Moviecam Lens Test - Alexa Mini LF

- This is a boring lens test that I did for myself but I figured I would share it here. Quick look at the Moviecam large format lenses by Arri Rental. A few shots compare them to the DNA LF lenses and Arri Signature Primes. They have a cool look. From Arri's site, they sit somewhere between the Canon K-35 and DNA LF vintage lens.
Shot on the arri alexa mini LF in open gate and arriraw. the first shots were framed for 2.39:1. we can see full open gate for the second set of shots.
exposure was adjusted in Davinci resolve to match the shots. let me know if you have any questions.

Love the 135mm CF. So lovely. But also appreciate the image from that DNA LF.
I really like the DNAs too. Also, framing a face like the CF shot is really nice on 135. I love 135 for faces.

I wonder what donor lens did they use, as they look so similar on this test!
I wonder as well. I think I saw something online about it but I can’t remember. Possible they have master prime DNA. but don’t quote me on that.

The Chromatic Abberation on that 24mm 2.0 was real though lol 😅
Yea it was. It goes away when you stop down the tiniest bit. It’s gone long before 2.8. I could have been slightly out of focus too.

Great test! Which lens is the 20mm? As far as I know, most of the lenses of the set are rehouse Olympus, but there's not 20mm there so I'm a bit curious about it!

Love it! If you had A7S3 next to Alexa, which settings you would have selected for the sony to match Alexa as much as possible (especially skin tone) ? PP8(slog3)? iso 640? 1/50? 24pic, aperture 7.1? Exposure +1 stop?
Can you please write down specific settings for PP (as you would have chosen), black level, knee, saturation, etc.? Thanks in advance!!
Thanks! Shoot with slog3 and sgamut3.cine. I don’t mess with any of the deeper settings like black level, knee, etc. leave all default.
@@BlaineWestropp1 Thanks for reply! What cheap camera can you recommend to come closest to (this Alexa shot) in dynamic range and colors, Komodo, FX6 or some other camera? Could you please share some lut *.cube for slog3 and sgamut3.cine /for the Premiere Pro to get closer Alexa. I have Phantome luts, but need som better one. Thanks!!
