    The interviewer asked some very timely and important questions that are relevant for all of us, and she was very informed about Apple, generally. Good interview. It gave Tim Cook a chance to really state Apple’s policies clearly and decisively-It’s always the role of the interviewer to be humble and ask the questions she or he may already know the answers to. I’m sure I’m not the only one who believes Tim Cook has been a great CEO for Apple. He even risked jail time when he stood up for our privacy against the FBI who wanted new software to open our data. Steve Jobs was not going to make the same mistake twice-he knew what he was doing when he groomed Tim for this role.

    Great work how Tim finesses the interviewer out of her politicized questions and gets back on track. No surprise, it’s just CNN being CNN after all.

    • @jimbruttan69420
      @jimbruttan69420 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's stupid , because Google and Apple are immensely interdependent. Without Google, Apple would not have enough software, and Google would lose a large % of their userbase without Apple

    • @SamiKarvinen
      @SamiKarvinen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimbruttan69420 Yeah, I think Apple consistently has this rhetoric of blaming other parties (app-makers, governments) for problems of privacy , while also being the host of platforms like the app store, where they allow all of this to happen for financial benefit. This whole digital economy is based on a erosion of privacy rights, and they can't really distance themselves from it without taking huge losses.

  • @mrhpijl
    @mrhpijl 6 ปีที่แล้ว +101

    She doesn't really ask tough (follow up) questions, it's 25 minutes of reading questions from a piece of paper and admiring him. Could've been a better interview

    • @HassanWorld
      @HassanWorld 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because he is great?

    • @mrhpijl
      @mrhpijl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      He might be in some ways. But in the days of privacy scandals, she might've been more tough on Apple's role and history. A day before the interview, news broke that Facebook shared data with Samsung and Apple. I'd like to see some tough questions on that rather than his views of Trump etc. This simply was an extended keynote, an admiration, not an interview. And remember: this company is worth more than entire economies and that comes with great power over consumers. So they too must be held accountable

    • @HassanWorld

      Probably because she probably owns Apple's stock and it has performed quite well in the past years. Everyone is happy when Apple is making money, basically. I am as well.

I bought it in one of a big mall in Jakarta, Indonesia but I dont know exactly which store is it I bought from. I do not have the purchase documents anymore. Password doesnt work anymore. And when I went to an Ipad seller, he asked me to fill in the password, and it is always wrong. What should I do?

    Regardless of my political view or yours. Its amazing to know we have a CEO as powerful as Tim Cook, thats willing to stand up for the rights of its users. Its truly amazing to see someone so inspiring and true to himself standing in the world spotlight for what he believes in. A pretty great role model for the next generation that's for sure.
    You were a great successor to Steve and he knew you would be, why else would he pick someone like yourself. Hope to have you head this company for the rest of your life as well. Especially now in these stormy moral and ethical technological times. We need someone heading one of the giants with a proper head on his shoulders. And where your morals and ethics are as a human being, I think you're the perfect one to be leading Apple through these "Rough Waters".

      It's actually her job to be "clueless", that's the role of a great interviewer. You think Oprah never knew the answers to the questions she'd ask her guests? In most cases she knew more than the guest did. It's the interviewer's role to give the guest the scope to explain their position to the most ignorant among us, the lowest common denominator of the general public, within the framework of the topic. It's an art that requires a great deal of humility, and background research. You can't ask the questions if you don't already know the answers.

      kareem jeiroudi for real?! This was an AWFUL interviewer. She couldn't stay on topic and constantly asked Tim divisive questions. This wasn't a political interview. Not by any means

    I was surprised that Apple did put on privacy. Like why would they care? It's a company just like other big companies. It's not going to make them more money than not putting privacy. I'm surprised hopefully they continue and not bogged down by other companies.

      Reuben Lee google got idea of android os from being partners with Apple on making the original iPhone and making google maps on the original iPhone as well as google search engine be the default search engine in safari on the iPhone
      Then google split off and bought out android, they didn’t invent android, they just bought it off

      yeah well it wasn’t so good for the banks since they didn’t actually self regulate & it lead to the 2008 global financial crash

      Mai Vu Tan we end up exactly where we are now with Facebook, and google etc abusing our privacy for profit, because people like free services and are largely unaware of data harvesting. Hence the EU was eventually lead to pass GDPR. In other industries you get other consequences
