Nice walkaround... I was telling Jeff about this RTT and how it may be an option for us although with the dogs, we may be destined to stay in a ground tent.
@@metalcloakmikeya the grub bolts it shows in the manual are 60mm long which is only 2.3 inches so worried they won’t be long enough for 2 inch square bars and the provided screw knobs. Do they include longer bolts ?
@@unounv I don't recall, but there IS some other hardware in the bag. Reach out to them and they should be able to clarify. I don't think it would be too difficult to source the correct hardware at the local hardware store as a worse-case scenario.

I love your setup I just bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JK 2-door 50,990 miles i got it 7months ago and I want to put a lift on it metal clip but they're pretty expensive shoot I would do some advertising on my jeep as well to get a deal on a lift. 3- 3.5 inch is good i want to run 35"-37" tires and want a roof top tent.
Have you noticed any negative off road performance with the extra top weight? I've wanted a rooftop tent for a while now, but I'm concerned with adding a couple hundred pounds up top.
@@strix9013 no degradation in performance so to speak, but you do feel the weight up there. I’m just more careful about off-camber and steep situations.
ha! I will NOT take an RTT through the Rubicon. I prefer lightweight and nimble rigs, but for long haul trips where I'm camping and driving more (Overlanding), the RTT is nice. After Overland Expo, I'll be removing the RTT for some fun summer day trips up to the Rubicon and if I do an overnight, I'll be in a ground tent as usual.
Thanks for the review about the tent! Always great to get some feedback🤗
Lots of cool features on the Roof Space!

If you ever want to borrow the tent for a bit, let me know. It's here at Metalcloak.
Did the tent come with different types of mounting brackets ? My bed rack had 2x2 square bars.
yeah, and the steel plates that it came with should work fine with the 2" bars

Is there a US based retailer that sells this? Thank you for the overview

There are about 13 retailers in the US and more to come :)

Thinking of getting this tent and this review was very helpful. How did you find the mattress compared to other RTT? Thank you!

Where are you supposed to store the ladder? Can it be placed in the tent when closing it?
@@Gazziza29 it can fit in there, but it’s a tight squeeze. Most folks will just put it in the cargo area of their rig

Hey Mike, is Metalcloak going to sell those fairings?
They are available now! Check the Adventure rack systems website 👍🏽
Looks very nice! Will be interested on your take once you go through the Rubicon with it. Will it be Top heavy or unnoticeable??

Love it! Good job, MetalCloak Mike. "We will see out on the trail " 👊😎🏕
Nice built, really good size and design, but too much for my budget 😔
