All good options. We will add what we do that ours love. We do freeze any all the berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)from our bushes/plants that aren't going to be for preserving. We also freeze bananas, peaches, melons, squashes, tomatoes etc. you get the idea. Mark the bags "chickens only". We fill 2 pans and pour water over one. We freeze ice cubes with rose petals or oregano to put in their hanging waterer's. I use a hand sprayer hooked to the hose and set on mist...hang about 3-4 ft above the ground on the fence..i the shade. It creates a cool zone just like an amusement park. They love it! They have many areas for dust bathing. We don't give corn in the warmer/hot temps. It makes them hotter..so cold weather for us. We have a fan drawing heat from the coop for when they are laying eggs. Once a day I spray the roof down to help cool the coop. A half gallon creamer bottle with frozen water in the boxes helps to. Sorry this is long...hope any of it will help someone. Did yours get in the pool? 👍😊
I haven't seen a single one get in the pool yet! They have been drinking the water. Debra Sanders above mentioned to put some blocks in the pool. I may try that and see if they seem interested in it. May have to try the water mist set up. Thanks for all of your great suggestions!
I have a pool for my chickens and I have a couple blocks in it. I throw mealworms in there for them so they have to get in there and they get the cool water and it's in the shade. I change it every other day.
I put a large bowl of ice water in with the chickens and it was gone in two hours. They also love diced tomatoes from the fridge. I like your idea of frozen fruit and veggies.
My understanding is that some foods act as "heat generating" foods. Corn and grain is an example. Maybe that only applies to dried varieties. Because the same person says "Fresh is best".... IDK... ✌🏻
I have been checking on my girls EVERY HOUR. It’s 96 here today, so humid. I’ve been doing ice water and a little feeder pool. They won’t get in the feeder dish pool!!?!
It has been really hot and humid this summer! mostly because we had such a wet spring and early summer! I am with you! I would prefer your summers, but not the winters.
We've done the ice before. We would freeze water in used plastic containers. They seemed to really like that.
Good idea. I will have to try making some big ice cubes and put that in the water!
Green Dream Project That’s a great idea!! Thank you! I have a herd of 21 goats and a big tank, so that would be perfect!

Great idea about putting blocks in it! I will have to give that a try!
Good ideas

That is a great idea also. I put some Tomatoes out for them the other day, but they were not refrigerated. I will have to try that next time.
U take excellent care of your animals. Beautiful place
Thank you! We really do try to take great care of them!
Yes in this heat we have to be diligent caretakers for sure!
For sure! We have to check on them a few more times through out the day. Thanks for watching.
@4:00 as soon as you start opening the bags... here comes some curious chickens LOL
That chicken is one of my Favorites. Piccolo is a very personable chicken and very chatty! How are you liking having chickens?
@@RockingCHomestead we love the girls! They're hilarious 😂
Chickens are really funny to watch! It's amazing how they have different personalities.
Glad you’re finding ways to keep the animals as cool as possible in this oppressive heat!
It has been pretty dang hot lately!
So sweet. Everyone is looking happy despite the heat. Take care!
They are doing great! However, the pool has a leak in it!
👍😎
Thanks for watching.

I have heard the same thing, they really don't eat a lot of the corn when we have tried it, but it did cool down the water.
Great video Lance. They really do get hot and need these helpful hints to keep them cool.
Thank you! Yes they do! Thanks for watching!

Rocking C Homestead yeah, I added the electrolyte powder to their swimming pan because they keep drinking it. 😂😂 #winning. 😂😂 GET IN THE WATER!!
