I was thinking the same thing NMixx built into their group concept change-ups like that I found jarring in their earlier songs, but they eased up a little lately. Since you liked Baddie so much I think you will also like Dash that NMixx very recently released.
By the time Aespa had debuted, I was used to SM Artists being very experimental in their music or videos. So this was nothing new for me, nor un-expected, when the song has such abrupt change-ups. It's Art and I treated it as such. There's another group that tried this style out for their Debut song and they are also still around. The group is NMIXX and the debut song title is 'O.O' . I am not kidding at all, that's the title of the song: 'O.O' .
this song was something when it released. it had so much hate for the change ups. but then it became one of the biggest songs that year. i loved aespa from their debut.. but their more recent stuff is just so much more superior aka. welcome to my world, spicy and drama.
this song is definitely unique and takes a few listens to get. id love to see y’all’s reaction to savage by them! it’s another super experimental song!
This is literally a mash up of an original song called Next Level by Aussie singer Ashton Wild (with a US producer) which was used in a soundtrack for one of the Fast and Furious movie franchise side films. The original song is quite short, only a bit over two minutes long, so for the Aespa version not only did they change up some of the lyrics to fit their concept but they spliced in additional material which is the stuff you were unsure about. Original song is here: th-cam.com/video/sDWcZA0qgnQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vrP3KcFgAX12ywt4
Well, that explains a lot. Just watched that video you linked. The "la la la" part is in the original. I think aespa did it even better, now that I've heard them both. No shade to the original artist, but I just like it better. Maybe it's the voices.
There's a heap more production on the AESPA version - the original is pretty lo-fi. I think the original was meant to match up with edited action sequences for the movie promo so the song doesn't really go anywhere as it doesn't have a middle-eight or any switch ups. I was familiar with the original so I did a real double-take when I heard AESPA's version, but I like both for different reasons. Took me a while to adapt to the jarring nature of the inserted material but now I love it.@@CoachCastTV
You obviously don't have much experience of hearing various bands under the Prog Rock genre. Possibly my fave genre of all. Some pieces can average 20 to 30 minutes and have many changes throughout with sometimes a main theme of music anchoring the piece together. I love that this track switches. It keeps it interesting.
I loved the reaction today, I love Aespa, the video was incredible. ❤ I hope you can bring more from CLC, I recommend "Devil" and "Me". But before that CLC was a group of 5 and they had a cute concept so I recommend their debut "PEPE"
Aespa's sound has always been a little more futuristic and experimental... it can be a little jarring if you're not ready for it. I've gotten slightly used to it but i would still prefer "Illusion", "spicy", and "drama" (this one is really good). Those ones are much less... surprising hahah
Hii!! CoachcastTV, Thanks for reacting to Aespa. Please, can you react to Drama and Savage, are they also from aespa I will be waiting for your reaction❤️

Gorgeous voices! It occurs to me that the 'next level' theme and the constant switching of both costumes and sounds... with the moving backdrop ... are they progressing through a computer game?
Such talent! Liked it, when released, especially the arm move. Group was on Seulgi's show, they showed her that arm move. Seulgi (Red Velvet) got it the first time trying. More Aespa, like Welcome to My World!😂 Any Red Velvet? See Irene & Seulgi's Naughty, Part 1, RV subunit! (Talk about arm and hand movements)🔥🔥🔥
Aespa like to be experimental. They are different. Back in the time where they made the SM Cultrual universe, Black Mamba, Next Level, Savage, and Girls were wild. But for me, there newest, Drama, is on a next level... It's a bit less experimental but it's really good. You will like it, both video and music. I have loved Aespa from first time i heard them. :)
They are amazing, one of the best from 4th generation… some of their songs bring this changes in the middle of them but not all of them and they all four serve vocal but ningning and winter are in another level … go on watching their songs in order but when you get to “spicy” and “better things” the vocal are amazing
This song is interesting because is its a remake from "Fast and Furious - Hobbs and Shaw" I always considered "Girls" the final (4th) MV in that series
Hey Coach! Glad you are doing more aespa! This song is great and I get how some get confused with the change up but I’m with Mrs Coach on this. I absolutely love the change ups and it works for me because they get to highlight Ningning and Winter’s amazing vocals! And if you think about it, Blackpink actually have change ups in their songs as well only not as drastic. Keep going! aespa has some great songs! Enjoy and keep up with the great videos ☺️
Thanks so much. It has actually grown on me even more with the additional listens to edit and I have to say it is easily one of my favorite K-pop songs so far.
I love aespa.. every song.. every song... and another SM Ent's girl group.. please also reacts to Girls' Generation... from Sm Entertainment.. 2nd Generation girl group.. Thanks a lot!❤
Coach has entered one of the subgenres of the kpop world: Mix/Experimental. Common in kpop where they'll switch up completely 👍 Definitely can be jarring in the beginning or if you're used to western pop structure that deviates very little throughout. But once you get it you get it lol. SM is probably most known for it, but a newer group that has fully embraced Mixpop as their whole concept is without a doubt, Nmixx (The mixx part gives it away). They take it to the maxx (just on title tracks mostly so don't worry if it's not your thing) 😂
that confused look on coach's face was priceless and entertaining 😂Next Level is a "(korean) remake" of a song of the same name by A$ton Wyld, which featured on the soundtrack of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and yeah... the constant switch ups are not for everyone. For me, Next Level was the reason I started to loose interest in aespa (after initially liking Black Mamba). It took me until "Girls" (the epic finale to their first chapter) to come back but that one is just great and made me a fan. Since then I loved all their new releases. But Next Level and Savage... most of the stuff between Black Mamba and Girls is not for me. I'm also not a fan of their virtual avatar concept, since it only distracts from the girls themselves. The animation quality is just not good enough and the four girls are amazing on their own. They don't need a virtual counterpart to shine. Thankfully they moved away from that concept a bit with their newer releases.
Have to say this one has definitely grown on me since the first listen, and it's all because of that hard bass portion. I still think it could have been even better without that change-ups, but it's a good one. We'll be interested to see what Savage is like.
So Coach's reaction basically mirrors the way the song was received by the public in Korea. At first it was not well-liked. No music show wins, barely charting. But then people warmed up to it and it became a viral hit. To the point it was banned from airplay during exam season so the students could concentrate on their preparation! And yeah, now I really wanna see Coach and mrs. Coach's reaction to Girl's Generation I Got A Boy. Calling it the Korean Bohemian Rhapsody is not an exagerration. Also, the Kwangya storyline is not a trilogy but a tetralogy. It ends with Girls. So it goes Black Mamba, Next Level, Savage, and Girls.
I personally loved this song first listen just because I love unique change-ups and vocals. They're soo talented and they make any sound work! I was worried about how you would feel about NMIXX after this (they're my ult group) because their very first song released is 3 songs in 1. BUT I also have faith ya'll will like NMIXX because I've noticed both of you appreciate vocals no matter what and NMIXX have been dubbed the vocal standard of future generations, there is NO weak link.
We recorded NMIXX "Love Me Like This" today. Won't spoil it for you but we did hear they have some songs that are big change-ups. You can rest assured we always appreciate the talent and hard work.
From the beginning I thought that the company got way too ambitious with aespa. This song felt way too busy for me. Kpop is known for it's switch-ups, but this one, well... With new groups, you need to focus on the talent and the personalities and not distract from those by trying to do too much. The girls pulled it off, but, I'm with Coach on this one.
What's interesting is that after listening to it a few more times, I think it's still one of my favorites so far. Having said that, I do think it could have been even better without the change-ups. But I can see this one being played a lot on my playlist. That deep bass part is simply too good.
@@djwave1791 We'll definitely do more. We're getting so many requests from so many different artists it's hard to keep up. We do plan to do more though.
Lol yall are too funny. I remember getting into SM artists and them having quite diff music quality than other companies. SM idols are known for the mashup of odd or different sounds type of music or some like to call “NOISE” music. AESPA, imo, does it the best tho and are my fav SM artists along with RV. And yeah, this song really is a BOP and from here it really does get better. I remember this song dropping and every1 saying the same thing as to how many beat switch-ups there were sounding like 10 songs lol. That is just what SM is known for tho like how YG is known for his signature EDM based music. 2:07 Karina: Leader, Main Dancer, Lead Rapper, Vocalist, Visual, Face Of The Group, Center, Korean, 23yo 2:10 Giselle: Main Rapper, Sub Vocalist, Korean-Japanese, 23yo 2:19 Winter: Lead Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper, Visual, Korean, 23yo 2:29 NingNing: Main Vocalist, Maknae, Chinese, 21yo
Thanks for the info. Yeah, this was hard to fully grasp for Coach on first listen, but after a few more times, it's absolutely on the favorites list of all K-pop so far.
IDK if you can post Studio Choom dance performance reactions, but even on your own time I would highly recommend this song and In the Morning from that channel. They are visually enhancified. 😂😂😂
I know that feeling with all the change-ups that appeared in this song and after hearing it a few more times and watching the dance performances i got quite used to it and like it alot now. A little fact to learn about NingNing is that she is basically blind in her right eye. I think she said it was from a condition that she had as a child and they were just too late in treating it. I know that she had plenty of time to get used to it but it's still very impressive that she can perfom on stage as well as she does (making little to no errors).
After this song, JYP debuted a girl group called NMIXX. NMIXX mainly uses a Mixpop genre that feels like a mixture of two songs, but I think the concept of NMIXX is due to the popularity of 'Next level'. (Personally, I think their songs didn't stand out until recently, but finally showed a significant improvement in this album, which includes 'DASH')
Nmixx copied SMP (SM which is genre that was created by Yoo Youngjin (ex SM main producer).an acronym for ‘SM Production,’ a style of music created by SM Entertainment with the debut of H.O.T. The songs are characterized by heavy beats and, up until 2008, featured lyrics that contained social commentaries about current events. SMP songs are more generally chosen as title tracks and are often accompanied by drastic and influential concept changes. All SMP songs are composed by Yoo Young Jin. “Some of the most famous SMP songs include We Are The Future, T.O.P (Twinkling of Paradise), Iyah!, Girls on Top, O-Jung.Ban.Hap, Rising Sun, Don’t Don, Ring Ding Dong, and Lucifer. This genre was even before JYP created his company, so SM is blueprint as always
@@alien_fairy1973 As you know, the core theme of Nextlevel is to buy another original song and remake it. In fact, I think that's why SM's producers did a mix-changeup, like they were putting together a bunch of songs. It's a completely different intention than Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. but, I have no intention of criticizing nextlevel. they succeeded in commercializing a song that was never known to the world. and I guess Yoo Young-jin is a creator who just wants to reveal the original song honestly rather than copying it. He seems like a creator who accepts Lee Soo-man's request and doesn't want to ruin his pride at the same time. Anyway, What I'm trying to say is that JYP just got the idea from nextlevel, but I don't think that NMIXX's music style is a replica of SM's production. (Of course, I know that some of the songs made by JYP have been controversial over similar issues.)
Group Lore is a neat idea for people that really want to dig into it, but trying to read into all the mysterious symbolism for a group like Loona just convinced me to enjoy the music and not worry too much about it. I love Billlie’s Ring Ma Bell so much, but I have zero idea what is happening in the official MV and like to watch the performance video instead. I’m kind of glad SM backed off the KWANGYA multiverse. I didn’t hate it, but the Naevis felt like a distracting gimmick for me even though I do like the cyberpunk aesthetic. I’d much rather see the members performing themselves and was kind of concerned it would lead to an all CGI group like Maeve

this song was something when it released. it had so much hate for the change ups. but then it became one of the biggest songs that year. i loved aespa from their debut.. but their more recent stuff is just so much more superior aka. welcome to my world, spicy and drama.
This one grows on you...fast. It's absolutely one of Coach's favorites now.
@@CoachCastTV yes this song definitely grows on you. and fast.
its ae aespa multiverse, they jumping to other universe, music changes with it
Quite interesting!
this song is definitely unique and takes a few listens to get. id love to see y’all’s reaction to savage by them! it’s another super experimental song!
If Next Level is blowing your minds, I can't wait for you guys to listen to Savage!
I'd had the same reaction as Mr. Coach when this was first released but the more i listened the more the i liked it.
i agree with mr coach 😍😍🤣
Aespa is literally next level
Love this reaction. Coach's bemused face 😂.. great understanding reaction though...
😊 thank you!
I loved the reaction today, I love Aespa, the video was incredible. ❤
I hope you can bring more from CLC, I recommend "Devil" and "Me".
But before that CLC was a group of 5 and they had a cute concept so I recommend their debut "PEPE"
We actually filmed another CLC today, "Hobgoblin". We'll keep doing more, though, don't worry. We really like them. Thanks for watching!
@@CoachCastTV Thank you 🫂🩷
Aespa's sound has always been a little more futuristic and experimental... it can be a little jarring if you're not ready for it. I've gotten slightly used to it but i would still prefer "Illusion", "spicy", and "drama" (this one is really good). Those ones are much less... surprising hahah
This is original SM sound. It's confusing for the time. But the more you hear it, you gonna like it.
I love you guys! cheers from Argentina! ♥ ♥ ♥
Keep this awesome content!
Thanks so much. We appreciate you watching!
Hii!! CoachcastTV, Thanks for reacting to Aespa. Please, can you react to Drama and Savage, are they also from aespa I will be waiting for your reaction❤️
We'll definitely be doing those at some point. Thanks for watching!
@@CoachCastTVThanks to you for giving us reactions when you can❤️. and also at some point if you don't mind, can you react to Lalisa and money de Lisa in the live presentation of the gala des pièces jaune, please?
@@Tiffany-Rubyjane We'll certainly keep those in mind. We will probably do another round of solo stuff for BLACKPINK after the current album we're doing.
Start from black mamba now and watch their episodes they have like a small serie and sooo much lore
Please also react to æspa „Spicy“! I think Coach will like it a lot more 😁
Gorgeous voices! It occurs to me that the 'next level' theme and the constant switching of both costumes and sounds... with the moving backdrop ... are they progressing through a computer game?
Yeah, they have an alternate universe theme for their first few videos.
We have another Red Velvet coming soon.
You’ll get used to the switch ups with more SM groups! Girls Generation has them. Also this is a cover so they added new sections to make it different
Aespa girls
Next Level is a slow build but ull love it.
they tend to mix songs. SM songs tend to do it.
Next level take me like 5 listens for understand haha i love this song now❤ my favorite its Girls and Savage
They are amazing, one of the best from 4th generation… some of their songs bring this changes in the middle of them but not all of them and they all four serve vocal but ningning and winter are in another level … go on watching their songs in order but when you get to “spicy” and “better things” the vocal are amazing
Good point. Thanks for watching!
This song is interesting because is its a remake from "Fast and Furious - Hobbs and Shaw"
I always considered "Girls" the final (4th) MV in that series
81st like 👍 I really like this song from them
Laughing hard watching this. That was my reaction too. After a few more listens I liked it a lot more.
Same here! It's a grower!
aespa is incredible, I suggest the song Girls, my favorite from them.
Aespa Armageddon
I love aespa.. every song.. every song... and another SM Ent's girl group.. please also reacts to Girls' Generation... from Sm Entertainment.. 2nd Generation girl group.. Thanks a lot!❤
We've done one from GG and will do more when we can. We liked them.
Coach has entered one of the subgenres of the kpop world: Mix/Experimental. Common in kpop where they'll switch up completely 👍
Definitely can be jarring in the beginning or if you're used to western pop structure that deviates very little throughout.
Imagine him watching the Award Winding “ iGot a boy” with Girls Generation, he Will be cranky Coach.
that confused look on coach's face was priceless and entertaining 😂Next Level is a "(korean) remake" of a song of the same name by A$ton Wyld, which featured on the soundtrack of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and yeah... the constant switch ups are not for everyone.
I love this reaction. Thank you for the sm reactions.
Maybe you can reacted to Vcha. They debut for the USA market yesterday. They are under Jyp.
Thanks. We also have a Red Velvet recorded and coming next week.
Ah. Good to know there are 4 of the songs in it. Thanks for that info. This song definitely grows on you.
Please watch their Drama MV next
From the beginning I thought that the company got way too ambitious with aespa. This song felt way too busy for me. Kpop is known for it's switch-ups, but this one, well... With new groups, you need to focus on the talent and the personalities and not distract from those by trying to do too much. The girls pulled it off, but, I'm with Coach on this one.
What's interesting is that after listening to it a few more times, I think it's still one of my favorites so far. Having said that, I do think it could have been even better without the change-ups. But I can see this one being played a lot on my playlist. That deep bass part is simply too good.
@@CoachCastTV should I give up on J Cole ?
@@djwave1791 We'll definitely do more. We're getting so many requests from so many different artists it's hard to keep up. We do plan to do more though.
Imagine coach see the Award Winding MV “ i Got a boy” by Girls Generation ( the legends). He Will forever be Callesen Cranky Coach 😂
😆 🤣
@@CoachCastTV i dare you, try Watch it someday, it Will blow your mind.
3:32 I feel like im the only one but i laughed about this for a good 5 minutes
LOL...not everyone gets Coach.

Appreciate that info. 😆 🤣
@@CoachCastTVI would love to know what you thought. These two plus Advice by Taemin on that channel are some of my favorite things on all of TH-cam.
Wow, if true, it is stunning that she can get that choreography perfect.
Try react to the original “Next Level” by Aston Wyld since you already react to this one.
Reaction twice please

We have filmed an NMIXX today, coming once we can get it edited and posted.
@@CoachCastTV great but we might already spoil u 😢😂. Since we said nmixx is known for their change up so your already gonna expect that
@@JohnT2088 No worries, if it's a significant changeup we'll probably still find it unusual.

Coach isn’t wrong. While the middle sections might make for fine songs of their own, the change ups are overdone and lack cohesion. I’ve always liked the song but they should have leaned more heavily into that opening structure. As it stands, ‘Next Level’ lacks a clear identity.
Sorry ....to me just another record company creation or idol group, just not my type of music......
