- A full day reviewing restaurants at London Heathrow Airport. We're not too far away from the Spring and Summer season where we all go on our travels and I feel that it's necessary to know the good places to eat outside of fast food at your local airport. Today, I'll be doing a full food review of London Heathrow Airport (pre-security) and letting you know where the best places are to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

favourite channel on youtube at the moment, love the content. please never lose your down to earth and honest nature. the videos have just the right amount of production to them, really feels like the sort of thing youtube was made for. you'll get 100k really soon im sure!
Wow, thank you definitely will never change ☺️
I might suggest waiting until on the plane and a meal already paid for on your ticket. It's always a tip-top review. Thanks for taking us along. Appreciated. 😊
Consitency of the channel is class tbf
Gary is one of these guys who you just can't hate no matter how hard you try (not that I ever have!!)
Genuine and never loses himself in the moment
Sir we salute you and your food quest
Love from Ireland
Haha thanks Geri. I’m sure quite a few would disagree with you 😄
@@GaryEatsProper English gent you seem like
Well done Gary, so creative of you to spend a day eating at Heathrow.
Thank you Patrick!
Give yourself a pat on the back!
You are by far the best on location food reviewer on TH-cam! The creativity to keep engagement (not that you need to) is on point! 💪
Appreciate that so much. Thank you!
So true!
So happy to see your channel taking off Gary. Every time I watch your videos I feel like I’m catching up with a friend.
That is very kind 😊
Man after my own heart Gary. You can never have too much freshly ground black pepper
Oh yes!
I make pepper steak pies they are delicious and very popular with my friends and family 😃😉
Good concept! And I want to congratulate you on a fine, enthusiastic enjoyment of the Persian restaurant. It was a treat to watch! I prefer simple, straightforward photography for simple, straightforward food, myself. Love to see the growth of your subs!
Thanks Kevyn. Really kind of you, loved it!
International Airport the NEC Birmingham International Planes fire from now when you go to the original airport is what I have the National Lottery I got any transnet terminal 1 restaurant 2 restaurant 3 or restaurant for in the original terminals near to the NEC Birmingham
I was on the bog for a week after eating there 😊😂
FUN FACT: I flew Heathrow to JFK at the height of the COVID panic. The British Airways entire terminal was virtually empty. A few passengers and a few gate agents. A rare moment in time. Excellent video!
That must have been extraordinary to witness Brian...
I was in Singapore airport when covid was still very much affecting travel. It was interesting to be in a large terminal with very few people, and most shops were closed.
Unfortunately at that time I spent nearly 3 weeks sleeping in Terminal 5 after returning from Thailand completely broke. It was no fun at all!
Always so up beat.
What a nice fella 👍😀
Thanks 👍
You could say this channel is really... taking off 😎
Very good 👍
🤣
l never expected airport places to eat would be so nice,. decor is clean and modern. Thanks
for showing us this. Love your humour and enthusiasm. lt was a treat to see a full food day.
Very kind Caroline thank you
Airports are like the best hotels, if you're on expenses try them, if you're paying avoid, I've tried most of the largest airports around the world and the food is generally ok but expensive.
Nailed it David!
How can you compare the best hotels with airports? You can avoid the best hotels. You can´t avoid the airports, and that is the reason why the restaurants are overpriced in airports. People are stuck there hours before flight, and often need a meal.
For an airport catering for 1000's it looked ok...I love hash browns it is the only time I eat them at breafast..and sour dough bread toasted is yummy..(no beans or toms tho)..? Ty for sharing Gary...enjoyed all of the Airport food review for a change🎉
More than welcome :)
Hash Browns? 🤢(We need to have a projectile vomiting smiley on TH-cam).
Yes definitely! I would love to see this series grow, looking forward to it 🙂
Awesome! Thank you!
Gary, reviewing airport restaurants is such a novel idea to come up with! I really enjoyed the look at Heathrow and can’t wait to see your reviews of other airport eateries.
Hop on a plane and visit a few here in the US too!
Thank you
I think the airport restaurant review idea is a really good one. Most of us use airports from time-to-time, so to have you reviewing the food options is really helpful.
I only use Terminal 5 when fly to and from Dublin, so it was interesting to get a short glimpse of the other Terminals.
The dinner meal of pasta definitely looked the best out of the 3. That lunch burger and chips did look small 🤣Did you find any vinegar? I thought the idea of no vinegar on the table when they are serving chips to be quite odd.
Secret sauce of the cheeseburger how much was the cheeseburger with the secret sauce actually really good burger quality burger from Heathrow Airport quality burger London
Gary firstly thank you for commenting and watching as always and again really appreciated mate 👍😊
I go to Subway or Tim Hortons if the airport has them. I ate at a pub in Toronto airport and it was awful.
We watched your new airport episode…great job as always. But I knew the moment I saw that pasta that it would go downhill. Airport food is for emergency use only 😂😂
Totally agree 😳
That was a great presentation Gary. Don’t think many reviewers would undertake a similar approach and your reviews were very fair. A novel approach, quality of each establishment was certainly above average and like you said, price-wise, reflected by you being at Heathrow Airport. Good job you had walking distance between Terminals. Many thanks for sharing with us. Enjoyed something different and interesting. Catch you soon 👍👍👍
Just trying something different back to normal Friday, I really appreciate you’re support as always thank you 😊
I love watching these videos, Gary’s style just makes you want to like him, so likeable bloke trying lots of different food, a winning formula!
Thank you for your lovely comment
Another good one! Love the jumper, you look very classy!!! Thanks for taking a grandma around England!!!
😊 thank you
Gotta admit I thought that this would be an episode that I wouldn’t like but I was wrong. It was great.
Very fair review as ever Gary. Well done.
Thank you Geoffrey, just trying different ideas 💡
The idea of yours is really good and as a viewer and subscriber I will watch it - even though I am in Ireland I regularly visit the UK so any food vlogs are of interest to me.
Thank you very much :) in Ireland soon!
Gary keeps delivering, keep up the great content
Much appreciated
Salting the chips with the burger made me laugh, I spill more salt than that when seasoning 😂 great video 👍🏻
Lol I did season more 🤣
Great idea for a new series, really enjoyed that Gary! have to say that burger looked lovely, but as you say should have been double the size
Yep. Needed more of it Paul!
Love it gary great content as usual my friend moving up fast now !! Keep going strong mate
Thanks David!! 👍
Yes please Gary - more and more airport content!
I may will start doing them at the end of the year Jonny
Love this review gary as always great to watch wasn't too sure bout the food as always let's give it a go 😂
Glad you enjoyed the review Julie. Yes, the food not the best
Fascinating idea. Would love to see your ideas whiteboard!
A trip to Cornwall sounds like a top idea. We need some seafood on the channel🦞
Thanks for the vid!
Great idea! Down in Cornwall soon.
Wait till Summer for Cornwall!
@@jamesalexander5623 Nah, there's no point. You're as likely to get a sunny day in March as August!
Well presented as usual Gary . I find airports a bit characterless the same as the menus . Looking forward to your next one 👍
Thanks Jim 👍
Love your vids mate. Airports = captive audience.
Thank you 😄
Great concept! Shame the food wasn`t up to scratch. That pasta 😱😱 Mamma Mia!
Thanks Heather. Yes, not the best 👍🏼
I've always skipped the food at airports due to how expensive it is. Thanks for doing a review of what you can get there.
It is very expensive
Fantastic review Gary!
Thank you kindly!
Loving your channel such a nice guy and very honest straight to the point
Thank you!
Gary, if England had a food eating team you'd be the captain. The breakfast sausages were at best "industrial" but the rest looked quite nice, the burger and chips so-so, and the pasta looked nice. Yet again it was an interesting review, and as I'm never likely to darken their doors I enjoyed the insight into the eateries, but you never know.
Thank you Colin 👍
Good idea Gary. It's often bemusing trying to find a decent place to eat while waiting for a flight.
Thank you David
I like the concept, looking forward to more of these.
Thank you!
Absolutely spoilt here with 4 “as always…..let’s give it a go”s.
Lovely stuff!
Thank you very much
Gary, another great review. Nice breakfast, nice price, very expensive burger, very small, nice plate of pasta for a ping and ding meal 😊
Thank you Paul, all very average 👍
Can't beat a good fry up, but do like the look of the pasta dish, only thing missing is garlic bread.
I fully agree
A great idea for a video Gary keep up the fantastic videos
Thanks Jack! 👍
Hi gary and son injoy your videos as always gteat reveiw breakfast looked ok ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
Thank you, Janis 🌹
Hi Gary, would be great to see you in Wrexham. Especially with the town taking off with the Ryan Reynolds connection. Marrubi's cafe and Pepe's chicken to name a few quirky places for you to try.
That would be cool. I can do that 👍🏼
@@GaryEats you actually have alot of fans in Wrexham bud, myself included so it would be great to see you up here 👍
This review at Heathrow airport is fantastic Gary. Brilliant work. I think your review was very kind and fair.
My husband thought that bacon was not good, chewy and fatty. What is that white stuff on it, fat? Burger and chips looked like kids size meal. I cant BELIEVE it, finally vegetarian meal 🎉 sadly microwaved. Airport ripped off!
At Shannon Airport the cafe on ground floor makes fresh pizza...omg, very tasty, not overpriced!
At Gatwick airport, you be suprised, Wagamama is the best, they do cook it on site with open kitchen. Gordon Ramsay at Gatwick is ok, not the best.
I agree with others, airports have captivated audience, therefore they get away with pricing. More people take their own food.
I hope Branson got the hint... looking forward to your inflight meal reviews. 😊😊
Excellent comment and Shannon airport is on the list when we go to Ireland 🇮🇪
@@GaryEats brilliant! Called JJ Ruddles, ground floor, freshly made pizza.
Great video concept. Keep up the good work Gary 👍
Thanks Adam. Something a bit different, all feedback welcome!
Gary, I'm trawling (?) through your older videos. I've just finished your Heathrow experience and thought I would say that the dark yoke of the eggs, means the chickens are grain fed.
Absolutely liking your videos.
Thanks for the advice and for watching and commenting Terry
Made a change going to an airport, thought they were expensive though. Good video as usual
Thanks! 😃
I'm currently really ill and not able for much and I can't stand the TV - I have just found your video's what a joy! Absolutely love them you are too lovely, so kind, decent and polite. I hope you get to 100K soon looking forward to seeing more video's - thank you Gary - best wishes from Ireland🍀💚
I'm really sorry to hear that Aisling. Please rest up and feel better soon!
@@GaryEats thank you! I'm feeling much better and delighted to see you have already jumped up another 1k!
Microwaved meal again! I think Gordon Ramsay may have shares in this place 😂.
Probably 🤣
Most restaurants use microwaves for some items. Soups are often microwaved up to serving temperatures.
In a restaurant at an airport they need to get food out fast, some passengers don’t have much time to eat ,so I’m sure any dishes that can be cooked in advance are, then cooled down to keep them safe ,and quickly heated in the microwave for service. The same goes for chips which are blanched, then cooled, and held for service, when an order comes in a potion is dropped in hot fat, there isn’t time to cook the chips from scratch,or the diner is going to be asking when they are getting their meal.Working a restaurant kitchen isn’t a simple job,to get all the food out on time, cooked properly is a skill.
This is both interesting and useul to watch. Most travel vloggers just review the private lounges after security and not the actual restaurants at an airport. As you said, you can expect to pay more at an airport restaurant and although the food was not out of this world, it did look very appetising. Plus there was no service charge.
Very good assessment!
Look forward to seeing you in Cornwall gary
Thank you!!
I'd be less disappointed with a three hour delay than finding out i had to pay £19.00 for a small burger. refreshing idea doing 3 places to eat in an airport in 1 day, great work as always.
Thank you Tom it was a long day
A interesting place to do a food review 👍 love the videos
Thank you!
Great review as always love the slight touches of humour, the white jumper tennis anybody. Please do Rick steins, and do him good
Thanks Bruce and will do 👍🏼
Looking forward to Eire. Toilichte ithe !
👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Gary..I don't understand the aversion to hash browns .. personally I like them..and after all it's just a way of getting a potato product to complete the meal..nice unusual vlog ..👍🎉
Thank you Jan, I don’t mind hash browns either 👍
As a cost of living hack, We usually buy in boxes of sushi from Itsu or Wasbi and an empty refillable bottle holder! Take it over to the Air Side (as it is allowed). i usually drink coffee, buy it from a coffee shop, sit down, and eat our take-out whilst the mrs. brings her own tea bags and use their hot water!/milk! Also, we sit by a PowerPoint to recharge our electronic devices! We also brought in our own sandwiches in the past!
Very nice 👍🏼 I’m also a packed lunch kind of guy!
Excellent timing Gary. At Heathrow mid-March and feel informed now by your reviews.
Have a safe journey Steve
I enjoyed that, Thanks, Gary!
You're more than welcome mate!
Great idea for a series. Plus if you to/from some of the scottish ones you can try the airside/post security restaurants too. Eg Gordon Ramsay plane food at t5.
Will do that soon
Gary. Glad your channel is taking off. All the food looked a bit Plane! You should of ordered some soup & called the waiter over & said there is a fly in my soup!
Why did Gary get a round of applause at the airport? He really winged it with this clip! LOL
Lol, I liked the first two.
I think you would make a brilliant travel guide as well, I mean, not for places you know already know, more like exploring places together with the viewer.
I would enjoy doing that
I’ll make a prediction. You will find no good food experiences in UK airports.
It's definitely inconsistent for sure David, cheers mate
The Fortnum and Mason's bar and Prunier both in terminal 5 are good. But rather expensive
Curious if you try any of the lounges for example!
That applies to most airports.
Piss take by all these food outlets..the prices are simply outrageous and I refuse to be ripped off..it's as if they think of a figure and add a third.
Very fair markings Gary. I did say out loud look at the size of that. Great video too.
Thank you Alec, the burger was really a slider 😊
You know something Gary? you're an absolute legend mate!
Wow, thanks 😊
Your presentation style continues to be first class. Your analysis continues to be excellent. The pace of this vlog was wonderful. Thank you for a great review.
Very kind John thank you
The price of that burger ridiculous. I left the UK 17 years ago and moved to South Africa. We have problems here but what we don't have are burgers and chips for that price.
Very very expensive
Me again! Loving my binge watch of Gary’s reviews. I’m definitely feeling better. Thanks!
That’s fantastic to hear Stephen 👍
as always top reviews and honest , keep them coming , ........ good idea to do EVERY airport in England
Glad you like them!
Definitely agree with you on the sausage front
👍🏼 not the best
In the US, we like our bacon crispy, I wouldn't even be able to eat that bacon it looks uncooked :-) and those type of hashbrowns on your plate are what you get at McDonald's or other fast food place. When you order hashbrowns at a restaurant they are shredded potatoes that are then fried up. Yum!
Fair enough. Thanks Karen 👍🏼
This is an unusual concept. I'm in the United States A.K.A the "Colonies" and in the airports here most of the restaurants are on the flight side of the TSA check points so you would need a ticket on a flight to review the restaurants. I think you should do a ten day flight around the world stopping at ten different airports in ten different countries and review a meal in each airport. You could call it "Gary eats the World". BonVoyage Gary 🗺✈🍽🍸
Great idea but not at this moment Daniel but thank you 😊
Nice little twist Gary, when I take my family on holiday I add all the airport expense into my budget, but I would like you to maybe get into a VIP lounge and review that as you can add that package to your holiday, is it worth it? Let’s give it a go 😂🎉
Haha I’ll see what I can do George. Thanks 👍🏼
Im gunna be at heathrow this summer when i go away on holiday, so this vid was helpful on where to go for food when im there haha
That’s great to hear
Four "Let's Give It A Go's" in one superlative video. We're all better for that!
For flight delays I used to settle in at a nice airport restaurant booth instead of waiting with the masses. It was well worth it. I'd make sure to tip big and often. Now my credit cards cover the lounge, but not always. Still a good alternative.
Haha thank you. I thought I said it too many times 🤣
@@GaryEats We can never get too many "Let's Give It A Go." In-fact, how about an compilation of every Let's Give It A Go's?
Oh no one needs that!! lol
I thought the exact same thing when your burger arrived, it looked very well made and of course very tasty, but really small.
It was!
Microwaved pasta, that would be 5 out of 10 maximum from me. Absolutely no excuse for microwaving a simple pasta dish. I could knock that out using fresh veg and dried pasta in 15 minutes max and probably cook it in 5 minute using fresh pasta. At least they were generous with the cheese i guess. Thanks for taking the hit on the airport microwave meal Gary. Love your work, honest and down to earth
Really appreciate that mate
Good to know some of these places. In July I am flying home from a holiday in USA and I have to spend a few hours in the UK at Heathrow while I change flights so will try one of these eating places.
More than welcome!
This is fantastic Gary, but all the best for this series of videos. It's definitely different.
Glad you enjoyed it
Oceanic oceanic cafe the oceanic cafe with breakfast orders at Heathrow Airport when is fantastic at the oceanic in Heathrow Airport Terminal 3
Nice one Gary, it will interesting to see the comparisons across the country
Thanks 👍
Hi, Gary. Enjoyed the vid as always, pal. East Midlands was ok until Leon shut up shop. Don't know what Ramsay's Plane Food is like. With airports in general, the food tends to cost more than the bloody plane-ticket!
Do a review of one of those big motorway service station complexes - daylight robbery! Confusing if you're tired from driving - you end up buying/eating anything anywhere (maybe that's the idea).
All the best, keep 'em coming!
👍
I think I’ll give this a miss to be fair
Thank you!
Interesting idea to visit airports and try the food; I only liked the look of the tiny burger you had. But I remember many years ago I had a friend who's sister was an auditor and she was going through the books of what was then a major high street restaurant chain and discovered the true cost to the retailer of catering sausages - something like fractions of pennies each! It's made me avoid catering sausages forever after finding that out and it looks like you stumbled across some here.
You’re right the burger was very small and the sausage very disappointing
Love the new content, this was a lot of fun to watch. It's great to see the channel evolving as it grows, this is shaping up to be one of the best review channels on YT. Looking forward to seeing where you guys go next, I'm always excited to see a new upload. Keep at it Gary, you're a natural at this! 🙂
One of the kindest comments I’ve read. Thank you 😄
Top Tip: Where you sat late on in the Oceanic is where plugs are located for all your charging needs
Very nice
Think this is the first time I’ve seen someone review the food at the airport, great idea. I thought all the meals were overpriced but they have a captive audience so I guess charge what they like. The pasta meal was definitely something brought in and microwaved then just some Parmesan added before serving. The breakfast looked actually ok, my one bug bear, and so many places do it, is that the toast is perched on the breakfast plate rather than on a side plate and there’s never enough butter. As always, great reviews and interesting concept
Thank you just trying to do different ideas 💡
Great Video Gary, the production also looking sharper, props to the (invisible) cameraman!!!Before I relocated to beautiful Clovelly in North Devon I was Senior a GM at Fuller's, we had the HUGE T2 at Heathrow, and when Wetherspoons couldn't make it work we purchased and renamed the other pub The Queens Arms in T2, so we had one on each side of terminal, regarding your burger, Charlcroft farm (Southampton) supplied the meat for all our burgers, some almost 400 pubs/hotels (imaging just how many 1000's and 1000's of burger we ordered as a company each week!) and the gouda used to be a HSB (a Fuller's Ale) smoked gouda that really hit the spot, as with any big company the prices go up, the burger you ate today will be exactly the same in any Fuller's establishment and is a "must stock" on the menu, but the price will, as you found out today, vary wildly!! Ref the chips, they would have been deep fried as usual (not allowed to oven cook) but look like they've been "hot held" quite a while! Really, as always enjoying watching you exploring your style and trying new formats, i'm still waiting for the sad day when you simply have toooooo many comments to answer!! GM Rich
Wow Richard you definitely know Fuller’s, so no disagreement this end, thank you for spending so much time commenting that is really appreciated, appreciate you’re comment regarding the camera work and I will let the cameraman know, I will always try to comment to everyone as I appreciate everyone spending time watching and commenting, hopefully 🙏 I can always get the time 😊
Hi Gary and Mr Cameraman
Well this was an unexpected vlog, but a good one.
Re your breakfast i can give you a little incite into that, they use booker for there food and the sausage you had you quite correctly identified as catering, its 53% pork and there just over 12p each, such a shame when the bacon seemed a decent quality.
The Burger, well that looked great, i think the cheese made it, plus the burger was quality, but like you said your self the price was a bit over the top and the portion small.
As for the pasta i thought that looked quite nice actually, but it would of tasted better at £9-99.
Hope you get to try a fish proper restaurant in your busy schedule.
Randall & Aubin, Parson's, and J Sheekey are all first class
Chris.
Thanks for the recommendations Chris. Yes, as we already knew. Airport food is a very overpriced… thanks mate. Appreciate you commenting and have a good weekend 👍🏼
Hi Gary, great video. I know you mention the size of the meals but the burger and chips looked like a normal sized meal to be fair. Some people eat more than others so i guess a restaurant has to balance that in order to cut down on food waste. The burger looked like a decent size.
I disagree Luke, it was very small portion as was the chips
I don’t fly so I know absolutely nothing about airport food. I’d say it was pricey especially for that kids meal burger. It all looked good and I appreciate this video. Kudos to the camera man!
Thank you very much, Cindy x
Another great review Gary , the price for an airport was actually not bad
Thank you 😄
The fry up wasn’t covered in a harvest of rocket so technically was better than another notorious breakfast reviewed on this channel
🤣🤣 never going back!
When I lived in Harrow back in the 70s and 80s I used to get the bus to Heathrow to watch the planes and have a meal...it was a cheap day out...
Very different now Robert!
What a good idea spending the day at Heathrow eating all your meals, love your videos mate, never get bored of them
Thank you Jenny that is really appreciated
Some of the best food I have ever eaten was at Helsinki airport, Michelin Star standard for Heathrow prices although a glass of wine was £15 quid.
Wow that’s impressive
Your correspondents are correct. Hash browns have no place on a full English. But black pudding does!! (and so do mushrooms??!!)
Haha fair enough 👍🏼
You certainly get around and find something different. I would love a review of Japanese cuisine somewhere not to expensive keep it up..
Hi Michael believe it or not I have twice but the videos didn’t work, third time luck 👍
I must becoming an expert I guessed the right scores . Never had a great meal at any airport. Thank you once again for doing such a good job , this would be an ideal job for me , except I would only do the puddings . If you ever want a helper I am here . Live in Cyprus but can travel xx
I'm getting far too predictable!
