Honestly a fit woman who volunteered to fight is a better soldier than an unfit conscript male who doesn't want to be there. Endurance and morale are the most important factors of what makes a good rifleman. That's not to say that we should ease standards for women, but for most infantry roles they're fine. Might even be good for morale to have some women around. The distance from even platonic female contact is one of the hardest things mentally about being in the military.

Im a girl and i used to play that one call of duty with Reznov in Vorkuta or something and now that i think about it all the characters in that game were men. Side, main, all men. While they were there, there was demonstration/protest by native Americans. The "black Israelites were also there, stirring up trouble. The media spun the story and edited the footage to look like the kids went up to the native guy to harass him. The famous image is of a kid in a Maga hat chuckling while a native guy plays a drum. Later, the full video was released and showed the exact opposite. But, until that happened the kids were fair game. They were dragged over the coals in the media, like adults. But people thought it was okay because they were wearing Maga hats. That's pretty much it. There was a defamation lawsuit, and CNN and a few other agencies settled out of court, but they lost the lawsuit against several other agencies. Nothing really came of it. There were no apologies, they just tried to act like the story never happened.

Im a girl and i used to play that one call of duty with Reznov in Vorkuta or something and now that i think about it all the characters in that game were men. Side, main, all men. It had nevet occurred to me as a girl oh why are they excluding women or "i dont feel represented" I was just like thats a cool story and a fun game. Never had a problem like that with any other game or movie either. Plus all those characters weren't put there to "promote men power" that you have to deter by putting a bunch of women in games instead, it just was what it was and everyone understood it as that. Every game, movie or show doesnt need to be about representation, its just annoying

Plenty of female French resistance fighters and Soviet soldiers in WW2. Resistance fighters were trained and packing heat in France. Some of whom were burned alive by the Nazis when their cover was blown. Also, females comprised top rank sniper units in the Soviet army.

Like a scary Orwellian style revision of a historical moment for the sake of adding a powerful girl boss that never could have realistically existed in that setting or time. So here's the story.
Covington catholic school sent kids on a field trip to Washington D.C. while there, they bought Maga hats. While they were there, there was demonstration/protest by native Americans. The "black Israelites were also there, stirring up trouble.
Basically what happened is that the natives saw the kids in the Maga hats, and started harassing them. The media spun the story and edited the footage to look like the kids went up to the native guy to harass him. The famous image is of a kid in a Maga hat chuckling while a native guy plays a drum. Later, the full video was released and showed the exact opposite. But, until that happened the kids were fair game. They were dragged over the coals in the media, like adults. But people thought it was okay because they were wearing Maga hats.
That's pretty much it. There was a defamation lawsuit, and CNN and a few other agencies settled out of court, but they lost the lawsuit against several other agencies. Nothing really came of it. There were no apologies, they just tried to act like the story never happened.

I like Shane but when I listen to enough of his clips it becomes evident how NOT informed he is. At the end of this clip he talks about the Covington kids & shows how dumb he can be. The Covington kids didn’t do anything wrong, & the Native American with the drum was the one who was doing the bullying & getting in their faces, not the other way around. Also, he was not “the man” who served in Vietnam. He deserted.
He didn't even serve in Vietnam. He was just in the Army while the war was going on. He was some refrigeration technician in North Dakota or some shit.
I love Shane and his material, but to be historically accurate, over 350,000 women served in WW2 in various combat roles including armored units, infantry, bombers, and as snipers, suffering several thousand casualties and with over 11,000 confirmed kills. Granted most of them were Russian who are an entirely different breed, but still, facts.
Side note: my mom was a track vehicle mechanic in the army in the 80s and she's more of a man than any of these dooshy podcasters nowadays.
