Many years ago I was a picture framer in an art store in Lakewood,NJ U.S.A.
I met a Mrs/MS Tuttle who belonged to a society of Porcelain Doll Makers.
She would take a portrait of someone, often children and create a replicate of the face and limbs which resulted in a realistic porcelain doll.
I think she was quite well known .
This video brought back my memory of her, thank you.
I am amazed at the detailed porcelain figure remnants you find.
They all seem to have individual personalities.
I know if you persist in your pursuits you will always get a head:)

Hiya, just wanted to tell you both how much joy it brings me watching you two look for treasures. I watch video after video soaking it up, just as excited as you get. I'm in Australia, I'm 60yr old and have always loved searching for little treasures. I recently worked at the local tip. I LOVED IT, the things people threw out after their grandparents died or another elderly person. It would break my heart sometimes to see years of someone's needle work, sewing bits and bobs, painting brushes, vintage fabrics, so much costume jewellery and anything in between. My poor little car would be bursting at the seams each night when I knocked off. I've saved and restored most of it. Unfortunately I'm running low on materials because I've been quite ill and had to stop working. Yr videos inspire me to get out and start searching for goodies. THANKYOU LOVELY LADIES 😊✌💕

Potter here. Great job! Please be sure to wear a respirator when dealing with clay dust, or better yet, clean up your greenware outdoors while wearing a mask. Also, no need to blend air into your slip (although that worked pretty well). Just put little chunks of clay into a cardboard box or something to dry completely, then put it in a jar or small bucket and pour water over it. The clay will naturally break down into slip. If you still have some clumps that need broken up, just use an immersion blender or even a paint stick. The wetter your slip, the more it will shrink. If it’s too thin, let it settle some and pour some water off the top. You can keep slip like this in a jar pretty much indefinitely, just giving it a stir before using. I’m so glad you’re making more videos of your arts and crafts. They’re so fun to watch!

All the faces are stunning. Love your artistic talents. Who knew the love of the forgotten and lost doll faces/parts would be remembered and cherished by you two...?

I love those little heads you both made. Was a lot of work went into them and looked so good painted and glazed. When Gail was painting the dark hair on the boys face, it reminded me of a school friend lol.
    Thank you and take care

Brilliant, you do all the failures, testing, research and we can see the effort and such an inspiration. It nice to be able to see a use for things others throw away. Makes a walk on the beach or knowing the history of your local area so much fun and a lovely excuse to hoard everything and have treasure boxes to touch and feel things from the past. Nice way to slow down, make life feel longer and enjoy it.

They look really good and with that poison bottle it makes me think of some kind of luxury 'Cluedo'. That would appear to be a very successful experiment.

Oh wow! They are amazing! The glaze just makes them so perfect! Even the imperfect ones! I love the way the two of you not only try new things but above all you try them *together* - watching you working side by side is so lovely. Your creativity and artistic endeavours never cease to delight and inspire. Hope we get to see more heads etc one day! I love the little plates, they are adorable. You could end up with a tea service!

Absolutely incredible! So glad I saved this video so I could watch it on the weekend! You two ladies are amazing artists, such an imagination for the faces. Are they going to be pendants? Magnets? I’d love a magnet, then I can look at them everyday! Wow! ❤️❤️❤️

I really enjoy seeing your excitement over your finds! It is snowing and sleeting here today. It is cold and not a day for going out. So watching you two is a wonderful way to spend a little time! And your finished products are beautiful!
