I got out in the arrowhead of northern MN with my dog last weekend. It was super awesome!!! It was as warm as 21-22 C during day and cooled very little at night. I saw the same sunset you saw on the other side of the planet. I also love being out in the forest it’s where we come alive. I see my dog come back to life after a weekend chasing partridge through the weeds. Thanks Lars best to you and yours!
It is awesome to be out in the woods. I can not longer do it because of my age and physical condition.. But I have over 50 years of memories and when I see these videos of yours I can smell the woods and feel the openness. Love your alien protection.. have you been into the beer again? or are you just happy as a school kid on vacation to be back in the woods again? That is kind of funny grandfather forest.. I used to bring with various things with me to leave at every campsite I made a little something for the forest creatures.. depending on the time of year there were peanuts and sunflower seeds or maybe a bit of ground meat with suite in the colder months and always bird seeds.. Best to share your bounty with all I think..

Looking forward to it getting colder and see where it takes you. Surprised the ration packs haven't advanced to pouches like US and UK variants.
Hi there Lars .. 👍👍👍 Awesome 😊. Back in the 70's in South Africa, the 2 litre Coke Plastic Bottles were of a much thicker construction .. almost like a 105mm shell casing 😏. Full of water, one could sit on them. To allow for easier storage in our packs, we used to remove the bottom (glued on) thinner flat plastic base and then 'A for Away' 😊. Ok, they could then not be stood upright, but who cared. Yep, they don't make them like they used to .. 'Kasha' .. looked it up. 'Groats' or a derivative thereof. Pretty much a traditional Staple in Eastern Europe. A nice outing and I enjoyed watching as much as you appeared to be doing. Thanks for sharing. Until next time, take care .. Tommy
We haven't gotten to sub zero yet but we have been having unseasonably cool nights and days here in Missouri. It's been in the high teens low 20's Fahrenheit that last 3-4 days. We had to cover our turnips to keep them alive! Glad you all are safe Lars. Take care, God bless.

Lars; As a result of your shameless promotion of the Silky Bigboy saw I purchased two of them in the Outback version. One for use with my Honda four-wheeler and the other for my boat , both of them are used to travel into the remote wilderness of Northern Ontario Canada. I agree with you these saws are totally awesome and most useful. Have not tried the Siberian log fire yet but if it saves me from a slow lingering death in the cold and dark some night you will have my heartfelt thanks.
This kind of stuff would be good to know in case someone were to cut off your fuel supply. Stay safe and respect your neighbors. Stand up for what is right, but be careful of those with more power than you. The little people have to bite their tongue sometimes. Enjoy your camping!

Idea for your jacket- have a designated zipper pocket that you can fit a back up folder and fire steel. (Or an altoids ton of your that kind of person 😉)
Great. How about moving your big pot hanging frame over to the fire, and it could be used to support a tarp with the other side attached to your shelter roof if it is raining you can collect rainwater doing that, saves bringing it in everytime

Never ceases to amaze me some places have straight trees. I can't find enough straight wood on my property to make a quick shelter... and you can barely walk freely without having to dodge skin rippers on my land. In my neck of the Southern U.S. we have busted oak trees dropping crooked limbs on yer head all the time. Bonus is ya can live off all the oak nuts and the meat from the others living on em. Pines for VitC and fuel aren't common in my direct area. Trees are awesome. Great to see ya back in the sticks and may God bless you and yours.

Hello. I think than you shall ameliorate this shelter. You can built a little wall between the shelter and the little tree just where you sit down for eating. And built a table/platform.
I don't know if Wiktor Suworow can be trusted or not, but his "Aquarium" has a very interesting part on Specnaz. It says that they had only 810 g of water (?!), and 2.765 g of food. Only one spair pair of thick 100% wool socks, storm matches, water purification tablets, stove with tablets. There was a description of Specnaz's clothes. It motivated me to buy two Danish surplus mesh t-shirts and they are really good stuff. I don't know why, but his description of hardcore Specnaz military exercise gives me so much outdoor motivation.

I lived off grid for 3 years in Oklahoma, it gets pretty cold,pretty hot...I can survive
