In actual work is done in different sections .so any technician of incharge have deep knowledge of particular section ( parts, components)
Those appears to be fuel injectors as I can tell, hence diesel engine doesn't have spark plugs
Those are unitized high pressure pumps mounted with each cylinder. They are used to amplify the pressure of diesel before injecting into cylinder.
