So good to see someone else using a good old rapid , I still have my Mfr and a late ttr2 , ive got no quick fill or gauges fitted , both rifles had Ben Taylor's magic fingers blue print them ,about 9 years ago , I service them myself every two years , I use my Mfr for hunting and hft , and every month I ( well my Mfr) out shoots all the guys who have £2500 rifles and £1000 scopes , I hate that theoben ended and became r.a.w in America , they were so well made , still one of my favourites to this day .
Oh I will my friend , I've spent thousands on daystate ltd editions , grey shadow ( tarted up airwolf) huntsman forester and buckmaster , r 10s, FX impacts ,etc etc , all of them have been sold , I've never even considered selling any of my theobens , I love how solid they are ,and I'm able to maintain them and keep them in working order ( they aren't that complicated to work on ) over the years I've learned how to take things apart if needed , that's not something that you can easily do with most of the modern brand of PCP rifles ,FX and daystates are pigs to work on ( especially the fxs ) I'm one of the lucky ones when I comes to my ttr2 some had painted black wooden stocks , others had horrible polymer stocks , I love that I've got the wooden stocked version , happy hunting mate , I'm about to sub .
@@NottsPestControl yep I sold my ft mk 2 rapid , and regular mk2 rapid , I wish I hadn't ,at least I still have these two , the ttr is in.20 ,an amazing and massively overlooked calibre in my opinion .
Great video . Just got my hands on a pard lrf . Used it for the first time on the farm last week bunny bashing. That built in lrf is a game changer for me as I can not range for shit on the dark nights 🙈🙈🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Absolutely mate, the fact it works as easily in daylight is the big bonus for the farmyard where birds are landing randomly around me at different distances. As you say a real game changer, I don’t use any other scopes now on my PCP’s I just swap the Pard around as it remembers 5 different zero’s. Brilliant
@@NottsPestControl or if you can't be arsed or your not that good with your mil dots you can also use the different reticles for 5 different distances . But to be honest if you've gotta do that then you should get back to shooting range and not be shooting pests 👍👌🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks for the vid I had the same gun same tyroleon stock, my cheek just moulded into that amazing stock big regret selling that gun. Some belting shots , well done for not shooting bird with chick's good onya pal
Thanks mate, always got to do the right thing we’ve got enough enemies of shooting without making more. If I had a £1 for everytime someone told me they’d regretted selling their Rapid I’d be set for life! We all have a gun we regret selling sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone
hey buddy that reg sounds amazing and definitely on the to do list thanks for the mention about the T2PRO will look forward to seeing what you think pal
It’s a very easy kit to install as the Rapid is inherently simple by design. The regulator comes pre set to the required/requested pressure for the calibre of the rifle and also two different hammer springs. All I had to do was drop in a hammer spring and adjust for power over a chrono. I settled on the slightly stronger spring as it gave me a lighter strike for the power I wanted. Anyone who has some Allen keys (remember you’ll need an imperial and metric set as the rapid uses both!) and an adjustable spanner can fit the reg. Clamping the action in a vice with soft jaws will make the removal of the bottle adaptor easier as they are usually very tight. A TH-cam or Google search will bring up several articles showing how to service and dismantle a Rapid. Sub12 airgunner has a good one, if anyone has any questions about it contact Steve at www.HW100Tuning.co.uk
Hi.. can u advise on the piccatini rail you have onto the dovetail? I'm struggling with a set of Bisley gripping on for grim death and they are offset! I'm using a 12 shot mag also. Thank you
It’s a Pard008LRF with built in rangefinder, the main uk agent is Sportsman Gun Centre but I bought mine used from the Airgunforum. You can find them occasionally for around £500/£600 on eBay or Airgun forums sales section. They also do one without the rangefinder so if you want one make sure it’s the LRF version
@@bamoore65 I can’t recommend them enough an absolute game changer. I use it on all my PCP’s, my Rapid, GSX200 and a Daystate Renegade I’ve recently bought as it remembers 5 different zero settings so you can have it set for 5 different guns or pellets and just switch between them. I’ve fitted the 3 guns with a picatinny rail on their scope rails so I can just switch it between them. Superb bit of kit
Wife told me that she wants one on hers too. Looks like I will be getting 2. Thanks again for your help. In the long run I will save money not having to purchase a scope, rangefinder, night vision, or a camara attachment. The Pard008LRF is all of those in one.
Yes it was Hydua African hardwood. I think the profile stocks on the rapids were made of it and also some of the gas rams. I had an Olympus that had a thumbhole Hydua stock. It’s banned for export from Africa now as it’s endangered
Nice to see you back Martin. Great shooting. The rapid reg upgrades look very interesting from HW100 tuning
Thanks Jeff. Nice that the Rapid is still getting upgrades after all these years!
Good to see you back. Always a good watch. Stay safe.
Thanks Wayne, always nice to hear from you.
Lovely shooting fella. And nice kit you’ve got.The Theobens seem really good quality guns.Glad you’re pleased with your new reg!
