Excellent cars, my company uses them as fleet cars. And there proven to be the best most reliable of all our fleet cars, the ones the give the least problems are the Citroen c5 2.0 hdi vtr+ , with normal suspension, some of them are over 100.000 and well driven, city and motorway driving, fleet drivers are pretty hard on there cars, as they don't pay for maintenance, so for three cars to easily go over 100.000 without any major issues is pretty awesome, incredibly comfortable as well
Ive bought the 3.0L HDI V6 executive after looking at various other makes I found it was the highest spec car around as it has every thing you ever need in a car except a sunroof which you dont need as there is A/con. Ive had 4 citreon over the years and found this to be the best yet, if you service this car at right time you will have a great car for life if needed. NO I dont work for Citreon , just found it so good to drive and so reliable and looks fantastic beside other executive cars.
Have you ever drove one ? Do you have a car that is as much advance as the Citroën C6 ? NO ! The Citroën C6 with the C5 are the most comfortable car in the world ! Try one and get impressed.
i work at a citroen garage and the c5s are never there because of suspension problems their biggest failure are the on board computer systems (like most cars) they are average cars in reliability but the beautiful styling and inovative suspension system is what lifts these above any other car (whispers "even the c6")
@ftpaddict Thanks, the car is very reliable even only having this for 6 months, the only thing that has happened is one of the tire pressure monitoring caps broke but the Citroen garage agreed to replace this at no cost as the car was under warranty. The ride is very smooth and quiet, and so is the suspension.
Vlastním toto auto a musím jenom chválit, ale u mě je to srdcová záležitost mám už 4 citroena a zatím nemám důvod měnit značku. Musíte zkusit jet delší trasu a pak pochopíte v čem je to jiné auto. A po městě zase skvěle žehlí nerovnosti. NO PROSTĚ SUPER AUTO
the breaking of the tire pressure monitoring caps is a common problem there made of aluminum and if corrosion attacks it its just a little nudge with your finger and they break. entirely NOT your fault
Could you tell something about the hydriactive suspension?? Are there any problems with it. How's the handling in 60km/h and in 150km/h. Is it as comfortable as producer claims ? BTW. Great Presentation
@derbigpr500 No negatives really, although storage in the rear is quite low. No rattles at all, the engine is very quiet (about the same as my friend's Mercedes S500). The engine in mine is a 3.0L HDI V6 but I'm not sure if that engine is still on the market, but I think the 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L, and 2.2L are still available. The part fabric part leather interior is excellent.
@slomianywdowiec The suspension is rather cool, and has many, many uses. The dashboard did once display that the suspension was faulty, but then decided it wasn't after about five minutes. The handling is excellent, but the ESP was switched on when I did those 50km/h and 150km/h benchmarks for you. For the comfort it is VERY comfortable, the suspension is fantastic, the part leather/fabric seats in mine are excellent and the road noise is very minimal, even at 150km/h. Hope this helped.
The "Snow Flake" next to the "Sport" (S) Button is not a Defrost. Its The Stability Program. Wow, I dont even have mines yet, and I Know more =)) Getting mines tomorrrwooo WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

The cars should do over a million kms running on diesel

For me the best car in this class!
Without a doubt if Citroen would stage a US comeback,we Americans would buy the C5 and C6, gas or diesel powered!

Thanks man, awesome detailed review.
Is this auto transmission semi auto that has been used on 1.6 e-hdi which has clumsy changes or is this full automatic used on 2.0 hdi?
Düz Adam this version have a real automatic gearbox. Entry level engines have the BMP6 which is just an automated manual transmission
Nice review? Are there any negatives yet? Is the interior solid? Any squeaks or rattles inside? Which engine is it?
does it have hill start assist ?

BTW. Great Presentation
Defrost mode? Seriously? It's called winter mode.
Excellent presentation! Any word on reliability? I know French cars tend to be a bit dodgy in this area.
I have had my C5 2.0 Hdi now for 11 years and have not had any issues. Reliable and comfortable. I might buy another if they still made C5:s.
Great review, crossing it off my list of options for my next car because it appears to have no heated seats
Bertie Blue Some of them do have heated seats and even massage seats
@@daveyboiyeah Mine has heated and massage seats, 2 liter Exclusive Tourer

كينشي ولد دريجتي هنا 😔
Thanks for the review
Why is my glove box of my c5 so much bigger?
Probably because You have a left hand driving car and the fusebox is on the same side regardless it is a UK or EU model.
@magnum172
You forget his big brother Citroën C6 ;D
Nice movie.
Muito bom.
You might need to buff up the use of English a bit and reread the car's manual, but overall well done.
