    Doug made a great jump. And he has huge respect for Evel Knievel. Nice job Doug Danger. Evel would have loved it Im sure.

    He could have easily had jumped 25 cars! Perfect take off and landing! Great job. It looks easy but 99.9% of the people in that audience would never even try it.Daredevils are a different breed of human.

    It may be Evel's XR750, but that remote reservoir,adjustable,progressive spring rear suspension and progressively sprung, long travel front end had not been invented when Evel jumped. Single rate buggy springs with 3.5 inches of travel was state of the art in the 60's and 70's. That's why DD could land flat and smooth and Evel had to land on the back wheel and then withstand the rapid and vicious unloading of the bottomed out suspension........Just sayin'....

    • @psychosneighbor1509
      @psychosneighbor1509 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And don't forget about the ramp. Evel never had a transition like that. It was zero-degrees twenty-degrees. He bottomed as soon as he hit it and left the ramp somewhere on the rebound which would be sketchy as hell...

      Evils bike had about 2" of travel.🤣

      Yes the rear suspension has modern shocks but still a excellent jump

    When Evel Knievel started jumping he was limited on the science to help with speed, angle, weight, Evel Knievel got some ramps lined them up straight put some cars in there and get on a bike with no tach or speedometer and made a couple drive by and then lined her up and went, nerve, balls, courage, or just nuts, he had it all that can make you go up the ramp,

    I work at the Buffalo Chip as a stagehand and I used my pull to get on the front of house deck area with my girlfriend, who also works there. Great view and I talked to Herr Danger backstage, he's got full backing of the Knievle family, using a bike that Evil failed on. I've worked for Robbie Knievel for about 3 jumps, the one word used to describe him by everyone is "drunk".My name is Bicycle Bob and I approved this message and celebrities are just normal, but famous, usually for no reason.

    Doug knew something Evil didn't...the rear wheel's rotating inertia could be used to control the attitude of the bike in mid air. Once Evil was in the air he was always just cargo. Some of his landing were really sketchy and well...horrendous crashes. Go Doug!!! And RIP Evil...
