This made me plug mine in and play along. Thank fuck I'm old enough to have seen them be used for Swedish DM the first time round. Sometimes being an old fart pays off. Sounds to me how it should to be honest. I think a lot of people play it in isolation and don't realise that the bass does a lot of work in shaping the sound too. Sounds really gnarly with the MT-2w with the gainstaging set correctly. 🤘🤘
Love the HM2 but my wallet likes my eyemaster better. lol One thing I had no idea about was staking it with the metal zone. I'm gonna try that see how it goes.
How are the old ones 12V? They have a 9V battery compartment. I got a Taiwan one recently and it had a 9V in it. Are the old Japan ones not able to use a 9V?
It's weird, the old ones, both MIJ and MIT had 12v adapters but internally converted it to 9v and people using the old ones either needed an adapter or to find the right power supply for these.
You know.. A lot of the purists in the FB group for this thing actually thought that the reissue should have just been almost just a 1:1, with maybe just the improvements such as increased output and lower noise floor... Because messing with the pedal almost at all, just deviates from it being the ultimate chainsaw... So I'm not sure how they would have geared custom mode to please the chainsaw folk. To them, it's mostly OG HM-2 dimed or go home. It's so polarizing that even reiasuing this thing is like attaining Nirvana and intentionally stepping on a landmine simultaneously. 😂 So I further disagree... Messing with it all except for output and noise basically sticks it to the die hard enthusiasts... Hell.. Maybe even cutting the noise ruins it for some people! 😂
I really love this pedal and the Waza Metal Zone they're amazing, so happy Boss released them. The metal zone is my black metal tone but the Hm2 I use more for doom and death metal tones. Hm2 is really great for doom I found but that makes sense so many of the classic death doom bands used them
My buddy just got a 35th anniversary PRS and wants to change pickups. I told him to watch your videos. He plays stuff like whitechapel, northlane, architects, etc. I told him black winter, nazgul/sentient, or dimarzio d-activator. Any opinions??
I'm a big fan of the black winters and the nazgul/sentient set for sure, although I tend to prefer the nazgul over the bw for extended range stuff, it's just cleaner on the low-end. The Jupiter is also a great shout, especially for low tuned but still really cutting tones, that thing is nuts. The Black Heaven from Lundgren is super aggressive and tighter than a black winter, I personally have really come to love that pickup the past year, and I also really like the BKP Ragnarok, it's really hot, nice wide sound and pairs really well with an overdrive as a boost.

@@MetalHeadProductions that’s awesome. I’ve been wondering if the Dyna Red distortion/Martial Artist will get into the metal territory. Btw nice to see the Mig 50 get some love. How do like it compared to your other amps?
@@thetribalist6923 oh that's awesome. Hit me up through Instagram and we can see about me demoing something from you. @@MetalHeadProductions my bad, I meant that I was a fan of Bearfoot FX. I don’t have any affiliation with them other than their from my home state lol I do own one of their fuzzes, and it’s awesome. Hey cool video! Im a big boss collector so I love any demo/review on boss gear. At 12oclock in C mode it is same as all knobs dialed in original mode. Also to make switching like older pedals you can remove the small square bit of foam in battery compartment location and it will switch like they used too. Great content as always, thanks for the vids mate 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@MetalHeadProductions I'm selling all my clones (I'm 2k deep in these things lol}) after getting the Heavier Metal. It's super useful. I already have an MIJ and MIT and this does everything else. Sounds great through the Stealth.
