I was happy to learn I was accidentally doing great. All my polishes except for a handful of regular formulas, are in a decorative box with a lid. I have thermals from other collections and those are in the box, or I keep them in their individual box in my clothes drawer if I plan to use soon (my big box is big, and they're all in their individual boxes still and even in an order, so many I can't tell which exact is which).

I don't have the patience to watch Holo Taco's livestreams when there's a new drop just to find out how formulas work. These Holo Taco ones will be my first thermals. Given the short shelf life, I'll bet they didn't stock as many to try to prevent them from sitting around in the warehouse and spoiling. It's smart although I do know some people are disappointed.
@@mlwgurlyeah, it makes sense. It can be hard to judge how much to stock given Holo Taco’s fandom, the new formula, and the fact it’s thermals. I really wish their PR came earlier so we could get watch these reviews before everything sells out, but alas.

Very welcome! Thermals are the best when it’s a bit colder IMO but I would imagine if your hands tend to be cold they’re still fun to wear during warmer months

Thanks for the review!! For the comments... For thermals, consistent temperatures is key. Most shift around 88*F / 31*C. Room temp 60-75*F is a good temp. Fridges are too cold. The "cold state" is kinda a misnomer, room temp is "cold" and the "warm state" is pretty hot like body temperature over 90*F hot. You want to store them somewhere they won't be constantly shifting and somewhere that isn't too hot or too cold. If you dont have AC then maybe a basement or central room in your house away from light / a spot that doesnt have sun shining on your drawer unit heating it up. If you store them somewhere cold and take them to a hot room to use... give them some time to acclimate so you're not opening them and immediately exposing them to a big temp change. When testing to see if they still work dont test the bottle - paint a swatch to test. They'll probably die in their "storage temp" since they will spend the most time there but could die at any color in their range. But also don't be scared of them because they're so fun it's totally worth and it... and many can last several years - just try to make sure you like all of its shifts so you're still happy with the color after it stops changing.
I got the pink to pink and purple to pink ones. I am loving the sold out mermaid one but I understand KB Shimmer has a similar tri color thermal so maybe I will get that.

I have the same Swamp Gloss! It’s the only thermal in my 2000-ish polish collection that has ever died. All the rest are still fine. Mine isn’t as ugly as yours (no offense). Mine is a dusty dirty minty color. It was so pretty when I first wore it tho! Lol😂
As a thermal lover am I so excited for this to come in the mail. I agree I do wish they were all a more wow finish but I am just glad they aren't all cremes. The colors are all pretty great picks, I was late to purchase this one because I was busy that morning, so glad the collection box was still in stock when I got to my desk because if I missed this I would have been kicking myself. The voice modding over Captain America killed me. ALSO GIRLLL, I was just watching a video of yours from only 3 months ago and your nails have grown soooo fast. I love your nail shaping, I am working to grow mine out to shape them to be almonds but I am so nervous about filing them.

I hear so many people say they store polish in a refrigerator and I'm like 😣 For the more simplistic formulas I like adding a flakie topper! I did that for a few of the cream formulas I got from Fancy Gloss and it was amazing! It makes the polish very versatile as you can use a different topper every time you wear it 🥰 ~Caroline
Thank you for this review! I really loved the collection box and almost all of the colors. They are just so beautiful but I couldn't risk buying thermal polishes. I live in Hawaii and I've had a lot of polishes fade over time and it's just too expensive for a novelty polish for me at this time.
Mine arrived one afternoon after it had rained. I was so glad that It was under 80 degrees when I got home to my polishes. But I should have had them sent to work, now that you mention it.
My two favorites ended up being Deeply Superficial and Funny Feeling. When i wear them again i will add thinner as i found all of them thicker than i would have liked. Over all, the colors are so beaitiful and so reactive love your tips for thermal polish! ❤

But I already got the two thermals from Mooncat earlier in the year only to then learn the life expectancy is iffy and with how much polish I have, looks I want, etc. told myself no more for now. But I wish I should get the box alone. Holo's boxes are all so cute.

🤞my ppu thermal arrives well. I live in FL🥵 Thanks for the tips. This will only be my 3rd thermal. One was a Color Club mystery so it was a surprise that it was thermal. My other had such a subtle change to begin with. I bought it for its beauty not thermal. CC died in maybe a year and the other I think is nearly dead, also in a year.
The packaging is amazing, i wanted the entire collection but i grabbed 3 and im happy because they are my first Holo Taco polishes ill own . I keep my thermal polishes in the refrigerator and they last years at least , yes they do get thicker but they still work . Their should be a dead 💀 thermal society js Mine always die in the warm state . ❤ so far anyway. Not all all brands are equal thats for sure . Tfs
AGREED!! I have DNF’ed a few because they were kinda meh, The Sea Witch had me hooked. Emily McIntire’s next book is a Little Mermaid retelling and I’m really hopeful it will be as good as her other retellings

I knew you would do one but I got antsy waiting and FOMO made me grab a collection box before it sold out. 😂 I actually love Rage Bait and Feeling Funny as they are new colors to my thermal game. I do wished they would have done flakies and holo in them all or glitter or something. I was surprised about them releasing thermals in summer too. I have noticed that they have sent out in emails and on the website lots of info about thermals and their ability to die. I’m glad of that. Gives people a good heads up and they can better decide if they wanna spend the money or not. I had a thermal just like yours with the teal to white but from a different brand and it died too but in more of a clear state. That’s the only one I’ve had die completely so far. I do have one that was a tri thermal but doesn’t transition to the lightest color anymore. 😢
I have the exact opposite reaction with my Rage Bait. I did a skittle with it, Funny Feeling, and KBShimmer's Aft Backwards and even when the latter are in their complete cold state- Rage Bait is stuck in warm. I have to basically be HOLDING an ice cube to get it to change out of its warm state. I had such a hard time with applying the polish i even completely redid the nails. Somehow both too thick and also patchy. I was soooo excited for it as well.
I know you're going through a lot of swatches right now, but I added Everything Taco to the less.. flashy? Thermals and it made a world of difference making that extra BAM to the polish
I'd planned on buying these (or some of them) when it cooled down a little but just about everything is sold out so joke's on me. Except not really because the more collections I miss, the easier it is to say no to anything I'm on the fence on later on.

I wish that they made the polish bottles smaller considering they might die in 6 months. Even half the size would be preferable, considering I find it super difficult to use a WHOLE BOTTLE of nail polish.
I do like this collection but I'm going to stick with the two dupes that I mixed up with my DRK materials. I was able to overload them with flakies and holographic!

After this collection I really really want jelly+flaky polishes from the brand. One of my all time favorite formulas and I can’t ever have enough.

I never did this, but have heard keeping polish in the fridge is good for it. Glad to learn I may have saved some hassle by not doing that.
