it mostly pisses me off the traction this sport gets over table tennis from big media even though it is no skill and less exciting i don’t hate anyone for playing on it though i get it it’s easier and easier to learn for your average joe
I can't stand Pickleball tbh. When this was starting to blow up I was all about the racket sport harmony. I get what it's like to enjoy a niche sport and how annoying it can be when people put it down. Pickleball was literally invented to be easy, and I think we need to make room for sports like that too. But then every time I talk to someone who plays pickleball that knows I play table tennis they always talk down to me like their sport is more legitimate or some shit. I've just become a complete and absolute hater now.
Well, a sport is a physical activity often competitive and organised. In the definition of sport says this as well "They also provide enjoyment to participants and, in some cases, entertainment to spectators." Emphasys in the "some cases" bit, because not every sport is entertaining for most people, the same way I don't enjoy watching Darts, or the fact that I think that Curling is a ridiculous sport as well.
agreed. tennis is too physical and too selective for them, and table tennis is too difficult and technical for them. It's dumb but it's fun for those people.
😂😂😂 finally someone calls this “sport” and Joola out. I’ve been trying for 3 years to put 1 table in my community center but they have “no room” but now have 3 pickleball courts lol. It’s just an aggressively marketed easy to play gimmick game.
Hey, mate. Try asking a local church that has any kind of space that can potentially be used if you can play TT there on certain days of the week. Churches tend to be populated with folks that care and that want to help in any way they can. And there are lots and lots of churches everywhere. The way you have to go about it is: Go to each church you ask and ask to talk to whoever the top person running things is. Don't call. Don't email. And don't waste your time talking to anyone about it, except for the guy calling the shots. I guarantee that you'll have somewhere to play TT within a week or two, if you do it like that.
@@VladTableTennis negative content does better than positive content, I get it. But this is the same as someone commenting on an epic TT rally saying “they are basically playing tennis at thing point, why don’t they just play tennis” I don’t understand how people can be so vehement and judging on things they know so little about.
Poeple should do what they enjoy. If it is called a sport so what. Ittf and wtt could learn from the Pickle Ball Media coverage as far as I understad. Be an ambassador for Table tennis. If you do such videos I would like to see you comming more from a funny not so serious angle . Other than that keep up doing you good work!
I don't get the hate really. I feel most who criticise have never played the game. One thing I will say is that the game is played by many older people because it's slow enough to make it fun for them. I feel that's a good thing as fitter older generation is welcome. Maybe younger guys should think about this before being so judgemental. Fine it's OK to not like it but at least try it first. There are tactics like any sport but they are just different. Play the game then decide please.
Nah, if older people play. Im all cool woth that. Thats what i see in gyms and stuff, where older people enjoy themselves. Thats all good. Did you see any old people in the video tho? NO. So im judging younger people lol
@@VladTableTennis Yeah no problem really. I just see a lot of negativity on social media about pickleball. The part about TV coverage is bang on though. Table Tennis should be promoted far better. The game has such a simple concept. Age and ability don't matter and at the top level it should be promoted. I think it suffers because its so dominated by one country. Other countries need to step up. If pros want to get more money and sponsorship into the sport, they have to beat the Chinese more regularly. How you achieve this miracle I have no idea.
every time I watch this shit I'm scratching my head like is there something I'm not getting or is this a joke or somethig, i live in egypt and it's getting more popular here, I just see it as something you do with friends that takes no skill, the "professionals" are what truly makes me question my reality like WTF am I watching?

its missing the spin of table tennis and the footwork of tennis. Just seems like a easier hybrid.
Which is why it’s a retirement sport. This I don’t understand “pro” players in this💀
And the spin of tennis.
LMFAO priceless to see your reactions to this!!

You know what's worse about JOOLA? They make THE BEST OF THE BEST pickleball paddles.
I wouldn’t know lmao

Vlad The Mad, Mean, and Cranky.
Very rare for me to be like this tbh
Perfect summary of American mindset in 2020's X)
😂😂
Scientific fact: Those who sponsor and televise pickleball have the same amount of air in their brains as the pickleball ball.
LMFAO
the thing i hate most about this sport is that the people who play this "professionally" act like professional athletes
main thing why i dont like it. as a casual thing, let them enjoy it
It's a game not a sport.

I'm all for letting people enjoy what they enjoy but something about this game makes me a hater
SAME LMFAO
