Daniel Miroslaw is spectacular, in both diction and phrasing. Funniest Don Magnifico since Montarsolo and Corbelli!
Do you find him funny? I actually found him to be too serious and too angry! Also looking and acting too young to be the father of two adult girls. But I liked his singing very much.
@@johnsarkissian5519 I found his comedic timing impeccable, yes, despite a body language that was maybe a bit stiff. But then Corbelli, Dara, and Montarsolo aren't that much different
@@VladChess I agree with you about his comedic timing. On the other hand, Corbelli, Montarsolo and Dara really looked the part. They were already funny to look at. But a young and good looking man with hardly any makeup and a rather stern facial expression doesn’t look funny to me. That said, Baveyan (singing Dandini) is also young and good looking, and I have seen him in serious roles where he is fantastic, and yet here he also manages to be extremely funny. Perhaps it’s just a matter of facial expressions.
What a magnificent prodution. Even though the singers aren't superstars they are just as good. The sings and acting is outsranding. Even the orcheastra was wounderful. All I can say is, this is fantastic. Thankyou so much for posting this.

Viva la gioventù! Questa edizione del capolavoro rossiniano probabilmente non passerà alla storia, ma scenografia, costumi, entusiasmo giovanile degli interpreti ne fanno uno spettacolo godibilissimo, pur in presenza di qualche imperfezione qua e là; criticabile, poi, la scelta di avere omesso la"aria di Alidoro", forse la più bella musica mai scritta per basso...

A kaleidoscope of a production! I am not really a fan of back projections but in this case they were so creative and beautiful they deserved an applause all of there own. Svetlina Stoyanova is a delight, the costumes were fabulous and the lighting was better than most in house opera productions these days. Congratulations to all, and it is nice to see everyone involved fully credited. 10/10

El ÚNICO PROBLEMA DE ESTA MARAVILLOSA PRODUCCIÓN, ES LA ABSOLUTA AUSENCIA DE SUBTITULACIÓN. PARA MÍ ESO NO ES UNA FALTA, PUES LEO Y HABLO ITALIANO, PERO QUIZÁ LOS REALIZADORES DEBERÍAN HABERLA SUBTITULADO EN INGLÉS, FRANCÉS, ALEMÁN, ESPAÑOL U OTRO IDIOMA ACCESIBLE PARA LOS FANÁTICOS ROSSINIANOS.
I am familiar with the opera, have seen it many times, and have several recordings of it. But I'm not a native speaker of Italian, so it would have been helpful to have subtitles. But that's my only quibble. This is such a fun production, so lovely to look at. Good singing.

Very good production - a visual feast and good use of projections.. bravi!!
A beautiful and stunning performance. The music was marvelous, Stoyanova’s singing was non-pareil And by the time she got to the finale, when her voice should have been giving out, it was as if she had an oxygen tank strapped to her back. Her rendering of “non più mesta,” was simply incredible. I found the lighting to be amazing, and it gave so much to the overall performance. I have seen the opera about thirty times and would rate this as one of the top three performances along with von Stade and DiDonato.

The orchestra plays everything through the score at a very high level with ease and pleasure.
The singing skills are on a very high level. Bravo!
I especially liked the colorful videos.
Unfortunately, the sound on the left and right stereo channels was only mono for me.
Maybe something can be improved there.

Absolutely bloody magnificent, such ingenuity and imagination. The orchestra is superb, the costumes are lavishly beautiful, the performances are stellar in the extreme. I have now almost run out of superlatives :-) I haven't come across this opera by Rossini, such a joyful experience, thank you to everyone involved for making my day. The Rossini Opera Festival opens its autumn season this weekend with two streamed concerts, in which I believe Svetlina Stoyanova takes part, next weekend will be the two productions of Barbiere and Viaggio a Reims, and I think she will sing Rosina there.

Una puesta en escena realmente fantástica. Me recordó mi infancia en la cual Cachirulo (Enrique Alonso), nos deleitaba a los niños de los años 60tas (toda proporción guardada).

Stoyanova sang everything very lightly until the finale. Cenerentola is not a soprano role. It is supposed to be dark and lower. This essaying was pleasant but lacked the contralto demands to contrast with the extremely high tenor part. Fun production with much color and unusual mashup of historical periods. Everyone else sang well. The microphones were working however.
That's a real fairytale!
For me it's better to be realistic but did feel like it's a dream come true. I love this opera so much for that

Body mics should be hidden in the hair/wig or a hat, not plastered onto the foreheads of singers....if a video is going to be made of a production. Also, visually the production face is too busy. Otherwise, it is fine.

Ok. The stage designer figured out the big number at the end is connected to mechanical machinery--a hot new thing in Rossini's time. But what does it have to do with the 17th century? And why do the singers all have the Mark of the Beast on their foreheads?

Why isn't the prince clean shaven according to the period? This anachronism drives me crazy. I figured the Italians would know better.

Vaya chasco que hayan eliminado tan sublime aria de esta representación. Me retiro en ese punto de su ausencia sin escuchar el resto del evento; ya no me interesa. Me ha resultado bochornoso.
Meu Deus! O Maestro Rossini deve estar dando voltas no túmulo. Nunca ouvi uma coisa tão pertubadoramente ruim como essa produção de La Cenerentola.
