MARTHA - Short Film #2 - Shot On iPhone - My Favorite Short Story So Far - creepy artistic funny

Martha again! This is a second short film introducing Martha but this one has a totally different and unique feel and style. This one I feel like is my best short film to date as far as telling a story and having an ending to leave people wanting to see more. That was the hope anyway. I’m still trying. Still learning. But it’s a simple creepy unique story. I think it’s really funny. It’s dark comedy, creepy but also really funny to me. The artistic style and look I absolutely love. The absurdity of my writing dialogue is funny to me. And my acting performance I’m happy with that too. But overall it’s not complete I still have a long ways to go to actually make something good. It’s just potential and growth I see that is encouraging to keep going.
And Lee (Lex) who is not even an actor (yet lol) nailed his part on his first try. And he first came up with the line “your mouth doesn’t open!?”. That was his actual line came up with first!
This is no budget/zero budget filmmaking on the fly with the iPhone in my pocket. I didn’t even use any purchased light equipment for this. It’s all natural light sunset and fog and normal practical lights and fire in the cabin. Sunset and fog are the best. Only thing I used besides my iPhone is one tripod. Didn’t even have a microphone or special sound equipment. It’s the iPhone mic itself! I had to turn up the sound in CapCut to 1000 haha but it’s doable I guess. It gets the point across. It can be done.
I love filming my own stuff on my iPhone. I’m just trying to create opportunities for myself and learn storytelling. You can’t wait around any longer. Create your own stuff. I want my channel to inspire other aspiring filmmakers and actors, too.
