deal with his destruction of your own home. But it's all worth it. Our's is a bundle of joy. We would love to get another rottie but one is overwhelming enough already.
I've had three, all came out of shelters and one was ten when I got her. None of them did a bit of damage and all trained up easily so I could roam a local heavily wooded park with them off-leash and my current big boy, Lincoln, is allowed in fiver stores around me off-leash with no problem. Fab dogs, but not for everyone unless you put in the time for training.
You are amazing! Coco is off-leash also, still a puppy (9months), but I am sure yours are well behaved then him. He’s still learning. Luckily, he’s supervised 24/7.
I have a Rottweiler too. The best dog ever. Noel is the smartest dog I have ever had. She also is very calm and likes to cuddle. She is most happy in the company of people. I take her to long term care facilities. She is a natural therapy dog.
Wow! Sounds like you have an incredible gift. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that our Rottie can be a therapy dog and such a kind companion(use to have dog phobias, especially "aggressive" breeds). I learned no such thing, it's the owner that can shape them. He exudes so much energy(wiggles butt constantly), joy, & pride. I think he is smarter than most humans. I am extremely grateful for having him everyday.
Awe, yes Rotties are truly amazing. Sounds like you guys are very lucky to have an incredible companion. We feel tremendously lucky to have our rottie also.
Giving Rotties love & attention is half the battle of raising a great companion. Training & Exercise is secondary. You are so right about the love they will give you in return--it is indescribable
Good job sharing this with people. Much like huskies Rotis need lots of attention and love. Most people think they can just pick one of these pups up and have everything be a-ok. But like some other breeds out there they need a fair bit of training. More than just sit and roll over type training. But I love the Rotis that I have met. I've been blessed to have friends that had them and did a great job in the process of training them.
Great reply! A family member thought she can get a cute rottie puppy and leave in backyard for protection. I was not going to let that happen so we took Coco home from OK. We were so terrified (because of aggressive stereotype) and almost gave him away. One of the best decisions of our life was keeping him. Coco is loved and trained 24hrs a day. Seriously, turned out to be nicer than a bunny rabbit but protective when needed. He just had a play day with a couple huskies and became friends with one of them. The other Husky made it clear he was the Alpha. Huskies are incredibly beautiful breeds and might do a video on them.
I own a Rottweiler pit mix. He has never destroyed anything that he wasn't supposed to. That's the key. giving them things they can rip up. Whether it be old sneakers from garage sales, never your own. Or shredding cardboard for kindling in my burn pit. The key is outlets for possibly negative behavior and filling them with all the love in the world.
He’s much better now and only destroys what we give him (except for his bed). However our home still looks like a disaster zone from all the Amazon boxes and chewed up toys. I think he destroys his toys cause he knows that he’ll get another one. So he loves the Amazon delivery man.
Wow! That's amazing going on your 5th Rottie! Our only regret was not getting one years ago. Rotties & Pitbulls have been wrongly categorized as aggressive/dangerous breeds. Found out that is so very wrong and it all comes down to the owner & training. Our Rottie is more gentle & loving than the other pets we've ever had in the past (bunnies, a parrot, turtles & Chihuahuas).
Used to be a neat freak, but after having our Rottie, nothing matters. Coco makes us happy to see him have fun, even if means destroying toys, boxes, or making a huge mess.
Rotties are GREAT fur babies and companions. But you have to train them and keep their mind engaged/active. Mine is too smart for her own good sometimes. LOL. And that line about tear up a toy in an instant. 100% true. The one I have now destroys the "indestructible" toys in 5-10 minutes. My last rottie treated her toys like children. She used to carry around her pink bear that played "lullaby" when we went for walks. haha
Thank for sharing, love your comment. They are such big babies. Coco is 9 months now and love to destroy anything we give him. Yes, they are too smart for their own good. We are lucky that someone is with him 24/7. I can’t believe how nice and polite he is.
Rotties are the best but not for everyone. We enjoy the challenge of keeping him engaged. We still haven't found a toy that he cannot destroy, even the ones that claim "for aggressive chewers" he will break it apart. Fortunately, he is trained not to chew on our high-end furniture, that was one of our biggest concern. This is our first Rottie & can't imagine getting any other breed.

Merci
Awe… used to be afraid of pit bulls & Rottie’s until we got coco. Now we understand what it means that it’s the owner. Both breeds have been unfairly judged by the general public. Love pit bulls now, cocos face resembles a pit bull and ears like a lab and walks like a Great Dane. Now we really know what it means to be dog lover. Our Rottie is our Pride and Joy!
A fantastic breed but they DEMAND attention. It’s like having a small child. So if you can’t devote hours a day, get a cat. But if you do get a rottie and you put in the time, it will be the best dog you ever own. Our Zeke was a lean 130 lbs but he thought he was a lap dog.
i’m not sure if the whole “if you cant handle a rottie, get a Malnois” part is a joke or not but either way don’t listen to that! Malnois require MORE training than a rottie because they’re working dogs!
Great catch about the Malinios. It was meant to be humor cause they are also working dogs. Sometimes they can be more demanding & challenging because of their high energy. That's why I included that in the description. We have a couple family members that own a Malinois & our Rottie gets along like best friends.
@@NikkiTorr That’s good to hear, glad you clarified it was a joke in the description. :) Rotties and malinois both are very good dogs but must be taken in with responsibility ! cute video btw 🖤🖤
i think its kinda bad idea of you to recommend a malinois over a rottwiler considering how much a malinois acualy demands, and no offence but where did you get the info that rottwiler has half the bite force of a shark? must be quite small shark considering rottwiler got around 328 PSI bite force while there is dog breeds with up to 743 PSI
It was meant to be funny as stated in the description. I checked on A-Z Animals website and a 11-20ft Great White has a bite force of 625psi and that's no small predator. However, the larger sharks can produce much greater than 4,000psi.
@@bbt9592 Tbh i didnt read the description, and gues i didnt rly bother to read it etiher after the quite shocking amount of ppl i have heard and read that claim malinois is same as a german shepherd but smaller and them having lower demands since they are smaller in size, and i honestly dont understand why they make claims like that.
@@lurtz8083 Oh you are 100% correct. Malinois have the German Shepherd appearance, but in contrast, Malinois' owners require much more patience due their high prey drive. Our relative's Malinois runs around our rottie for hours, it's incredibly fun to watch them play. Strength vs. Speed.
Yes, half the bite power. A Great White Shark has 669 PSI & Rottweiler 328 PSI but the Tiger Shark has bite PSI of 325 less than an average Rottie. BUT, some Great Whites are capable of producing more force of 4,000 PSI it depends on their size.
Very well said and couldn't have come up with better words as you did. Only Rottie owners understand the companionship and honor of having this incredible lovable "big" baby.
"Get a malinoise instead"...do you know what you're talking about? If you think a Rottweiler is a handful for people...why on earth would you recommend the most demanding dog on the planet earth instead? A Rottweiler is a breeze compared to a malinoise.
Thanks for watching entire video! It was meant to be funny cause I always give a family member a hard time about his Malinois. We are always bragging about who has the best dog breed between our Rottie & his Malinois. I Understand that Malinois can be demanding and takes a ton of work. Both Rottie’s & Malinois require extensive training and attention. They are working dogs and not for everybody but both are totally amazing breeds! We were never dog lovers until we got our Rottie and now we love all dogs, especially the “aggressive” breeds like Rottie’s, Malinois, & Pitbulls.
@@NikkiTorr I have both aswell and I agree with you. Both are amazing but I prefer my Rottweiler because as much as a headache she can be she is better than the malinoise. So very sorry to hear about your Rottie. Not sure where he came from because a family member brought Coco from Houston. We convinced her to give him away due to the Rottie's dangerous reputation. After doing utube research, we found out that he can be a kind companion. We fell for Coco's charm, lovable personality, and of course, those puppy eyes. Speaking from a family that had large dog phobias, we couldn't be any happier with having a Rottie. I'm thinking about doing a live stream on how we got Coco cause it's really a long story. Sounds crazy but there are no words to describe how lucky we are to have Coco. Sorry couldn't help but I wish you the best in finding another Rottie.
i had a rottie , doberman and gsd and are all girls and they are bunch of wimps! not aggressive at all. are females dogs different than their male counterparts? cuz I HAD 18 dogs before and I FIND female dogs more docile and submissive.
So glad you got the humor with getting a Malinois instead! Coco is almost 110lbs but not yet a lap dog. Still enjoying his puppy years (0--2.5yrs), but we can't wait till he settles down and watches movies with us.

Coco is great, he only destroys what we give him.
Oui, laisser des jouets et des chiffons aide, mais il trouve toujours des choses à détruire. J'apprends à être plus patient et à passer plus de temps avec notre Rottweiler. Merci
Awww so cute
Thank you so much!
U literally explained my pitbull down a T, maybe hes a rottweiler lmfao
Awe… used to be afraid of pit bulls & Rottie’s until we got coco. Now we understand what it means that it’s the owner. Both breeds have been unfairly judged by the general public. Love pit bulls now, cocos face resembles a pit bull and ears like a lab and walks like a Great Dane. Now we really know what it means to be dog lover. Our Rottie is our Pride and Joy!
🤣😂lol
LoL! Sounds like you have an awesome baby also.
You are absolutely right about the attention and spending hours with him. We are lucky that someone is with Coco 24 hours a day.
i’m not sure if the whole “if you cant handle a rottie, get a Malnois” part is a joke or not but either way don’t listen to that!
Speed.
we have a rotti too now just over 1 jear old, she tore down the whole house but we love her to death......there is no better bread than a rottweiler
😂 Sound like your Rottweiler has a great owner that really loves her.
Get a Rottweiler you will never regret it !!! 😘
Absolutely!
You're 100% correct Jennifer! Like I said, we only regret not getting one years ago. Rotties are truly amazing!
Wait they have half the chomp power of a shark???
Yes, half the bite power. A Great White Shark has 669 PSI & Rottweiler 328 PSI but the Tiger Shark has bite PSI of 325 less than an average Rottie. BUT, some Great Whites are capable of producing more force of 4,000 PSI it depends on their size.
I already have , check my Rottweiler 😛
Ahhh.... Your rottie is adorable! Makes me want to get another baby rottie.
Massa de mais .Tenho 2 rottweiler
Tienes suerte de tener 2 rottweilers. gracias por compartir
I have rottweiler
Will NEVER own any other breed--Im sure God Himself has a Rottweiler!
Very well said and couldn't have come up with better words as you did. Only Rottie owners understand the companionship and honor of having this incredible lovable "big" baby.
no such thing as god, see a dr, they have great medication for delusional ppl. social embarrassment
@@VINvIN344 ur an embarrassment
@@VINvIN344 what you dont believe theres a man who lives above the clouds ?
Not the one U want 2challenge or slander intellectually, trust me. I've probably 4gotten more than U will ever learn
My German shepherd has the best temperament...and good energy levels. Overall I like what you said about Rottweilers. I love them!
I have a female Rottie name Coco, I'm suing you for copyright infringement 😅
Where in Oklahoma did you find a good breeder? I live in Oklahoma myself and want to find a reputable breeder for a good healthy rotty. Our just passed away a bit early due to cancer and we are really looking for another
So very sorry to hear about your Rottie.
Uhhh… HELLZ YEAH!!!
Awesome reply!!
@@NikkiTorr Thank You!
🤩❤️💕
Thank you!
i had a rottie , doberman and gsd and are all girls and they are bunch of wimps! not aggressive at all. are females dogs different than their male counterparts? cuz I HAD 18 dogs before and I FIND female dogs more docile and submissive.
You must have gave them tons of love & attention. Probably spoiled them also & they appreciated every moment they were with you.
Lol, Coco is afraid of his shadow. He’s super lovable.
My rottweiler acts like a cat and likes guns. Then again, every pet I've ever had has had identity issues.
Ahhh. You must have treated him/her extra special. Coco acts like a baby because we treat him like one.
Don't have to train a Malanois???
🤭🤪😝🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good luck convincing a rottweiler he/she is NOT a lap dog!!!!
So glad you got the humor with getting a Malinois instead! Coco is almost 110lbs but not yet a lap dog. Still enjoying his puppy years (0--2.5yrs), but we can't wait till he settles down and watches movies with us.
@@NikkiTorr I inherited my son's "dog", horse...... English mastiff, "Tank"..... It took me years to convince him, he wasn't a lap dog 🤣😂
Best of luck to you both!! ♥️😘
"Moose" and his mom 😘
I'm sorry I had 135 lb baby girl that never destroy anything accept pop bottles
Wow! You got lucky or you are an awesome & experienced owner. We don't really mind that he's destructive because he only breaks what we allow him. We managed to train him to leave our furniture alone but tore up our new sod as long as he is having fun. But we are going broke buying so many toys that does not last long. The quality Kong toy is the only thing he has not destroyed.
There is no better dog.
Il n'y a pas meilleur chien.
You got that right
No I whoud not get one evey one I know had one bite some one bad 8 owners I know thay don't whount peaple around owners to protecting
Thanks for commenting. Rottweilers aren’t for everyone. That’s why we made this video. They need proper training, socialization, & attention. Do not get one if you don’t have the time or patience for owning this powerful breed. They can be dangerous & destructive. We give our rottie plenty of love and training and he is amazingly gentle, loving & polite.
