  • This video compares a one-way ANOVA to the Kruskal-Wallis test using SPSS. The assumptions for the one-way ANOVA and the Kruskal-Wallis test are reviewed.

Dr. Grande, I am beyond grateful for your stats vidoes. And for all your vidoes, actually. Thank you sincerely.

This was a good video but since I had never learned about the Kruskal-Wallis test before I am glad we have multiple videos discussing it.

Hi Dr. Grande, can I still run a Kruskal Wallis test if my data has unequal variances? Also, what post-hoc test will be suitable to know where the significant differences lie?

Todd your videos are awesome... it's easy to tell you are a pro in biostats... I am going to be a biostats teaching assistant next year so I will definitely use your videos with the students... I only have a question regarding the posthoc analyss when you actually find a difference or a significant finding using kruskal wallis H test... how would you interpret the boxplots to say that they are actually different

ANOVA is starting to make more sense to me and I understand how the Kruskal Wallis is still a way to look at the data when they do not meet the parameters for and ANOVA.

The one-way ANOVA seems like it would be easier to use. However, this is a good video to come back to if I need to use the Kruskal Wallis.

I have three types of independent groups and multiple dependent variables and want to control for age and sex as a covariates. ANCOVA is failed the assumptions. Kruskalwalis test has no option of assigning covariates. what should l I do in this case

I think I would feel more comfortable using ANOVA as I am more familiar with it through your videos, it also seems to be more comprehensive than the Kruskal-Wallis test.

Dr. Grande! Hello:) You mentioned that Anova is robust to assumptions violations. Do you have a citation we can use when the normality assumption is violated to still go ahead and use ANOVA?

    Hi Dr.Grande
I tried to use KW test but did not work because my data is time. The pop window says that "date and time can not be placed in the list" .Is there anyway to compare groups if data is time
    Thank you
    Hani

I am beginning to put all the tests and reading results of Anova much better so I would try to stick with a parametric test. In the case where it does violate the assumption and we cannot use a parametric test I could refer to this video.
