PA North coast here. I remember when this and Temptation released on the London station. Immediately dropped where I was driving to and went to Walmart and bought the CD. A true Northern Jewel.
I've been in love with Emissaries for three or four years now, didn't realize Melechesh's was a cover until today. Damn this is a sweet track! I'd better listen to some more of these guys.
it depends on which version you listened to first. To me because I've been a huge of the tea party, I think no version will be better than the original. cheers
Come face to face with it Pushed on your side Lose all your self control Worlds will collide Inside out, you can't cope My gryoscope Witness the fall from grace You shed your skin Change if it pleases you Just don't give in Inside out, you can't cope My gyroscope Quiet now she said You're waking up the dead I cradle the excuse In love with the abuse I handle it with ease It's a dignified disease Slow down Soul searching breaks you down You'll never learn Annihilate yourself All things must burn Inside out, you can't cope My gyroscope
They lost so much of their inspiration after only a few years... from three great albums, two of which remain among the very best rock albums I've ever heard, to a much blander, more commercial sound, stripped of all the unique instruments, esoteric references, and dark atmosphere that made their original music so striking. Sad to see the quest these guys originally portrayed their music as end with money, marriage and middle age; the spiritual nature of the original music seems to have imagined something higher than that. Phases pass I guess.
While Triptych has some more commercially available songs, it also has some of their most ambitious, including Halcyon Days. Great Big Lie is a great example of using their electronic elements more effectively. These Living Arms is just a great song.
thank you for this comment, you have summarized my thoughts exactly. the 90s was the rebirth of the new age movement, the last chance for art to express spiritual ideas and experiment with world sounds and real creativity, before the unfortunate dawn of the singular, bland, uninspired materialist hipsterism of our current age took everything over.
when I first heard Triptych I was confused. It wasn't Edges and it definitely wasn't Transmission but on my second listen I loved it. start to finish I loved it. next came "Interzone Mantras" and I immediately loved it. Triptych was to me a side step in the evolution. a great stand alone record that had a hit song but Interzone was a return to the Edges sound with the production of Transmission. Edges will always hold a special place in my heart but as much as I love Transmission, I love Interzone just as much, but for very different reasons. that's that makes this band so great.

Come face to face with it

Quiet now she said
You're waking up the dead
I cradle the excuse
In love with the abuse
I handle it with ease
It's a dignified disease
Slow down
Soul searching breaks you down
You'll never learn
Annihilate yourself
All things must burn
Inside out, you can't cope
My gyroscope

Maybe a lukewarm reaction made them say fuck it...
@@jeffwilliamson9795 I poached my brand name from that song, lol. But paid for it by gifting many instruments to the band in return over the years…:)
should be longer,,...solo section? some other shit? something? anything?
great tune
melechesh's cover is hella better
U kidding? no
Quite simply... NO!
