  • Winning and losing has virtually nothing to do with the reaction your character gets from the audience. Getting a character over - whether babyface or heel - hinges on other performative elements, and I break some of those down for you.

Have you ever come across a fellow performer that has no idea what gets a babyface character or a heel character over? I know I have, and they often miss two key points.

This is my absolute favorite TH-cam channel. It's the Professional Wrestling equivalent to Alpha M.

Bumping vs crumbling is FANTASTIC psychology. I love that advice. Thank you for that, sir.

Thanks, Steven! I learned that watching Terry Taylor coach a class, and it felt like the biggest lightbulb illuminating over my head!

That is very interesting. I never thought about the whole 'Lots of bumps = lots of sounds'' but it's actually not a bad way to see it and I'll sure study that exact part later on today.

As someone coming into the business I would love some advice for someone who wants to do more anti-hero character

I've definitely done 2 videos on anti-heroes so far...I think they might be Patreon Exclusives, though? If you search TH-cam for Til We Make It and "characters" maybe something will pop?

Great points, as always, but isn't this just a video version of Kayfabe 2.0? It's cool to see Quack, I guess, but I feel like very little if anything about this video could not also be consumed via the podcast I already subscribe to/enjoy. It's not exactly like there's much of a visual component: turns out Quack is pretty good at talking/describing a scene you can picture in your head.

To an extent, it is the next evolution of Kayfabe 2.0. But I'm also going to use TWMI to broaden a bit as well. For example, the video about getting your gear clean is better served on this platform, in my opinion.
