  • This seminar is part of the NOAA Southeast and Caribbean Regional Collaboration Team (SECART) 2024 Hurricane Awareness Webinar Series. This webinar series takes place throughout the month of May, where each week SECART features various topics as we prepare for the start of this year’s hurricane season on June 1st.
This is the third webinar of the SECART 2024 Hurricane Awareness Webinar Series. The Hurricane Awareness Webinar Series highlights the information and capabilities to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Each webinar will explore various topics that are regionally-relevant and will focus on the latest data, tools, and services from NOAA. This third webinar focused on the efforts of The HERS (Hurricane Ecosystem Response Synthesis) RCN (Research Coordination Network). The presentation included rationale for the project, moving past “my system, my storm” case studies, summarizing the efforts so far and what has been learned through data synthesis, and where the research coordination network efforts are headed next, presented by Dr. Christopher Patrick, Director of SAV Monitoring & Restoration Program and Associate Professor at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
This webinar was recorded on May 14, 2024.
